Ticketing system shared costs.
Administration costs.
Shop and staff. Retail costs of merchandise.
Training facilities academies. Medical staff.
I could go on ............

Fair do's, I was just wondering what angle you were coming from.

Not too sure about the academies and medical staff, as I am sure there would be problems re precedence and so on.

I read their bulletin boards and the problem seems over.
I guess they will always loose the local fans as they move on.
I talk to dozens of travelling fans every match as they arrive and most think it is the best thing that could have happened.
A lot of fans traveled distance anyway (furthest canvassed Broadstairs) and again it's the best thing for their club.
They seem to make a day of it. It's like one of our away days.
Some say we never had a home they could call their own and now they have and they can buy into it.
I could go on ........

You could go on, but you may have missed those that have stopped going.
I too have read the bulletin boards, not just Wasps and they have lost loyal longstanding fans, which I think is unfair and am sure that both you and I would be up in arms if our football club did the same.

There are those that neither have the time or perhaps the money, or other reasons why they can no longer go and cant make a day of it like the people from Broadstairs and when Wasps sold their soul to Ricahrdson, that was the day they gave up on these fans, and yet people seem to brush it off as acceptable.

Are there only 6? Or is that you trying to play it down?

Hypocritical post #2342384234

So if you dislike Wasps and the situation you now have no life? :)

No again !!!!
A lot of people don't like Wasps but just get on with their life.
The problem is that until the club come to terms with where they are and how to make the best of it we can't move on.

They banned Grendel for being ............. well Grendel !!

No they said only people prepared to talk rugby could stay on there.

I'm not actually banned - it was pathetically easy to get round it and I made one final post - on your designated parking section I believe.

They have a point, I want people to talk football here....

Not really they were perfectly happy to have the crawlers there telling them how great they are and how much better than sisu.

Anybody could do a better job than Sisu. Hardly rocket science

What move a club 90 miles in pursuit of profit with not a thought for fans left behind?

Try again.

Sisu couldn't even move us 35 miles and achieve their objective.
We will be reaping the rewards of their efforts for the next 20 years.

Whilst Wasps have moved in, hit the ground running and their fans reap the benefits immediately by utilising a facility created for us and apparently not wanted by Sisu on behalf of us.

Yeah and you don't seem to have a problem with that which is worrying. Suppose the Sisu investors had been more willing to stomach the losses at Sixfields? We could have been there for many years and even one game is unacceptable to me. How many of our supporters were willing/able (financially or otherwise) to go to Sixfields? How many local fans did we lose when we 'moved' & how many do you think is acceptable to lose access to watching our team play?

How many Wasps supporters can't get to games owing to the distance from London and how many do you think is acceptable to lose access to watching their team play?

Sky Blues fan since 1967 and season ticket holder for most of that. Continuous now for over 20 years.
This may seem strange but you can actually support CCFC and Wasps.
I'm a Wasps season ticket holder.

Sixfields comments make me laugh.
Unlike Wasps we had our own stadium, we could have bought it (certainly 50%) and we could have influenced our own rent payments as well as take a percentage of incomes.
Some fans did travel and I guess some locals did attend but everybody knew it was never going to last so new roots would never be set.

Wasps fans have never had roots before, something they can sit back and think, this is now forever. Do I want to be part of this ?
I would say a lot of Wasps fans traveled distance anyway as a result of playing all over London. Some as Man U from wherever.
Some fans in this area can also make that decision. Do I want to be part of this ? After all it's for the long term. I'm one of these !!
A lot of Wasps fans were picked up and dropped on their travels, the latest being those from around Wycombe. Some may be long term Wasps fans some may be going because they are on their doorstep.

The pick up and drop of Wasps fans has now stopped and Wasps are now settled in both location and finances.
Something the majority of long term Wasps fans would favour after the past 3 years.

No I've accepted the situation and taken advantage of it.

You fight on aimlessly with Sisu.

Wasps had an option of building a stadium down south in conjunction with a local council. So they had as much of an option as ccfc. We could only purchase 50% with the councils approval. Which was highly unlikely even before the rent strike. Wasps home is London. Cipriani said he's happy to come home. Now where do you think he calls wasps home? Coventry or London?

Whinging 6

Who they complaining too ? There's only me listening !!

Two points.

1) Am I in the exclusive six as I didnt realise asking reasoned thought out questions was whinging. If so I must contact the Oxford English dictionary as their meaning is incorrect.

2) Theres plenty of people listening, as many people read the thread, I regularly see others perusing it as well as non forum members viewing. What is actually correct is you are the only one answering, or perhaps it could be viewed as the only one defending Wasps. ;)

Why was it unlikely before the rent strike that we would not purchase all of ACL?

