I know before the first game of the season the season the heart rules the head, however this season I am genuienly and justifiably optimistic.

Barring Wembley, I haven't felt this excited about a game since the TM run a few seasons ago, and never before the first game.

High pressure and expectations on the players today, let's hope they perform.

Also, I rarely remember my dreams, but I have a vivid memory of last nights; McNulty scoring a pen at the end in front of the away fans....

A sign perhaps/hopefully?!

Yes. It would be good to see the interest in CCFC... and what people are interested in by comparing the figures. I assume Ricoh attendances will drop, at least at first. But we could see how many are following at a distance via here. Or at least gauge the feeling a bit.

None of this is very scientific of course, but when you look at things like how many twitter followers the club has compared to everyone else in the division, the popularity of this place, the scramble for tickets when we do anything half decent, you realise there is a latent fan base out there that we do not come close to exploiting. Understand the apathy of course, but today I'm like a kid at Christmas. There are those who cannot make today for good reasons, but if you're a city fan, can afford it and have nothing on today, why the hell wouldn't you go? Tuesday in November when we're mid-table fine, but today? Don't get it.

Surely we have goals amongst our strikers/attackers...

Beavon, McNulty, KT, Duck, Max, JJ, Vincenti, Pontecelli

Ok. Sitting here in full kit, sky blue wig, rattle plus my sandwich box.

Is it time to leave yet?
I can't go today, which pisses me off. However, I'm really happy for you, Torch. It's been a long and tough wait for you.

To be honest, this is the most excited I've been in ages, largely because the whole iFollow thing means that I can now actually watch us play week in, week out like an actual proper supporter :joyful:

Think it'll finish 1-1 today, Beavon to score. I reckon it'll take a little bit longer before the team starts to bed in properly.

So it begins, I'm feeling apprehensive as we've been here many times before, hoping this is the year, only for it to end in disappointment. I'm feeding of the excitement of my lad who has been bouncing around since we got back off holiday yesterday to find our tickets inside the door.
Oh and 2-1 Beavon and Duckens hypergrade off the bench. McNulty with both assists.

I reckon whatever the result today people will need to take a chill pill.

If we win, we aren't storming the league with 100 points. If we lose then we aren't finishing bottom.
Both are possible, of course ;)

Anyway, been optimistic all summer, but now it's here I'm nervous it'll be the inevitable damp squib. In work, so not about to see it... we'll see if that's a blessing or a curse, eh.

I'm on edge , come on you mighty skyblues ,up and at them.
Like others I feel at long last we might do well this season and it is a bit exciting and surreal to have optimism at the start
Waiting for the inevitable 2-0 home loss but hey we can all dream can't we

Yes, but unfortunately for me I am in Berlin on a 2,2 KM street full of hundreds of different bierstands. I'll just have to grin and bear it.....;-)
