You've got to be the thickest fuck on the internet!
c**t.

Clearly before you ended up twatting off you never bothered to notice he was being compared to the next Messi.

Exactly!
Ponticelli may be young and raw, but he's got to be better than Beavon, Biamou, Mcnulty and Vincenti.
Let's be honest, if Nazons goes back to wba in January, and jones gets sold or injured, we can kiss goodbye to promotion.
I'd certainly give ponty a good run between now and the transfer window opening in the new year, when we can address things.

Cockwomble.

Correction No differentiating attribute meant to say.

Look I hope the lad makes it. Just don't see the obsession with lad, I and a few others were chuckling away n the stands at Barnet thinking wtf.

Omfg, what are you on??? Enough is enough.

Better than Beavon,Biamou, McNulty and Vincenti?? Wtf? all you Ponticelli lovers I just don't get this....have I missed something? He maybe a natural goal scorer at under 18 football and under 23, but for me he shouldn't even be on the bench. He may well become a decent striker at league level in a couple of years but ffs he's not right now.

IMO he maybe a bully at development level, but I don't see it right now against League two defences.
He has no pace, still looks overweight and doesn't offer the team anything sounds harsh but sorry I see nothing in him.At best he will become the next Cody McDonald.

Biamou has been outstanding has defended from the front wins a lot headers just desperately needs a goal that his selfless running and commitment has deserved. McNulty will come good and I for one agree with Robbins sentiments on McNulty.

But honestly get a grip. We are doing very well indeed btw....especially when defending from the front.

Laughable desperate levels of cult heroship levels on a kid who imo has no outstanding attribute at this moment.

If he also ends up with a professional career average of 1 in 3. He will have had a fantastic career.

I'm sure if in thirty years time he looks back and thinks the only goals he ever scored were at gillingham he will truly think he made it

I agree with most of what you say here, although I wouldn’t be so quick to write him off, we just haven’t seen enough of him yet. He does look ‘heavy’, presumably his natural build, but I’m sure City will be looking at that. We need to know what his overall game is like, can he hold the ball up, build play, defend/press, or is he an out and out poacher, which may not be enough for us at this time. Be interesting to see how he develops. I thought both Biamou and McNulty played well yesterday, worked hard, and were close to goals in the second half yesterday. The lack of goals is a concern, but I do think we have some good players up front, who will improve as the season goes on.

If you think Cody mcdonald has had fantastic career. Yup agreed decent scoring record at non league level and at Gillingham but I'm sure his benchmark is set a bit higher than him..lol.
Remember the Thorn gem of "I always wanted Cody McDonald over Adam Lefondra, he was our first choice"!

Wasn't comparing him to Messi!
Just pointing out there is a 16-year old having success in Serie A, so saying Ponticelli is too young at 19 to play at the lowest level of league football in England is ridiculous.
Our three main strikers McNulty, Beavon and Biamou have scored ONE goal between them all season.

Using the exception to the rule to prove your point is deeply flawed. How many players are actually ready at 16? Rooney clearly was, but even the likes of Messi didn’t really shine till 19. Besides, these are either world class or potentially world class players. Ponticelli was signed as an academy player at 17, he’s been involved in a professional environment for barely 2-3 years. So I really do believe MR when he says ‘he isn’t up to standard yet’.

The main thing Ponticelli has got going for him is that he’s a natural goal scorer. So if we manage his development right, he’ll be a player who will be able to move up the leagues with us if we do get a bit of momentum.

The kid has got bags of potential, but, potential and current ability are two different things.

Therefore comparing him to the next Messi...

Ponticelli is a player I would use 20 minutes from the end of the game , especially where we have a high ratio of shots on goal but little end product. I do think he was brought on too late against Barnet. Cody McDonald... he was shiit, end of story.

Ponticelli- sounds like a town in Wales.
Wales - failed to qualify for the world cup.
The World Cup - being held in Russia.
Russia - what is the Russia with Ponticelli.

Its ok bringing him on for valuable minutes/experience in some games as to the chances we have it depends on how these chances are being created if Jones and co get the ball into the box for chances then maybe Ponticelli will score but unless he changes his game plan i cant see him creating many chances for himself but its amazing how a couple of goals transforms a player. Just look at Jones

I have in the past left it up to mark Robins to decide when it is best to play him but now we should give him a run of games its div 4 after all, he must play now surely
