Ancillary staff like physios, medics etc { All cut back by all accounts }
Accounting and legals { Don't get me started ?! }
Other staff wages { Don't get me started even more }

correct - but the budget that is held up by TF etc as being 6th best is from a list provided by the FL based on their formula. It is, and to my mind has always been, misleading talking about budgets because people even within the same club, let alone the fans, talk about different figures but call it the same thing. That in itself causes part of the anger.

If TF is talking the 6th best in L1 and the reality for TM is different then there will be and is an expectation gap for the fans.

TM still has the same budget to pay wages, transfers, loans agents etc yes in general terms as last year ........ was that the one before or after they realised they miscalculated?

You can class the budget/spend allowance/pocket money fund in which ever different clever way you want to.

Mowbray has said that the budget is extremely comparable to last season today, the same budget that got us to finish in 8th last year (despite the best ability to fuck it post Christmas, which a lot of blame has to go to the manager for). That and this budget are without a doubt a top ten one. Look at the relegation form we are experiencing at the moment, that isn't SISU or the budget's fault.

The fact he still has money left over means he is either extremely reckless or well and truly naive. Look at the general matchday squad's from last year compared to the one on Saturday. You'd pick nearly every player last year, even if you factor in the potential of the new bunch during this shit spell. It's not just in aiming too high, but letting good players from last year go, and waiting too long to do business when we should be getting ready for the season and winning the first game which was worth more than the amount of points that kept us out of the playoffs last year. - All those things have been excused by a lot of fans at various points, but it isn't right. This transfer window has been a categorical failure, and the comments today prove that even more.

With regards to investment how much would actually need to be required? Could it be as simple as covering wages of new signings for May and June helping you get your first or second choice signings? In the big scheme of things that would seem small fry compared to the other gamble's our owners take with the club. Getting a couple of good early signings in might also give season ticket sales a big boost in July. That small investment might start paying back sooner rather than later.

In terms if budget - as everyone is obsessed with it - I wonder how much we are spending on Mowbray, clapham and venus compared to the management budget bestowed last season on burton Albion and this season on Scunthorpe.

I would be very surprised if our budget has slipped significantly lower than top 6. This is league one, most teams in the league don't have a pot to piss in. I would be very surprised if it has dropped that it has dropped any lower than 10th, certainly not bottom 4, which appears to the standard of squad hes put together.

Didn't you read the article? He tried to sign six centre-halves so he had plans A, B, C, D, E and F.
The mistake he made was letting go the centre-half we had before finding a replacement.

Totally agree with you on that one. I would also prefer to have kept JOB rather than Ricketts or Tudgay. I said in the Summer that it would be better to let Ricketts and Tudgay go in order to bring in better quality. It's particularly strange that he resigned Tudgay given that TM didn't play him for most of last season.

Sorry SBK but not all the signings are gash, Mowbray and Venus and the scouts put hard work into scouting the players they want, some come off some don't. It was they this that Stu was talking about, the work that is put in.

Can you clarify how you have assessed them as gash? as forgive me for pointing out if you are NPOPM how have you seen any play. I am sure when you played you would have had a rant at fans if they came up to you telling you were shit when they hadn't even seen you play.

I think going to the OP and various ones after that attacking Venus and TM on the overall strategy hasn't worked, facts based on the positive signings last year and this year contradict those statements. As you said earlier give credit where credit is due but some on here will only pick up on the negatives rather than the decent players we signed over the last two seasons. Sadly we have let critical players go at the same time. No manager will have all great signings but I have faith in the recruitment network as we have never had access to this 'type' of player before and that is purely down to these two.

Reid is anything but a good signing he looks very average. Bigi is just a free handout and again is nowhere near the level required. I'd like to know why you think Ghadzev is a good signing. To me he's auditioning for a remake of the Invisible Man. How many times have you seen turnball? How can you judge? Based on the signings made i would hold fire.

He has two target men - big target men - and he is playing than wide in a front three miles apart. Ghadzev is at best a spoiler but has been deployed in an advanced role. Bigi is a powderpuff midfielder by this leagues standards. It also makes me laugh when "straight talking" Tony was lauding the reasons for signing him.
