Just a possibility but it may be that he wants to keep out of it in case his conduct and involvement in the original deal are looked at. Might or might not be the case, who knows.

What a waste of time. Frustrates me that, as meaningless as the whole exercise may be, we only get questions which pretty much everyone on here could answer without a second thought How is that going to move things forward?

Moaning about the F&P persons testing when the FL themselves have admitted its nothing more than a self certification exercise gets us nowhere.

And then you get Fletcher, who was part of CCC when the Ricoh was sold to Wasps, complaining about things being done as a smokescreen!

Maybe she got some of the bonds as she seems very keen to push that there's no option other than the Ricoh and the club should therefore pay whatever Wasps ask.

I see the former Coventry City Council Councilor Kevin Foster is shown in some of the CT footage. Foster is an MP for somewhere in the south west now, his name isn't on the list of MPS.

Like Robinson always did? You are overestimating the Coventry public's willingness to vote anything other than Labour.

eastwood, that was certainly so in the past,
but not so much these days, when they look at the shambles that is the labour party,
it's more of a personal choice now where priorities come before party loyalty

What hasn't been mentioned on any of the coverage that I've seen - Coleen Fletcher was a labour councillor until 2015, and was chair of the Labour Group and the Chair of the Scrutiny Committee on the Council...

Damien Collins, fit & proper persons test too narrow. Only checks for with unspent convictions. FL has no latitude to block persons unsuitable to run a football club.

See it is therefore a pointless exercise to carry out such a 'fit & proper persons test'. Why don't they change their own rules to retain the right to withdraw the Golden Share at any point within a 5yr period if they suspect things are untoward?

I haven't kept up to date on all this crap tbh...but are you CERTAIN there is no offer to renew? Could it be the case that there was a suggestion to renew the existing deal for 5yrs...but SISU said '50yrs & you've got a deal'? Or 'Halve it & you've got a deal'? That would be no real surprise would it?
Like I say - I don't know myself. Some FACTS would help

Who get punished thr most and loses out though? The fans of said club, when their club has been expelled from thr league and they have to start again from the 8-10 tiers. Most these owners know they are going to lose ££££, yeah they'd lose a bit more but then they would move on and no real impact on them.

Not sure what the answer is but better checks at the start, full disclosure of all shareholders, and stopping clubs from spending beyond their turnover with points penalties would help.

Because if they tried to implement that it would be chaos. For a start as soon as they stripped any owner of the GS they'd be up in court. Then think what would happen to the clubs, if there's not a new owner ready to step in immediately what happens?

And what are you judging untoward? You could say something like us moving to Northampton but that was sanctioned by the FA and FL. If they insist on acceptance of any rental deal or make non-payment of rent punishable whats to stop clubs landlords whacking the rent up knowing the clubs have no option other than to pay?

I agree...but whichever route - the fans either gain or suffer in most circumstances. This just takes the penalties for potential owners to the extreme so football clubs maybe appear less attractive an investment to the fly-by-night & SISU type potential owners. Football in general would be better off without them imo

Agree there is no easy answer - but 5yrs of being booted out & initial investments being wiped out in terms of value would tend to motivate potential owners to make this work rather than just plod or not give much of a shit.

1. Untoward is circumstantial. Taking us to Northampton would've been a good case in point
2. Nothing stops landlords whacking up the rent now...so nothing changes unless you advocate franchise football clubs

Just that there is no public tangible plans for a new stadium and yet with Wasps stopping currently stopping talks, the current deal's end date and the importance of us stopping in Coventry.
A bit about the Northampton move and the great moment we returned. It basically focused on the fact that Nortgampton should never be allowed to happen again.

but as far as the follow on to the EDM goes,
i feel Jim Cunningham ought to be lobbying Damien Collins,
who in turn ought to lobby Tracey Crouch with a view to urgently sorting out both the plight of ownership of CCFC & the abject lethargy displayed by both the FA & the FL;
after all, apart from CCFC;
i think supporters of Hull, Charlton, Cardiff, Blackpool, Portsmouth, Rangers, Leeds, Blackburn, & Nott'm F to name but a few, might feel an immediate revision of fit & proper is needed NOW

The minister is trying to make the EFL/FA reform themselves with out legislating. It won't work, until there is a bill.
As 110% of parliaments time is going to be spent on Brexit there will be total inaction.
