If I was a Notts County fan I would be ashamed to have him as a manager.

Notts County are a great club with a long tradition, and should be playing proper football in the right way. Ourselves, Luton and Notts County should be setting examples.

Nolan should be at somewhere like Wycombe. Or an ice-hockey or rugby team.

There goal should of been disallowed, watch Stead blocking Grimmer getting to the ball
I said that but none of the pundits picked up on it. I would go so far as to say he assaulted Grimmer And held onto his shirt right up till the ball hit the net! Talking about some of their methods if you replay the freekick where Notts put 2 players on the 6 yard box and then watch the 2 players move back towards the line out as the free kick is taken, the 2 players actually foul 2 of city defenders and stop them going for the ball

What don’t you get?

We got 2 big decisions. Whoopy do. For 75 mins we played them off the park
So what? What does he care about that?

Different game if they win 1st leg and digferent game if they make it 2-2 last night.

He is rightfully fuming with ref. Why do you need him to praise cov?

Just think people are being precious thats all

Nolan's long ball hoofers were totally outplayed in both legs.
His whining was an easy way of masking his tactical incompetence and naivety.
They were totally humiliated on their own ground and flattered by only losing 5-2.

Lol i just dont get it

Guy has a legit reason to be fuming

Ill leave it at that

What I don’t get is that people seem to be trying to balance the decisions by spotting other things.

Yes we were the better team and deserved to win - as well as the goals scored Biamou could have scored in the first minute, Shipley had a good chance and McNulty a couple of shots.

Every single goal was poor defending especially the third which was a joke.

So I get that but let’s be honest if Alex Ferguson or Arsene Wenger were on the receiving end of those decisions the ref would have needed body armour to get off the pitch

From my perspective cause it’s the right thing to do
From his he needs to grow up and role model how to act in defeat
For his fans they need to know he cares as much about how poor his team were and what needs to improve as much as how poor (in his opinion) the ref or linesmen were
For next season if he thinks that play will get promotion he’s wrong

you can’t be confused by spotting other things when Nolan is only spotting things. Over the course of the season things even themselves out and over the two legs to suggest the ref and linesmen were the reason we won is frankly insane

We were good value for our win.
But to be fair to Nolan he is spot on.
3 bad decisions against them over 2 legs costing 3 goals. If that was us everyone would be moaning including Robins.
He is right they were well on top when forte had one ruled out and when Biamou scored. So don’t think he has said anything wrong.
Yes we won 4-1 on the night, but had it been ruled onside it’s a totally different game.

He is a poor manager now because he sets out his team to play the worst possible football. But he will never be a great manager because he can’t lose with a bit of grace. Be sick with disappointment, annoyed with decisions but say something gracious about your opponent. The capacity to do that is either in you or it’s not.

What would Wenger Ferguson or Mourinhio have said in an interview afterwards, praised the opposition or focused on the decisions?

I can see his point to a degree, game goes 2-2 the shift in momentum could of been huge. We was already struggling to get a foot hold at that point in the second half.

I don’t see the issue with our goals, the minor offsides wasn’t really the or three yards used to be in on goal directly from it. County were able to regroup and could of dealt with the goals still.

No good moaning tho, over 180 mins they were beaten by a better side who shaded both legs in desire and performance

That’s great - yep

He’s found his level, his tactics are one dimensional and he has a clear lack of a plan b.

Fair play for getting his team to the play offs, but when they played against a team who can actually play football they were blown away. The higher up the leagues he goes as a manager, the more footballing teams he’ll encounter and his tactics (or lack of) will be increasingly exposed. He’ll be a decent lower league manager I’m sure but he’ll need to learn to adapt in order to progress, in my opinion.

No point even getting into the detail re the various decisions, overall it probably evened out on that front and more importantly we were the superior side.

They were extremely lucky not start the second half with 10 men and possibly lucky not to finish with 9. That might also have made a difference. And Stead definitely pushed Grimmer, and carried on pushing him for their goal.

Yet his team were more successful than us over 46 games

He will make a good L2 manager as a minimum, he’s still learning, the squads slightly above average at county too. Jorge Grants carried the side massively and when his goals dried up the slump in results came.

Still have a similar record to us protecting a lead and we’re a force at home this season.

He’s got them effective, just not at the point it mattered.

is there ever going to be a point where our OWN fans praise our team without all these buts and what ifs, and the otherside were robbed???

FFS we don't need to disect every decision and turn it against us, we didn't make the mistakes, the officials did so just enjoy the feelings of getting to the final.
again I don't think some on here even want us to achieve anything good, thank fuck the manager doesn't take advice from them.
PUSB and take whatever bit of good fortune falls our way, as for the rest..................................fuck 'em all.

But not in the two important ones, so it’s irrelevant really.

On point as always.

It isn’t irrelevant as the style of football produced better results over the season.
