This is the Wasps section so move on or shape up.
No - a completely distinct website.... They'll probably love how you used to be a CCFC fan until the money converted you.

26,000 people don't care.
Keep fighting a futile battle if you must..

Funny thing is Pete Chambers gets abused yet your anti ccfc shit gets ignored. Go on CWR and say this next week will you?

Quick scan of twitter would suggest there was a lot of freebies floating around.

Quite funny to see all the regular rugby fans complaining about the behaviour of the newcomers. Mexican wave seemed to send them into meltdown.

You do know that twitter is just people giving there opinions? It's not fact.
'All' the regularly rugby fans ? Are you for real ?
Of course there are free tickets. All teams give out free tickets.
Unfortunately for us we don't get the other incomes that people generate at the stadium and these tickets are what attracts them in.
Old school rugby die hards will always complain about the razzmatazz with Wasps. But it's generating new fans and the old fans will adapt.

To be quite honest it's the same for big City games. 'Fans' turn up, haven't got a clue where they are sitting, or which stand is which and half the time don't even know who the players are or where they play.

Also been a number of occasions where I've heard them talk about City players out there on the pitch that have long left the club.

Why, because they took over a stadium we didn't want ?
Wasps are not the problem here. But they might be the solution ?
I wish they WOULD buy us. I don't want them here and it makes me feel sick to my stomach that they ARE here, but it looks like they are here to stay and for the City, the Ricoh is all we have got.

I'm sick we don't own it but don't blame Wasps for buying it.
We realistically couldn't afford it after messing up financially after many years.
The killer for us was dropping out of the PL having committed to the stadium.
It's all very marginal but if we could have stayed there it could have been so much different.
Similarly if we can just get back then renting the stadium would not be an issue.
Particularly if our management could also negotiate a 'win win' deal with Wasps that utilised our 'greater' prominence of being in the PL/Football.
In reality it will never happen unless someone wants to chuck some money at us and disregard stadium ownership at the same time.

Unbelieveable you pair. Italia, do us all a favour and take your hypocrisy elsewhere. I for one am sick of seeing it.
You pair?

Many, many, many apologies for my wanting the Sky Blues to have a future and a stadium to play in, in Coventry.

How very dare I!!!

Mentions nothing of a future, just you're insistent that we continue to play at the Ricoh beholden to a London rugby team.

We all want CCFC to have a future and a stadium, just not at any costs, like selling the Ricoh to SISU which people wrote letters to councillors about. Or being taken over by another hedge fund with no respect for history, heritage or tradition.

I am not insistent we play at the Ricoh! Not all and I have never, ever said so.

Show me the new stadium then!

I find some people are so enraged by Wasps, so blinded by their hatred that they would rather us play 20 miles away, ground sharing a tin pot non-league stadium than have us stay at the Ricoh.

Show me the new stadium and I'm onboard.

I just don't see what is so unbelievable about my stance.

1. I hate Wasps being here.

2. I don't want them to stay here.

3. I want them to bugger off to whence they came.

We though don't have ANYWHERE else to play past a ground share maybe back at Northampton or suchlike.

We have no ground and there looks like there is never, ever going to be any new ground while Sisu are here.

So what do you suggest we do? I find it a ridiculous notion that the likes of myself are INSISTENT we stay at the Ricoh. It's laughable really. The only reason I want us to stay at the Ricoh is because it is ALL we have got.

My ideal scenario would be for us to get into some sort of partnership with Wasps, then become the major player, then force them out. Wishful thinking I know.

Bottom line is, we are playing at the Ricoh, there IS no new stadium and it's all we have got. As it's all we have got, of course I want us to stay.

The obvious conclusion to any sensible thinking City fan is for us to get something like a 5-10 year deal at the Ricoh and hope someone buys us and then does actually build our own stadium.

I don't see my stance as unbelievable at all. Merely sensible and rational and not blinded by hate.

There is an absolute massive difference between insisting we stay here and merely accepting it's all we have got right now.

At the moment is is the Ricoh or groundshare with another club miles outside the city.

That went well last time didn't it.

At the moment we have somewhere to play in the city of Coventry. It really is that simple.

You hate them but wish they would buy us? Just because they own the Ricoh? How is that not insistent on being at the Ricoh? The Butts is deemed too small at 15000 and too problematic. Yet it has lapsed planning permission for a stadium that size and Jon Sharp has said plans have been drawn for 25000, yet it is played down by others, including yourself. People state but we would be renting off another rugby club. The rugby club in question though is CRFC, which is beneficial to both parties. There is another option but you have nailed your flag firmly to the Ricoh mast. A stadium that has caused us nothing but problems. Which I would suggest will do in future if Wasps rent to us or own us.

The other thing about the Butts is we're told it isn't big enough, talk of potential fanbase and catchment area. Yet here's the twist, when discussing the Ricoh and CCC's decision to sell to Wasps, those that claim 'too small', 'lack of ambition', they also claim CCC made the right decision for CCC taxpayers as most don't care about the football club. Now, what is it? Large catchment area full of potential fans or potential fanbase that don't really care about the club but might pop along if there winning or playing a big team, should thsoe people be thought of when planning a stadium?

Why on earth would you want another hedge fund to take us over? Especially one that has already admitted that took over the franchise as a side thought.

Errr, hate to break it to you, but the 15,000 Butts arena doesn't exist.

Just exactly what part of 'the Ricoh is our only option RIGHT NOW' don't you get? ;)

I am talking about right here, right now. The Butts would be 2 years minimum.

Just do not understand your post at all. I simply want what is best for Coventry City.

I thought we all hated the council. Yet we still want to work with them to build a new stadium don't we?

Too blinkered thinking unfortunately.

I want, if at all possible, a vibrant Coventry City FC playing in Coventry.

At this very moment (remember, the Butts 15,000 HASN'T been built) we only have the Ricoh or ground share many miles away.

Faced with just those 2 options ad those 2 options only, I choose the Ricoh.

You talk of another option, but that option doesn't exist.

I don't want it, Sick Boy.

I don't want anything to do with Wasps unless it is the only option.

I don't care how many people go, it is just a mirror of the glory supporters in the Premier League.

How anyone that calls themselves a Coventry City fan can attend a Wasps game is completely beyond me. Usually I find when they get called out they get stroppy and defensive, because they know it's morally wrong.

From the shunning of CRFC, to the Man Utd style following (they used to be proud of detesting), to the 'I won't attend Northampton, but when Wasps relocate that's fine'.

I could go on for hours, it is completely indefensible.

I don't get it either.

For me, if you are pro Coventry City, you are anti Wasps.

The worry is there is another option. With Wasps refusing to speak to the club and the council, no matter what they now say, publicly being seen to block a move to the Butts I suspect the FL would not hesitate to approve another temporary move out of the city.

Its very odd, to say the least, after what we went through for people to welcome Wasps with open arms. When someone starts talking to me about Wasps I always make a point of asking them how often they go to the Butts to watch CRFC.
