Exactly that. What has that got to do with Juncker, Merkel, a German plot to rule Europe or “they” and who is losing a vote? Ratification usually involves party or people voting. I have said several times that I would vote for a federal Europe.

What do you mean „come clean“? You may not have noticed it, but the UK is not the same as 1960. what is identity? I think I have a British identity, but a British Asian aged 30 will have a different version of being British. The people in Schleswig Holstein have some state identity, but they accept their German and European culture. The countries are becoming more globalised anyway. I am not into this nation state thinking. I want a successful and content Europe. Less nationalism and more coming together. Sounds frightening for some xenophobic people though.

There is a massive difference between a federal government that rules one country and a federal government that rules 27 countries.
