Look who is liking your posts. The guy who said slade was the savior in the league and now has egg on his face. Im sure he wnata to blame everyone but slade

When you made that thread you got 99% disagreeing with you. So stop being rude about tiny minds and realise you are chatting shit.

Egg on my face... I'll be one of the first to save he's not done what I/we all hoped. For sure RS has not managed to drag this piss poor sorry team up off its arse.... even after all the previous 3 sides he's saved from relegation it shows what a truly terrible inadequate state this club was left in.
You say TM saved us from relegation... sure he did thankfully on the last day. But he inherited a stronger side than what he left us this season. TM failed to adapt to the league/level we're at, ultimately that has now cost us severally.
League one and two sides are largely built over a summer alarm bells were ringing throughout August... you not remember the meltdown on here when Andre Wright arrived at 11pm?
Where is the strikers TM brought to the club? Sordell, Thomas and 2 loans.... proved fruitful didn't it.
Released Arron Martin for Jordan Turnbull.... and paid a fair fee!
TM after each of those "10" games gave the same speech... we're asking boys to do a mans job...
fast forward to his mate MV... this sides not good enough to compete in league one.... heavy defeats at Oxford, humiliated at Cambridge in the cup.
All Sir TM's players.....
I'd like to remind you I was on the TM bus in a wonderland too what feels like a lifetime ago.
RS nearly been here 6 weeks, it's a huge ask for him to turn a whole summer of poor recruitment around.
How do you suggest RS comes in and picks up confidence shot kids and make them produce form of play off contenders after being told there boys and not good enough for league one...
RS I thinks tried to bring in players to improve the confidence, physicality and add leadership. I think all but Reilly and Foyle has shown they've added to the team.
Unfortunately he's not been able to address the goals issue it seems at this point without writing the lad Vernam and folivi off. Finding strikers in January is hard, especially to a failing club bottom of league one.

Is Haynes not out of contract in the summer. If not they will get more if he plays a full season.
If Stokes takes over and he just sits on the bench we won't get an offer for him.
I agree and think we should have accepted the Willis offer.

Because he is under 24 the club is entitled to compensation from any club Ryan signs for provided he has been offered a new contract.
How to calculate Club compensation for players under 24

Disagreeing with what? I asked for people's opinions and like I said I was only talking about from a statistical position of 1st to bottom 4 and then if we go down.

When people look back statistically.

I certainly do not think he was one of the worst managers ever. Obviously not, but from a statistical standpoint he took us from almost certain nailed on playoffs to bottom 4.

Pointless arguing with you. I was merely trying to see what others thought on the matter. No right or wrong about it.

I bet in 20-30 years time when people look back and they see that we went from 1st to bottom 4 they will look and see who was the manager and wonder what the hell went wrong and I don't think he will be looked back upon that fondly. Yeah, as an attacking manager and nice bloke, but then also as a poor manager for us.

If we get relegated people will look back on slade mostly. And venus losing streak which actually anchored us to.bottom. your thr inly dunb fucj who eill talk aboit a manager in charge for 10 games of the season.

Least our new strengrhened defence dont let goals.in eh? Oh wait we conceded 4 and 3 in seperate games?

Lol super slade performing miracles with his amazing new signings.

Have to give them longer. Not looked great so far, but Rawson is still dead new and Foley got injured. All of them haven't played many games for us yet. They need to start performing soon though for sure.

Can't say they are bad signings yet and we can't say they are amazing signings either.

I am guessing though that the only person that has mentioned amazing signings is you.

Ha, now who's being rude?

Will you please stop banging on about 10 games in charge! What on earth has that got to do with Mowbray bringing in poor players?

I hope he gets a good old 4-4-2 and picks the players for it. Have them play for the shirt, harassing and chasing down balls and getting in the oppositions face. Get some real endeavor going and spirit. Give Stevenson his head and get some pace in the side. If he stays negative to not lose, then we will fail. It won't be on TM it will be on Slade. We have got far worse under his stewardship.
This team spirit ot which you speak, play for the shirt, fight for each other, never give
Up attitude etc etc, well' it doesn't just happen and a manager can't just instil it.
It forms over time through trust, comradeship, togetherness and the willingness too
Do whatever's necessary to help your teammates, whatever the cost.
It's the reason some teams get out of this league, despite a lower budget, lower crowds
And far less potential, as a club we are a million miles away from it.

