Half time 1-0 up

Not an entertaining fixture, but I think we're the better team.

County very much came with one aim; take us out and hoof it up to Ameobi and Stead

Rod doing very well! McNulty despite a lot of pressure from County CB's is putting himself about a bit

Beavon is a work horse. Not stopped.

Vincenti hasn't lost a header yet

Not a bad half. City look quite good in the middle and bright up front but not actually created much. For them ameobi and stead showing their experience...they posing defence a few problems and hit post.
Happy so far...jones making better decisions than last season

Are we aiming goal kicks at Vincetti?

I'd rather be at the Ricoh entertaining fixture or not than at work right now.

Impressed with Doyle and McDonald. Beavon struggling with the defensive physicality. Vincenti has a nice touch on him. Could be a big player for us. Kelly too.

Would be inclined to change either McNulty or Beavon as the game wears on.

Ref is crap.

Some initial thoughts, only based on 45 minutes so obviously things can change but:

Not convinced by Grimmer, he's seen lots of the ball but not done much with it. Not sure he's better than DKE.

McDonalds looks a great signing; assured on the ball, happy to get stuck in and good positional sense.

Kelly looks solid, never going to change a game but works hard and seems to get in the way and always be an option.

Doyle is Doyle, but he actually looks good in L2. Still can't pass long though.

McNulty will cause defenders issues with his movement and pace. As will Beavon, albeit McNulty looks the sharper at present. Both are being battered by their defenders with no protection from the ref.

Jones is frustrating as always. The bonus is when hes good, he's better than last year as the defenders are worse. Let's hope he finds consistency.

Vincenti wins headers but not sure what else yet.

Stokes looks rusty.

O'Brien hasn't had much to do, his kicking is better than Burge but not great.

Hyam has been fine.

Overall we look good. L2 defenders are poor, pace and pressure will be vital this season.
