Cheers for the links. I won't get time to read them until later but maybe you already know the answer to this? If the judges rule that they can't go to the Europe can they appeal that decision and SISU basically start the appeal process all over again?

i have absolutely no idea, I'm just googling stuff about EU law. If SISU get blocked they will just start JR2 & involve Wasps. That appears to be the strategy, litigation, litigation & more litigation, ethics & justice of cause does not come into it. Just keep plugging away till the other guy surrenders.

If knew for certain the government would be paying damages. It may change my perspective.
They have taken a lot of my money over the last few years. So may not bother me as much. If it gets SISU's investors their money back and allows SISU to sell up. Or allows them to attempt to run the football side of things correctly then that could be interesting.
If the it comes out of local council funds I wouldn't agree with that. As that could directly affect the people of coventry.

Still can't see how CCFC was forced to go to Northampton and as a result expect compensation.
Surely they could have stayed at the Ricoh, admittedly with the agreed high rent still in place.
It's as if Sisu are saying that because you won't lower the agreed rent its your fault we are leaving.
In retrospect ACL/CCC should have been more understanding of the club but keeping CCFC to the contract is not illegal.

The loan that CCC supplied to the Ricoh will always come down to whether it was at market rates which should also reflect the risk.

A decision can't be an exact calculation on this, so it will come down to the judges evaluation.

What strikes me as a bit odd is that CCC took over the loan due to a fear YB would call it in. That is an indication that the loan was relatively high risk. Yet when CCC made the loan it was reported as being a good thing as they would now be paying a lower interest rate. Wouldn't you expect the interest rate to rise to reflect the risk if it was being made on a commercial basis.

If a commercial lender was perpared to lend to them on the same terms why did they go with the council? A commercial loan would never have led to all this legal rubbish.

If they Government are liable I assume they will pay. Otherwise what's the point of involving them.
If it comes out the council's budget I don't want SISU to win as that directly affects the people of Coventry.
If the Government pay up then that's the central pot.

I didn't say anything about blame. I said if the money is to be paid out by the council I would prefer the council to win. Especially if it affects the people of Coventry.
If it's to be paid out by central Government then I may change my opinion on that.
Blame wise I have always said both parties share blame but I apportion a larger share of the blame on SISU. So they don't deserve to win IMO however if they win and central Government pay out and that either allows SISU to sell up or stay but run the football club in the championship in a manner that they should have done in the first place.
Then that could be a different way of thinking

look at the current balance sheet and annual reports. Big losses. you could argue that the balance sheet was set up just for this potential outcome.

You are talking about whose fault it is. Yes it would still be down to the council if the judges decide that way. That's not really relevant to my post though. But yes I agree with you

They were probably planning the move before they even took over, then spouted out the Coventry line to keep people sweet. Then moved.