It's not just football it applies in any walk of life, a production line in a factory will produce
much more with a workforce that interacts and socialises together, than a workforce that
Is cobbled together every other week. Any manager that tasted success here under the
Conditions the club is being run, should immediately buy a ticket for any lottery anywhere
In the world, because he would undoubtedly be "One Lucky Bastard"

I believe we have the players to be doing much better. I also believe we need a goalscorer like Armstrong who can be relied upon for a goal.
Top that with Slades seemingly ineptitude in both tinkering too much with the side and his poor tactics. We don't have the personnel to play the way he would prefer.
He needs to play to strengths of the players we have. You can see the awkwardness of some players on the pitch looking almost lost as to what their job is.

We never played 4-4-2 under Mowbray and didn't win in 10 - what are you on about?

Sisu have.clearly.lied or.lowered budget. First it was too 10. Now its lower mid table.

Mowbray went players to get us auto promotion. We missed out..no plan b

Slade getting players to help us get out of rleegation xone. No fees available so hos mihht not work out either

But.mowbray has a 8th place finish with us. Slade cant even get s league win yet. Stop kidsing his ass if you are gonna also chat shit about tm

It counts as one of our best positional finishes in my lifetime.
It's absolute shite considering the position we were in that season. We should have at the very least made the playoffs. There was no plan B when things were going wrong. That's where a manager earns his salt.

I dunno how many times this window I have seen people say how this is exactly the sort of signing we should have made in the summer.
Another classic regularly spoken was mowbray couldn't find a centre half and Slade gets one within a week.

Yep. Think nearly all of us picked up on that immediately.

Also, TM talked of getting a big strapping centre half in, letting the rather slender Martin go, but then merely replaced him with the also non strapping, no better Turnbull.

And 8th counted for nothing considering where we were in the league.

Last season we totally and completely blew it. Not much to be proud of there for sure. :(

Can I ask you one question... and I'm not digging you out or trying to make a mug out of you...I'm not on this forum to do that and never had.
Question... who was responsible for shaping our squad for the 16/17 season with the new rules of no loan windows and all deals completed by 31st August and inline with our 23 other competitors in league one?
All off the back of what's regarded as one of our best seasons for a number of years despite it not lasting the distance, helped develop the footballing pathway of AA and Murphy and others with seemingly good relationships with other established clubs.

venus won 4 out of 5 with this shit squad. 4 out of 5! we came close to beating scunthorpe who were leaders at time. if we had we would have been 4pts off playoffs or something like that

the summer didnt go swimmingly. 100% agree. but it did not leave us with a squad that has no hope of staying up.

as for 16/17 season:

mowbray had a bad start,he shuda stuck around and woulda turned it round imo
venus had a great start, then he was found out and lost loads
slade has had a shit start and has 7 of his own players. majority of his games been played with 4 or 5 of his own signings.

time to stop the excuses. mowbray left in september. its now february. there has been a window since.

sort it out slade.

The football under TM this season was not a massive issue for me it was our lack of grit and determination and by mid September confirmed our fears, the squad assembled was far to weak and would lose more often than not.
TM quoted after every game, warning signs were there when your manager by mid September sets alarm bells ringing after each match but we had tried and we're rarely disgraced by more than 2 goals.
MV came in and had the bounce that little lift of 10/20% and yes it proved fruitful... so between 11 and 16th game we had a spell.
Then the wheels came right off... heavy defeats at Oxford, the cup at Cambridge, inability to dispose of a morcombe side another club in turmoil at the first attempt. MV saying the players ain't even up to competing in league one, not good enough.
I'll ask you again how your supposed to them make those confidence drained kids to create play off form to climb the league?
January is very hard to correct a whole summer of mistakes and you can see he's tried with a leader, hardened central defender in clarke. TM tried all summer but ultimately aimed too high for what realistically we could attract... tried to get a crocked Wilson...
if you'd of gave or give a man like Slade a summer of recruitment I guarantee we'd be a far stronger squad in all areas on the pitch, something hard to do on frees and loans in a January window with no cash.
So ultimately it's the summer that's cost us.

slade doesnt have that base because of venus losing the plot. the squad still more than capable of winning games

i want slade to suceed andim aware these convos paint me a anti slade. im not. i just think its ridicuklous anyone can continually blame the summer for us being ROCK BOTTOM. like i said in october/november 4 wins from 5 got us thinking about playoffs ffs. 2 months later you cant say oh actually its all about august

the summer played a part in us being nowhere near as good as last season
it did not make us foregone conclusion for relegation

Majority of his games have been played with 4 or 5 of his own players? Sorry, but that is not true.

Bristol 4-1 City - Slade's first game, NO Slade players (before window)

Peterborough 1-1 City - NO Slade players (again before the window)

City 2-2 Bolton - Clarke, Beavon and Reilly, so 3 players.

Chesterfield 1-0 City - Foley, Clarke, Reilly and Beavon, 4 players.

