The Florida trip is a huge family trip 12 of us in an 8 bedroom house
Hopefully there’s plenty of other rooms for my unsociable moments
But it will be great memories for the kids
Oh shit, the exact day of it. I was never planning to go if we made it anyway, I don't think my nerves could handle itIs that after the play-off final?
Off to Fuerteventura on Saturday, how was the weather?
My wife and her cousin are in charge and said they’ll drive so I’m just leaving them to itI've been, you'll have a great time Daz. If I could give you one tip - make sure you have a satnav!
I have the same problem. But at least I am lots closer to home. Visiting family in France. There are two airports within an hours drive. But they only fly to England every few days. And the same the other way. So will have a 6 hour drive to Calais and then another two hours drive to the game frim Dover. With the ferry crossing it will be about 11 hours each way.Oh shit, the exact day of it. I was never planning to go if we made it anyway, I don't think my nerves could handle it

Really good, about 23 or 24 each day with a bit of breeze so it was just the right temperature for me. The one day where the weather was less than great, it was about three hours of cloud at most and then back to sun in the afternoon. I'd imagine you've got a solid week of sun ahead of you
Sunny Skye in early June here!
Drive then bridge nowadays.drive then ferry? How long does that take NW?
Only usually go straight past Carlisle on the way to Scotland.Drive then bridge nowadays.
But still, four hours to Carlisle, stop overnight (Astute or anyone local, any tips for good places to eat in Carlisle?!?) then four hours to Glencoe, stop overnight, then four hours to Skye. Way back will have a stop near the Bells whisky distillery.
Never done Scotland before, bar popping over the border just to say I've been(!) so figured I may as well go big or go home.
Ta. I see what you mean, not... cheap, but not stupid on budget either. Might be tested!Only usually go straight past Carlisle on the way to Scotland.
But there is an excellent place caled David's. Not cheap but also not too expensive. The food is hard to beat. And that includes top restaurants. Not the sort of place I would take my little lad. But the girls yes as they are.never a problem.
Have the place set on my sat nav somewhere. Think it is Warwick Street.
The midges will be waiting for you!!!Sunny Skye in early June here!
Midweek prices are excellent. More costly at weekend. But not too bad if you are not feeding kids. And I have paid a lot more and not enjoyed the food at all in other places.Ta. I see what you mean, not... cheap, but not stupid on budget either. Might be tested!
That is Scotland for you :smuggrin:The midges will be waiting for you!!!
They've been around for about a month now and they're only going to get worse. I was told last week that eating a spoonful or marmite a day works but the problem with that is having to eat marmite. That is Scotland for you
I've been hiking in Scotland and me and my lad got bit badly by midges. You'll never get rid of them, they're there to stay !They've been around for about a month now and they're only going to get worse. I was told last week that eating a spoonful or marmite a day works but the problem with that is having to eat marmite.
We'll see if this is an elaborate practical joke or not. They've been around for about a month now and they're only going to get worse. I was told last week that eating a spoonful or marmite a day works but the problem with that is having to eat marmite.
