Blimey, it looks like a majority of us are starting to agree on things.
Oh no we’re not.
I was thinking the same thing myself though

I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed
“Conservative MP and former attorney general Dominic Grieve said Boris Johnson's views on Brexit have never been clear.
"At various times he's said very different things including, as you may recall, just before the Brexit referendum, producing two speeches. One in favour of campaigning for Remain and one in favour of campaigning for Leave," said the MP who supported remaining in the EU.
"I think the remarkable thing is he's been tolerated as long as he has."
It’s easy to criticize. He didn’t have to resign now and just carry on but it is a very principled decision. He must be applauded in an age when career politicians are easy come by. I know Boris isn’t perfect and looks after Boris but on brexit he has been consistent.
But isn't that also true of Theresa May and now it seems Michael Gove?
Will they get the 48 mps needed to trigger a vote of no confidence?
Nah not yet, they'll hold out as long as possible, I think. They aren't going to risk a situation where they end up having another GE.
will never happen
I just don’t see Boris resigning for no reason.
No I disagreeBlimey, it looks like a majority of us are starting to agree on things.
I'd have agreed until Trump rocked up as President!
That being said, Johnson has enough enemies within the Conservative Party, and they recognise that while his persona might win them an election, long term his total inadequecy would ruin them.
Anyway, nice to see a consensus for the EEA. Sure *that* would get the majority vote on how to leave the EU were it to come to it. It's only the self-interested and mentalists who want an extreme version.
And also satisfies those who voted leave who don't want an extreme version.Agreed it's the option that delivers on the referendum while at the same time does not ignore the large % of those who'd wish to remain in the EU.

I concur (note! Not agree..concur lol)Nah not yet, they'll hold out as long as possible, I think. They aren't going to risk a situation where they end up having another GE.
Unfortunately I can. The Conservatives aren't exactly overflowing with popular candidates. What are the options, Gove, Rees-Mogg, Hunt? If they are going into an election and trying to play down being the nasty party they are the last thing they need as leader. Can you seriously see him becoming PM?

You only have to look at Trump. Being an idiot and incompetent doesn't disqualify you. Johnson has very carefully cultivated his image, at least to the masses who don't really pay much attention to what's going on. He could be a far easier sell. Especially if Labour are too preoccupied with attacking each other to really challenge him.
Might get elected at the 8th attempt. Narcissistic twat that he isLooks like Nigel Farage is thinking of making a comeback.....

I think you can widen that to most politicians. But isn't that also true of Theresa May and now it seems Michael Gove?

Which again throws it back to Cameron's idiocy in trying to make it that simple. It was never as simple in my head as remain or leave
