I don't think we have played very well for some time now and both Swindon and Cambridge were not great performances and FGR and Accrington were both awful.

I deliberately avoided the cup games as there have been many a team over the years that has struggled in the league, but have excelled in the cup.

If we don’t go up this season, we’re in serious trouble IMO. Our better players in McNulty, Jones, Bayliss and Willis will be offloaded and the ST uptake could be as low as 3,000.

I can see it very much being like the Championship and L1 seasons where we just flirt with relegation before eventually falling down.

In Robins’ defence though, we’ve tried plenty of managers (even our chief scout!) and hundreds of players yet none of them have delivered a successful season on the pitch so I’m not sure what the answer is

Some people are so fickle. You only appeared when we lose and you crawl back into the woodwork when we win.

The worry is that players like McNulty, Grimmer, Willis and McDonald will want to leave if we don't go up this season, it will be very hard to replace them

Sack the manager who brought them in and they will want to go anyway offers or no offers. We've more chance of the likes of McNulty staying and playing under MR than any other manager.

As for JJ I'd be sceptical if any bids that replicate his value come in this summer given the injury he's coming back from. He will be here till January at a minimum I'd guess proving his fitness and form

I can’t believe people want this guy sacked and it isn’t even end of the season yet. Mark Robins has been great for us. I will try and convince:

1. It’s a very very close league for a start and we are still in the races for autos and definitely the playoffs. Season is by no means over.

2. Our club is in turmoil and has been for a good few years now. We just had a relegation last year and 4 managers in that season.

3. He has been given a top 10 budget and we know I would say as a fact we haven’t got the best budget in the league and we haven’t got the worst. We are about par.

4. We’ve lost our two best players with major injuries by November. Jones and andreu. Just plain bad luck.

5. Robins for my opinion has always come across genuine and gave frank assessments and when it’s not good enough he has told us. He gives the fans no bullshit.

At least give him until the end of the season and re evaluate and give him a chance to still make the playoffs and autos. Plenty of games and points left. Robins isn’t beyond scrunity but give the guy a full season at it.

However fair enough and I’ve changed thread where hopefully it becomes relevant as you say.

Some are for sure, Pax. The rest of us are just concerned and rightly so.

1. Our away form is poor.

2. Beaten easily in the last two games.

3. Not creating nearly enough chances in matches.

4. Key injuries, including the loss of our influential captain.

5. We are starting to drift away from the top 3.

Yeah, sure, could be just a blip, but there is a bit of a trend.

A positive result tomorrow will change all that and I agree, some of the thread titles are very much OTT on the doom and gloom front.

I am just in concerned mode at the moment, but we do need to get back on track very quickly and as I keep saying to people, for me the bar is higher. It's not about getting into the play-offs, it's about obtaining one of the automatic places.

It's not simple though is it. Far from it. Still 15 games to go, of course we can make the playoffs. Why do you seek a yes or no now?

We have to see if this is just a wobble or not at the moment, or the start of something a bit more serious.

I wouldn't get rid of him if we don't make the Top 7. Will I be pee'd off that we wouldn't have made the play offs? Yes. Will I compare the slump from Feb onwards to that of TM? Yes.

But MR is the first manager we've had in years that has brought some positivity to the club in a number of areas since he's been in. Maybe bar the first couple of months of the Mowbray season where we had Armstrong, Murphy, Kent etc.

Robins has given us our 2nd ever trophy. By and large, since he's been in, we've not been a selling club in the transfer windows (bar those who have wanted to go - Stevenson, Maddison). He's changed the mentality of a squad reliant on loans to a squad merely supplemented by loans. He's brought in our best contracted front man in years.

Yes we've had two sh!te results. But two defeats doesn't suddenly make him Mark Slade, regardless of the performance. In the same ways that 2 or 3 wins on the bounce doesn't make him Mark Guardiola.

The sole reason I'd give him until at least the first few months of next season, is that I'd look forward to see how he'd set up an attacking team with both Jones and Andreu in the side. I'ev said it before and I'll say it again...genuinely feel we've struggled badly adapting to injuries to key players this season. I know the same can happen next season but he needs to be given the chance to put out his first choice 11 in more games next season. He's probably only been able to do that 1 or 2 times this season.

He seriously needs to look at our away form though and 1 if not 2 new keepers for next season. Within their clangers this season, we'd comfortably 2nd or 3rd right now.

This is the problem. Ultimately the buck doesn't even stop with him... it stops with the people above him!

And even if we assume Robins is a crock o'shite as a team manager, who's been appointing the past managers since Coleman, and which of them has worked out?!? Unless you believe in monkeys, typewriters, and Shakespeare, it's not overly likely they'd suddenly get it right, is it?

And hopefully when Grimmer, Doyle, Burge, etc are back in March. We can make a charge with easier fixtures.

Id rest the whole first team squad vs Brighton, to get them all rested and recharged properly.

Id play the like of JCH and Ponticelli etc vs Brighton.

So basically our best manager for 27+ years needs sacking because he isn’t good enough, according to some. Maybe the problem is elsewhere and he happens to have just overcome that problem better than those before him. Even the managers who got backing from the owners during operation premiership couldn’t match his performance and there was no operation championship, although you could argue MR benefited from a team largely built for championship football in spell 1. However same can’t be said this time around. No operation league 1, a squad largely built from nothing due to the short termism that the club has been operating from and a squad that’s only been invested in by supporters.

Not getting my knickers in a twist at all. Just sitting here rather puzzled and a little bit baffled rather than annoyed or in any way irritated. I am not a knickers in a twist person.

In this instance it's a puzzled scratch of my head stance.

We are just 2 points off the playoffs. Would be really silly to say now we won't make it. I haven't got a crystal ball looking into the future and we obviously cannot judge on just the past two matches.

Can we turn it round? Course we can. Will we turn it round? Ask me again in 4 or 5 matches.

We get deflected too easily. Ultimately the owners are responsible for the direction of a club, its culture, its ethos. Moving the chairs on the decks won't change things - we've seen that plenty enough times before.
