A young U18 side featuring 3 U16s and a lot of first year scholars beat Huddersfield 3-1 this afternoon.

Naylor

Green
McMahon
Eccles
Hickman

Burroughs (U16)
Johnson

Smith
Finn
Hunt (U16)

Crowther (U16)

Kyle Finn, Morgan Crowther and Lewis Green scored the goals to ensure an 11th consecutive win.

Any word on how promising the three U16's are supposed to be, STP?

Hunt joined from Southampton and Crowther joined from Blackburn. Burroughs is a local lad who has come through the system. Difficult to judge how promising they are but apparently all 3 didn't look out of place on Saturday and Crowther even scored with a nice turn of pace and a confident finish.

It's a shame Ngandu is injured (I think) because he probably would have been involved too

I believe we have also signed a LB from Forest and a CM from Wolves. Possibly through recommendations from Scott Curry (Head of Academy Recruitment, previously at Wolves) and Tony Cook (Head of Academy Coaching, previously at Forest)

Coventry City: Addai (GK), Whitmore, Ford, Harries, Camwell, Maycock, Bayliss, Shipley, Spence, Dev. Kelly-Evans (C), Ponticelli.

Subs: Skuza (GK), Thompson, Hickman, Finn, Sayoud.

Lost 2-1 against a physical Birmingham side. U23 season looks over after a good start. Tom Bayliss scored a great goal though according to the Twitter feed as he continues to develop into a fine player

The U18s lost their first game in 14 yesterday away at Crystal Palace 2-1 with a few more U16s playing - one in goal and one at centre back I believe. Jordan Ponticelli was the scorer, his 24th strike of the season

Jak Hickman is apparently the pick of the bunch

Yes he's a good player but I see his future further up the pitch because of his attacking qualities.

Dan Smith has been released which is a bit unfortunate. I think he's a good footballer personally but IMO he doesn't score enough goals for where he plays on the pitch

Signed:
Jordan Ponticelli
Tom Bayliss

Offered:
Chris Camwell
Reece Ford
Jordon Thompson
Jak Hickman
Kyle Finn

Released:
Ronee Hendricks
Dagry Mantsounga
Dan Smith

Not known:
Konrad Skuza (didn't play for 18s Saturday/not on bench for 23s on Monday like he usually is?)

I would be surprised if Cammy doesn't sign it as he has put bits on Facebook saying how happy he is and looking forward to another year with Ponticelli.

I think he's under contract until June 2018,Korad is the current u18's goalkeeper

Yes he got a 2 year contract. Jacob Whitmore's contract is the only one which is up from the first year pros. I would be very surprised if Skuza wasn't offered a contract though, I think he's a good goalkeeper

So we could gave four pro goalies on the books seems to many to me.

The U18s have bounced back from last weeks defeat at Palace with a 4-1 victory away at Crewe. Dan a Smith, who won't be offered pro terms, scored a brace with Jordan Ponticelli (25th of the season) and Billy Stedman also on the scoresheet. Just 2 games remaining now, both at home. Barnsley next Saturday and Palace on the Tuesday after. Looks like the the title will go down to the final game of the season.

Let's hope the first team can follow suit :)

Few stats on Wembley yesterday, great to see the young players stepping up to the mark. Must be some very proud staff members.

And the U23s play Forest at the Ricoh today 2pm if anyone's well enough from yesterday :)

Burge, Haynes, DKE, Willis, Bigi, Stevenson, Thomas plus Harries on the bench. Who am I missing?

Are they counting Josh Ruffels?

The U18s can win the league tomorrow if they beat Barnsley and Charlton lose against Sheffield United. If Charlton draw and we win then the league is all but won mathamatically, would take a 6+ goal swing in our final game against Palace at home (Tuesday, 1pm).

Current table:

11am at the AHC.

Free football at the Ricoh this afternoon as the 23s take on Charlton:

18s final regular league game tomorrow too. 1pm at home to Palace. Think it'll be a younger team than usual as regular 18s played 90 mins Sat and there's a 23s game today which some of them will be involved in
