Come on Skybluedar tell it as it is:- Onye is an idiot, Sisu are crap and Coventry City deserve much better so GET OUT NOW!!!!!

Tonylinc I totally agree. SISU, Onye, Dulieu (now departed thank Christ) etc are all poison within the club and we will not stay up if we don't get them out NOW. Must then add to the squad we have got retaining the likes of Juke and offering respectable contracts to those out at the end of the season, to give us a chance. We are lucky that Forest, Doncaster, Millwall and taking Bristol City's last result aside, them, are all in a very poor position now also and we need to drag ourselves above them.

The Hoff is a major player and how some people are getting on his back for doing his best to get the parasites SISU out of the club is beyond me. The boycott and "Save Our City" is an excellent concept and the fans are definitely doing all they can to show SISU that their time really is up. The last time that Hoffman put a bid in, they were under the illusion that they could win the fans over win Onye's plea that they were going to become more transparent and look for the share in the ground. Now that it is totally clear that they have nowhere to turn and continue to leak serious cash every month, they have no choice but to treat Hoffman and his new consortium (which was introduced by his friend Keys), with some respect. It has to happen.

Agreed, but we've all been hurt in the past. It's understandable if we are somewhat reluctant to trust anyone again in case we get hurt again. But then, this now pretty much sums up my cynical attitude to many aspects of life, from politics and relationships to CCFC; guess I'm just a "Grumpy Old Man" now!

Unfortunatly thats so true NLHWC we all want sisu out but having been down this road so many times now being a ccfc fan until it happens and is actually official by about 100 differant types of media the cynic in me just will not believe it until it is proven.

But lets all hope for good times ahead and hopefully be able to laugh in the very near future at other Midlands clubs instead of us being the brunt of them, and not before bloody time we had something to cheer about because we have suffered for long enough.

Think NBNK probably going to get wound up, was only an empty shell formed to create a new bank from Northern Rock and the Lloyds branch sell-off.

The Hoff's negotiation skills and ability to seal a deal with his insider knowledge obviously were crucial to their success...

Genuine question:

Would you be pleased if a takeover happened or would you prefer to stay with SISU. I know you don't know all the details of any potential deal (at least, I presume you don't), so I'm asking for your gut feel - as your posts seem to suggest you'd prefer the latter.

Supposedlly so but that doesn't make him our saviour
if the truth is ever told you might change your opinion on that, from what i can gather he found these people were acvtively looking for an English premiership club somehow convinced them we would be a better bet and introduced them to Hoffman and Elliott. Hopefully we will enjoy a happy conclusion

Surely a takeover can't happen as early as the southampton game as these things take months to happen. It wasnt that long ago that hoff took is bid off the table. I do think some thing is happening but the rumour mill has just gone ballistic in my opinion. Naturally I hope i'm wrong on this and I will have to dance naked around the ricoh after all :)

Never wanted us to be with Sisu, never trusted them or Ranson.

Just not so sure that there is any deal offing from Hoffman or anybody else, seems to just be rumours and speculation that has just built up over the months, somebody posts something on one site, that then gets quoted as something people know, and so on, until such a time that people think that there must be something in it because they've all been spreading the same generally baseless rumours.

Now, if somebody was waiting in the wings to takeover with as much money as is being bandied about, surely they would have moved before now, paying SISU off, rather than seeing us get ever lower and more than likely to get relegated(recent results notwithstanding), and thus be another year(at least), and more investment away from Premier football, which would surely be the reason they would be taking over.

Before anybody says that Hoffman's one pound offer was more than enough considering the debts, that may be true after all the decent players have been sold, but at the moment they are worth considerably more than £1.00 and would help offset their losses, but leave us with a shell for whoever took over.

Just don't think anything serious is going on, and people being a bit hysterical and over-excited, by what, in the mean is nothing more substantial than hot air and internet gibberish.

I think talks have been going on for some time and things must be coming to a conclusion, too many different sources for this story to be false... RR showing up aswell seems to point to him being involved on the board, which i dont have a problem with if he is given money and time to put a plan into action.

Ranson didn't turn up to two games as he didn't have anything to do over Xmas did he? He was there looking at the squad with a view to helping Thorn when this is all done.

Remember, Thorn and Ranson are very close so Thorn will be very up to date with what is happening. Remember Thorn said he was buzzing after talking about transfers in Jan? He knows more than what is being let on. SISU are going and he knows it.

Seeing as Ranson wanted Robins, not Thorn to be manager, would expect Thorn to be the opposite of buzzing if this was the case.

Dont believe that story about Robins. That said, would back Thorn be moving back to his scouting job at the end of the season if the takeover happens....?

It may not be done by the Southampton game but maybe it has been going on behind closed doors for a while and it is on the verge of being completed. Or alternatively it is just a rumour and we will be stuck with SISU for the foreseeable future.

Say something positive - go on you can do it. I've been arguing with you long enough now to know that if Bill Gates bought us you'd find the negative and moan each and every day.

Has it ever crossed your mind that you've got issues?

