This window completely shows that Sisu and Fisher have given up on the club.

No ambition to get some experienced players in to have a go at staying in this league.

Sisu have parked the bus and as long as the club is breaking even they don't need to worry about this investment.

Is there any point to the rest of this season as a Coventry fan?

I'm not sure, them rejecting all bids was a bit strange. Wasn't expecting the hardball approach.

I still think Beavon will end up better than Sordell for us if he plays constantly even if it is just for bringing other people into play.

Clarke is a decent old head at the back, then there is Foley too if he plays much at RB.

We could have done with a decent targetman though and a battler in the central midfield, I guess we will see if any of the trialists will be signed in CM.

It could have been a much worse window with Willis, Stevenson and Haynes being sold.

Which players that have moved tonight in League One would you have taken?

It could. I'm sure the CT said Nasseri had a decent game and put some good crosses in, in the U21 game on Monday.

Maybe he might be the answer. Kyel Reid had pretty much zero end product and for all his trickery he doesn't really offer much as a threat.

There is Vernam too up there.

Yep.

Would expect a front two of Vernam and Beavon with the new young lad to come on from the bench if needed.

We do need better quality into the box though for sure.

Le Fondre (wouldn't come to us)

However to do the above if the rumours of values are true ironically in this situation I would have accepted cut price sales.

Stevenson 1 million if that was offered
Willis £500k if that was offered
Haynes 200k if that was offered.

All undervalued but if it allows you to sign the people that allows you to stay up. Then needs must.

What's Venus' part in all this, that's 2 windows he's cocked up. Probably scared players away with his droning boring drivel voice.

Venus controls the budget , is responsible for player negotiations aswel I believe .
Find it odd we keep missing out on all our targets , he will know why

Willis and Haynes are worth nowhere near those fees. Willis undervalued at half a million? At least be sensible Ajose is a midget isn't he and the carlisle guys record above League Two is not good - also he went for a fee to a club near the top of the league

I know that's why I said we would have needed to have accepted those offers. (Money talks)
Those are the rumoured fees we turned down. If that true even if we think it is undervalued. I would have took it to get a striker.

Haynes offer was a lot less and I assume the club think they will get more in the summer. Willis is never going to attract a Championship club and League one clubs will never pay those fees.

Considering we are down in all likelihood, the real question is will they go for more or less in the summer, not whether we could have somehow saved the season with some signings.

Also feel a bit sorry for Andy Turner, deadline day is pretty busy for the footballing side of it and he's had to resort to shite to try and get any articles at all.

Also seems they have been misleading most people who read it, "skip's off" splashed across the back page FFS.

Perhaps I'm not keeping up but we didn't get anyone in? BUT we kept our star players? So each year we call them out for selling our best to cash in (Madison etc) but when they don't do that you are complaining? dammed if you do and dammed if you don't?

Star players? I've seen one shot on target from a Coventry player in the last 2 games.

What have I learnt in this transfer window?
We're getting relegated again.

It's ok we're breaking even and possibly making a slight profit.

I think what we have learned in the past is that when we are near the top of the table and need strengthening to push for promotion, SISU won't loosen the purse strings.
Now we have learned that when we are bottom of the table and in danger of relegation, SISU wont loosen the purse strings.
SISU is consistent in their demand that the club be self-supporting and we can expect no help from them.

Yeah, totally agree on this. We brought in 3 players in the window and didn't lose any permanent players who we wouldn't have wanted to.

Many were certain that Stevenson, Willis, RCC and maybe Harries would go but they're all still here.

Not really sure what to make of the window as it's unusual for us to turn offers down. I'm a little shocked to be honest.

It's now up to Slade to earn a messiah tag and get some more points on the bloody board.

Oh, and win us a cup.

I am most happy about Stevenson staying.
