Wasps deputy chief has just spoken about today's developments. He's happy for CCFC to stay but club is free to do what is best for them. It doesn't matter if CCFC leave the Ricoh.

So as it stands, based on what they all say today.

Are you referring to the meeting Fisher had with RBC to supposedly persuade them to allow a stadium to be built there? "There are investors interested, so long as the physical resource is outside of Coventry due to Coventry Council attempting a hostile takeover of the club they don’t wish to invest in Coventry”

Or are you referring to Matton comments about there being no possible site within the city boundary for a new stadium. The key word there is new, this wouldn't be a new site.

Tony says he's unsure that moving into a stadium owned by a rugby club may be right for "his" team, OSB has concerns on parking (rather odd given there is nowhere to park at the Ricoh) and dongle is avoiding all questions on the councils apparent attempt to strangle at birth this concept.

Everyone else seems on board.

we've been told on many occasions (particularly during the rent dispute) that funding/investors were lined up for a new stadium if a location could be found.

All irrelevant as Coventry City haven't managed an average attendance of 25k or more since 1971, and in the last 25 years have had an average in excess of 20k on just 5 occasions, that's with an away allocation of circa 6k at the Ricoh and 4k at HR.

I would say it is irrelevant going back 25 years because clubs then had smaller capacities than they do now in many cases.

My whole argument is that surely we want to be looking for a stadium to cater for us for the next 50 years plus.

We have had very little success at all these past 25 years. We have success, attendances will increase.

We need to look for a new home and one tied in with Cov sounds brilliant in theory, but we need to look past just the now and we need foundations for many, many years to come.

In theory I love the Butts concept.

Going back to 1971 we've had 30 years on the top flight, an FA Cup win, two league cup semi finals. The most successful period in the club's history really.

Bournemouth have had massive success on 11K. So what if we start at 15K. In the last decade how many times have we needed the full capacity of the Ricoh? We have to start somewhere. I think a smaller capacity will drive the demand for tickets if we do well and that can only be a good thing. It might be an issue in a decade or three, but it's not an issue now, I don't think.

don't like using Bournemouth as an example as their success has nothing to do with gates or fanbase just a massive investment from owners into playing side. A wage bill of well over 30 million in their promotion season has nothing to do with ticket money, F&B or other stadium income.

Suggest you read the other posts then that say its a good or great idea rather than trying to twist my words in order to make another pointless contribution

problem wasn't the capacity at HR. HR was ours.
problem was leaving HR without having secured funding for the Ricoh.
If we owned the Ricoh no-one would have issues with its capacity etc. or any other stadium-related issues. We could have spent the last 10 years bitching about crap hotdogs or dumpy cheerleaders rather than F&B income etc.

We make a pile of money as there would be sellouts every week. The demand for tickets would hopefully be huge and we may even have a waiting list for season tickets. Sounds good to me. Can't see what the issue is.
