Sakamoto Injury (6 Viewers)

At the time I didn’t think foul
In hindsight I still am not sure there’s a foul
What is clear is that if the defender doesn’t do what he does saka doesn’t land down on his back
I think this has to be looked at and a similar rule to what they have in rugby would avoid this happening
It’s obviously a foul and intentional dangerous play. This kind of collision can happen by accident but in this case is wasn’t.

It was fair according to the referee. Do you think pumping it to Tats in the air is a good tactic?

Wilson was having a mare of a game but I think its a tad unfair to implicate him in blame for Saka's injury. I imagine rather than booting it upfield for Saka to challenge for the ball in the air, Wilson's intention was to put it over their defender's head into the space behind him for Saka to run onto, and he simply didn't kick it accurately enough.

Look at the Harry Kane video it isn’t obviously a foul as one of those that he instigated he won a foul from
It’s an area that needs clear guidance

Rubbish, he just floated it to Tats, no way was he trying to hit the space behind him.
I’m not blaming Wilson for the injury, that was completely on the Preston player. I’m asking why is Wilson using that tactic, it was doomed to fail and we’re going to lose the ball every time.

Gutted he’s out, he will be really missed. We’ve been very unlucky with serious injuries of late, it seems more than ever from the way other teams are tackling our players

Shouldn’t have been playing that sort of game long to saka but awful he’s so seriously injured

Robins saying Tatsu will be ok. He’s out for the season. He will recover in 8-10 weeks but season will be over. He is an absolutely brilliant human being. Players love him and he’ll be missed.
Gutted for him but given people were talking about 1-2 years recovery, never playing again and potentially a life changing injury thats about the best news we could hope for

Personally im just happy to hear he is going to be ok. He will get fantastic support from the club and the staff and they will look after him during his recovery. I dont care how much he earns or is worth, it must if been scary and now frustrating for him.

He has had a massive impact at the club and gained instant love from the fans. It will be a good day to see him walk back into the stadium. And an even bigger day to see him wearing the shirt, by the sound of it a special fella and definitely special player.

Agreed. This thread really pissed me off, probably more than anything I’ve ever read on here. It was all rumour and needless speculation by people with no knowledge.
None of us knew what the extent of the injury was, but the fact that the medics let Tats sit up on the pitch implied that it wasn’t the life-threatening (or career-threatening) injury some of the idiots on here were starting rumours about. Whoever started the pelvic fracture rumour (based on it being a common injury in FM) should be utterly ashamed of themselves.
Hopefully Tats has a good recovery and we see him back on the pitch in the summer as MR implied.

I've genuiely never seen such an outpouring of support for an injured player. He has become such a popular player with the fans and it's clear the other player love him too. When have you seen a player hold up a shirt for an injured player? It doesn't happen that often. Robins described him as a 'great human being'. Great player with a big smile. Wish him well for his recovery.