I think that if and when this takeover goes through, the long time negative & pessimistic Sky Blues fans (and we all have plenty of reason to be pessimistic) will start to see the light. Lets just hope it goes through in time for some fresh faces to come through the door in January, even if it is only 4/5 loan players to get us through to the end of the season. Striker, wide player, CM and some cover in defence, particularly LB. Keys tweeted me earlier saying that there is no news just yet but he hopes that there will be soon. I think that the next thing we will hear from him will be a yay or nay. PUSB

I think we need to temper our expectations, of what will be our transfer dealings, should this takeover actually happen.

At this moment, we have no information, and it is too easy to get carried away with anticipation. It is just my opinion, of course, but after following the sky blues for more than four decades, I have learnt to be patient, and not count my chickens before they hatch!

It has been a better end to the year, with optimism on and off the pitch, and we look forward to a much improved 2012, but let's keep our feet on the ground and focus on getting at least a point off the hammers today. For the time being, at least, the players we have are the ones who need to do it for us!!

The takeover rumour flew through the Lloyds stand like a prairee fire so much so it can't be ignored in my opinion. Lots of different views and versions and not a lot of real meat on the bones but enough to suggest it was a bit more than rumour. The downside is if it was just rumours 2+2 making 5 it could have a real demorilising effect especially if a couple of top players get sold, tricky one i admit but i don't think the people involved can just say "just wait a while longer"or "things are going on" without a bit more detail.

i think the deal (if it happens) can take two ways - we buy back some of the debt and therefore will have very little to spend or we dont and we have the option of bringing in new faces. we all hope of the latter but i think we may need to be realistic that this certainly does not mean we will bring in millions of quality players!

I think if nothing was happening we would have had a club statement saying" club not for sale, looking for investment and not to sell , we haven't received offer on headed paper etc "
I heard about this rumour last week from a reliable source in the banking industry in the town .
I believe PUSB

my own assessment of this is that whilst GH remains the only "realistic" alternative there is still a long way to go.

I think the current fervour is driven more by the fans desperation for change and chinese whispers rather than any real details. I don't think it will be done by 7th January suggested by some (too quick in terms of what needs to be done), I certainly do not think a deal has been done for the Ricoh (would need Council meeting approval for starters not the say so of one man, needs proof of club viability not just money thrown at it for example), I wouldn't bank on spending new owners money this January (funds more likely to come from sales of players and savings).

Given previous history it is hard to believe much that comes out of the club in statements etc but that doesn't mean that we should ignore the possibility they are true in whole or in part. Not that much is coming out just now.

I think keeping calm and giving the process time is best just now. Making a bid doesn't guarantee success in purchasing. I think there are a lot of people putting these "snippets" from various sources together and arriving at the answer they want without any real facts to support it. Plenty of things being stated as fact when they are actually hearsay or opinion. Best to concentrate on the team and help maintain the change in fortunes on the pitch.

By the way I am not saying in staying calm we should not protest - we must all do what we feel to be right to save our club. Above all your team needs your support

Something is happening behind the scenes but it doesn't mean either that it is close or that it will be successful. Only time will tell, keep calm and deal with those things we can affect.

Sorry if that is a dampener to some. Just my opinion which of course could be right or wrong

Seem to be on the wind up more than usual LS. Also would be nice to see you put something positive. From what I can gather you think the club is screwed both ways?

I agree with you OSB i think people are reading to much into rumours and speculation .

Did SISU say only recently that the club is not up for sale and they are looking for investers to work with them ?

Did Hoffman say that there was not a deal in the offing and when there was he would be the first to publicise it ?

I think that there are to many people ready to believe any rumour they hear out of desperation and will clutch at any straw. Talks of deadlines etc is premature.
Saying that i sincerly hope i am proved wrong and our club will be saved from SISU.

If a deal was agreed in the next week how long would you estimate due dilligence etc to take OSB?

I don't believe SISU really think anyone would invest millions into the club only to work alongside them. I presume it's said far more in hope than expectation.

Only someone with half a brain would co-invest with Sisu.

WHAT!!?

Is this a Marlon King thing? Are you saying i'm that 'Who' bloke from GMK?

You really are an odd, depressed fellow. Do us all a favour and pack in supporting City. Tell me this - if the takeover is successful, they buy the Ricoh and fund us to promotion back to the Premier League what will you say?

I'd be over the f*cking moon but I know you'd find something absolutely twatish to moan about. Seriously your life must suck.

*Apologies to the rest of you but seriously over the years this guy has never had a positive word to say about this football club or our City - and I genuinely think he's here on a wind-up.

In his defence, what has there been to actually be positive about over the years? Prompting him to say something nice based on what's at present a combination of hearsay and hope seems an odd tact.

Look fellas whether you believe the rumours or not, or whether Hoffman is the man or not, support SISU or not (imagine the latter in most cases), is sticking together and supporting the club not the most important thing? If people want to be negative then they can be. I personally need something to hold onto in these dark times and I choose to believe that there are positive things going on behind the scenes and it is only a matter of time before they are announced. Who is with me on that I am not concerned with. However arguments in the camp is pointless. Play Up Sky Blues!