The Northampton move will have lasting damage for years.
The only thing that could change that would be a succesful stint in the championship.
It was the most ridiculous move ever.
Completely without any regard for the fans purely an attempt to force ACL into a corner.
It failed and we are left with the damage to the fans.

You should have aimed higher. If my maths is correct I retired at least 16 years younger than you did, but thats another story. ;)

You retired at 34 ? Well done :)

Your right I seem to be the only one defending the 'situation'.
However it does give everybody a target to vent their frustrations.
A lot do think like me but I guess they don't like the banter/insults/abuse which I don't mind.
I try to be a little more subtle in return with 'teasers' like 'The 6'.

I'm a Wasps season ticket holder.
But did you support Wasps before they came to Coventry? Were you even a rugby supporter before Wasps moved in to our home and if so who did you support and were you a season ticket? Would you still be a season ticket holder and be going to home games for Wasps in the unlikely event that they moved again?

Sixfields comments make me laugh.
Really? I don't think it's a laughing matter at all.

Unlike Wasps we had our own stadium, we could have bought it (certainly 50%) and we could have influenced our own rent payments as well as take a percentage of incomes.
I've said since day one that Sisu should have been getting the chequebook out and buying into the Ricoh. It infuriates me that they didn't and I've said so many times before.

Some fans did travel and I guess some locals did attend but everybody knew it was never going to last so new roots would never be set.
You don't know that for certain though do you? You can't produce evidence that Sisu weren't going to stay there until a new stadium was built. What if we'd found a stadium we could buy but it was tens of miles away? I assume you would have had no problems with us moving from Sixfields to there?

Wasps fans have never had roots before, something they can sit back and think, this is now forever. Do I want to be part of this ?
Or do I think travelling to Coventry is too far from London to support my team at home games.

I would say a lot of Wasps fans traveled distance anyway as a result of playing all over London.
There's a huge difference between travelling around London and even travelling to High Wycombe from London. One hundred miles dwarfs the distance we had to travel to get to Sixfields.

Some as Man U from wherever.
United haven't moved for a fair few years though have they? The travelling fans who support United more than likely knew where their team would be playing when they became supporters.

Some fans in this area can also make that decision. Do I want to be part of this ? After all it's for the long term. I'm one of these !!

I still don't approve of moving a club away from their fans be it rugby, football, netball etc. We didn't like it when it happened to us did we? It appears to me that Wasps are having to use inducements to get people to go to their games be it free tickets, paying for trains etc. Now I know that OSB58 has posted a detailed analysis of Wasps from a financial perspective and doesn't think that they're likely to be on the brink anytime soon. But it still can't be right that to show a fuller stadium (on TV) they're using all these inducements. That's probably also going to affect the local teams in the surrounding area just like when a superstore moves into a location.

Never supported Wasps. Only watched England on TV. My only live rugby was watching my daughter play for Cov Welsh ladies team.
I would not follow Wasps to live matches but might support them from afar. Similar thing for CCFC.

Really? I don't think it's a laughing matter at all.

Don't make me laugh then !!

I've said since day one that Sisu should have been getting the chequebook out and buying into the Ricoh. It infuriates me that they didn't and I've said so many times before.

I would not support CCFC in Northampton.
If they got kicked out the Ricoh (genuinely) I would not travel far.

Or do I think travelling to Coventry is too far from London to support my team at home games.

Apparently not.

You would be surprised where wasps fans travel from.

The same choice I refer refer to above.

Depends whether you believe they had to or not. I would assume because they nearly disappeared a couple of years ago it was an easy decision to make.

So basically you support Wasps at games because they're now in our city and if they moved you wouldn't?

I wasn't attempting to make anyone laugh. I don't see what's funny or humorous about making it harder and more expensive for fans to support their team.

I've said since day one that Sisu should have been getting the chequebook out and buying into the Ricoh. It infuriates me that they didn't and I've said so many times before.

I believe that the club monitor this site.

So you wouldn't travel but you do think that it's okay for Wasps fans to have to go the extra miles to support their team?

Or do I think travelling to Coventry is too far from London to support my team at home games.
Apparently not.
If all their existing support was prepared to travel the extra tens of miles why are they paying for trains to the Ricoh and giving away tickets locally?

There's a huge difference between travelling around London and even travelling to High Wycombe from London. One hundred miles dwarfs the distance we had to travel to get to Sixfields.

You would be surprised where wasps fans travel from.
If the majority [before they moved] weren't from the South East (including Berks/Bucks) then yes I might be.

United haven't moved for a fair few years though have they? The travelling fans who support United more than likely knew where their team would be playing when they became supporters.

You could make the same argument about our move to Sixfields. The club did they said that they were 'forced' to move out of Coventry after all. Why didn't Wasps move back towards the South East rather than further away?