City 0-1 Fleetwood - Rawson, Clarke and Beavon, so 3 players

Northampton 3-0 - Rawson, Beavon, Clarke and Vernam, so 4 players.

Majority of games and 4 or 5 players? Incorrect I'm afraid. There's just 1 game with 4 Slade signings playing unfortunately.

Actually, no, my mistake. Missed Reilly off two games. ;)

Let's me recheck that.

Kind of a cleft stick really potentially short of players if they go potentially short of money if they don't. Perhaps Slade set the values with half an eye on needing to keep players not sell them. Perhaps the sort of clubs interested were never going to pay the price. Perhaps it was all talk. Perhaps they realise that if we do get relegated the players we have will be more affordable than bringing others in. Perhaps the value was right and the offers poor. Perhaps they got their timing wrong, bluffed and messed up. Perhaps they really did not want to sell or need to. Who knows

Perhaps slade said if they go i go and SISU know Venus wouldnt want to play manager again and if fisher was in the dogout there would be uproar from the fans that do go to games??

It is the summer that cost us. Venus of course is probably as much to blame for that as Mowbray.

The squad that was built was unable to compete on a level footing in this league.

Probably the best signing was McCann and that was because at least he gave us a bit of much needed steel.

Your starting to make more sense now... I'm agreeing with some points.
However the summer recruitment we don't. To me this is mainly where your business is done and you then strengthen with your loans in the last weeks of August.
You say step up Slade and sort it out... we all want that. We all wanted TM to do that all summer tho, but I assume you see my points on that now. TM didn't rate grafters like clarke where Slade is happy to trust him and most likely players of a similar mould... these are the type of players we realistically should of been shopping for and complimented with some "footballers" you create a side worthy of league one.
Slades I'm sure has drained his phone and contacts daily trying to find the answer.. so hard you must agree in a window.
However to use a TM quote... we are where we are...
RS I'd say has 3 players of "his" choice in clarke, foley and Beavon. The addition of Reilly was convenient to cover a potential loss of Stevenson and Rawson for Willis if he left. The signings of Vernam and floivi is more of a all we could get or stick with what we've got.

I agree sunmer didnt go well. Mowbray miased out on his men and ended up gettibg kids in.

Slade is now teying tonget men in . Thats all good.

I just dint agree that squad after summer is sooo bad that relegation guaranteed and miracle needed to avoid it

Venus fucked up that losing streak was ridiculous. Sisu didnt act quick enough. Venus was mentally broken man and squad prob picked up on it.

Slade can keep us up. Mowbray could keep us up. Any cometent manager can.

We need a run of 2 or 3 wins in a row. I hope slades signings do well. I think mowbray would have welcomed some of slades signings hinself! I just thibk old squad could get job done too with right management.

We should have replaced TM asap and not left it with Venus. Sure he had the little blip at the start, but he really didn't see to have much of a clue what he was doing.

Let's hope Slade uses all 7 players he's brought in for the game this Saturday and that it pays off.

Hear this about last season as well. It makes no sense. You've got to give credit for getting where they were as well, a season is 46 games long and has to be taken as a whole. Mowbray did well last season regardless of how the first half went and Adams (or more accurately Wise) did well the season we finished 8th.

8th in the Championship wasn't our best finish for 45 years, we were in the Prem for 30 of those. Strachan has to go down as the best performing manager in the league since Hill simply for getting us to 11th that season. Then Adams. Then Mowbray. You can only beat what's put in front of you, but surely you can't argue 17th in League One is equal to 17th in The Championship is equal to 17th in the Prem? That would be ridiculous. Personally I'd argue 11th in the Prem is a better finish than 8th in the Championship, but I accept it's open to debate as it's apples and oranges.

2 reasons for me, the summer and MV managerial spell, sure started well but it's the damage November and December did to the squad.
And on another controversial note it's where in my eyes like him or not Steve Evans should of came in when TM left.
The task is proving too much for even a positive man like Slade.
Team is was so young it needed loving and galvanising in November before the rut started.
Just my viewpoints of corse from all the games I've seen this season.

fine margins. a few mins away from having 4-6 pts more. then table woudlnt look so bad

we can do this
Peterborough, Bolton, Fleetwood. Points all thrown away late on.

We could be looking a lot healthier.

We need that win on Saturday. Teams around us okay each other, so a win would certainly gain points on some teams and potentially all of those if they draw and we win.

I remarked on that previously, TM's heart really wasn't in it so he made mistakes, big ones. TM wanted a promotion challenging team but SISU were never going to pay for it, the job was keep us up, but that will not be achieved.
