To be honest, I'd still like to see George Thomas get a proper run up front. He was scoring the the U23s, and maybe with a Beavon or a Yak laying things on he'd do it again.
I do like George Thomas! I believe he will be a Good Clubman and will become our latter day LLoyd Mcgrath

He'll probably be sold to a 'big' club at the end of the season. Strikers like him don't wait around for long.
I agree Gazolba, pay day for Sisu, but probably the end of next season so CCFC can break even !
especially with the drop in season ticket for next season !

Never really got to see him before he was poached unfortunately.
He wasn't poached.
Realise there is a market for Acadamy kids especially those reaching 15/16 although Sambou is a little older. There will be others flogged off before they are 16 too. Our owners see it as business.
The CET should get their teeth into this.

Teeth into what? Young footballers being sold?

From what I recall he was offered a contract and told that he was going to playing in the first team. Instead he let he current contract expire and signed with Everton.
I have absolutely no doubt if he made it to the first team he would have been sold eventually but he was poached as the club would not have wanted to go the tribunal way

He was nowhere near the first team, he was behind George Thomas in the pecking order.

Isn't he also getting paid a decent wedge too?

No he turned down his first professional contract.
His advisers said he should already be in and around the first team.
TM told them he would training with the first team preseason and playing in the pre season friendlies.
Then it was up to him to do well and he could be the next Rashford.
They said they no longer wanted to continue talks.
In other words he was already tapped up for Everton.

That's the danger with Pontecelli who is also 18.
Sambou scored had 12 at this same point that Pontecelli has scored 20 for the under 18's. Then a big Premier league team came poaching.

It would be nice to hear about him training with the first team and maybe making the bench. To try and avoid a repeat scenario, if that is even possible to avoid.

Being moved on quietly for potential reasons instead of letting them blossom here for two or three years and perhaps getting decent wedge for them.

What are they going to be digging into and exposing? Young footballer moves to Premier League team?

Ponticelli is quite interesting because his scoring record at the Strachan place was nothing short of phenomenal. Yet you just think well that is just that level.
Then to bang in 20 by February inthe under 18's you have to start to sit up and take note.
Sometimes if someone is scoring goals for fun it's worth having them as an option.
Steve Livingstine forexample for me he was never going to be able to keep up doing what he was doing. He did not have the natural attributes.
However he was on fire so needed to be inthe team he couldn't stop scoring. (I am not comparing the two as they completely different scenarios just pointing out what you can do when your confidence is sky high)
Jordan is in that mode at the moment. So why not have him in the squad purely for that one moment we are desperate for a goal on top of a game and there are ten minutes left.
Also if he gets that opportunity maybe just maybe he might think twice whenthe bigger club comes with the view of popping him in their under 23's

yawn. pay day for the club, you mean.
Your missing the point ! CCFC sell players to brake even, so SISU don't have to put any money into the Club ! :wacky:

Still don't get the point? Club sells player...

Point is we don't sell at the right time, we sell because we need to break even that season. We can't hold onto players and let them go on our terms (or at least it feels that way). That said, seems like we've done that a bit this Jan with Willis and Stevenson.

I think the overall point is that we don't feel like we have moved forwards or even stood still as a squad for years. Just shitter and shitter year by year. Our league position would back that feeling up.

Evidently not all clubs slide backwards year on year.

No one has an issue with "club sells player", people have an issue with "squad gets worse every year". Whatever Sisu's strategy is, it ain't working.

Spot on mate. The ever decreasing circle. The club is badly run (understatement of the century)

Fine. So say that rather than bullshit like "payday for SISU" which is incorrect and misleading.

I don't get why people have to make shit up about the worst owners in history? Just call them on the real stuff?

I'm not the only one who can play on words !
Let me help you out here, if you're not spending money, means your saving money .
Which I interpret as pay day for Sisu. IMOP, if that's OK with you ! :wacky:

Surely they have to actually be spending it to save it?

I wasn't going to go out and blow my savings on a car today, so it's not a payday that I didn't.

Otherwise every day would be payday, bonus!

Simple way to solve the having to sell players to break even stuff is to buy tickets so the club has enough revenue to hold players if necessary.

He is a good player and an excellent finisher but the players around him are superb. They create lots of chances. More than the first team would. Hence 8 scorers in the 9-0 win.
