Under state aid rules help isn't allowed. But help was given to Turkey to take on the production of Trannies from the UK. Would you like to deny it?Farage blamed it on the EU. And so does my brother.

So you are now saying that nobody in the EU gives a shit about what the person with the top job in the EU says?how many give a shit was Selmayr says?

So an own goal for the EU but not pretend? It was a loan from the EIB not state aid. Still unfortunate for Southampton and yes you could justifiably say it was an own goal for the EU and more specifically the U.K. but let’s call it what it was and not pretend it was something else.
You’re trying to pretend that it was state aid, it wasn’t. It was a loan from the EIB that the U.K. is a shareholder in. It will be paid back with interest. Which the U.K. will be a recipient of even after brexit as we have long term commitments to the EIB. Little comfort to the former workers at Ford Southampton but that’s what happened. Ford Turkey wasn’t handed a load of cash from the EU as aid.So an own goal for the EU but not pretend?
So what do you mean?
So the EIB loaned money so that Tranny production could be moved from the UK to Turkey. If the BoE had loaned money so jobs could move from other EU countries to the UK it would be seen as state aid. But when it is the EU bank it is seen differently by yourself.
Focus on Ford: The £80m EU loan for Ford's Turkish Transit plantYou’re trying to pretend that it was state aid, it wasn’t. It was a loan from the EIB that the U.K. is a member of. Little comfort to the former workers at Ford Southampton but that’s what happened. Ford Turkey wasn’t handed a load of cash from the EU as aid.
But making a loan so jobs could be taken out of the UK.Yes. Loan, not state aid. Like I said.

Would it have been state aid if funds were made available to take jobs away from the EU to the UK?
A very good reason to stay in the EU

You are funny sometimes.
How about back to reality?
1, Each time I used it you moaned. Said it was full of pro Brexit crap. So I stopped quoting it yet you and others continued to when it suited. And still do.
2, If the EU has always said there would be a deal why do you always make out how bad it will be for the UK when there isn't a deal?
3, If there is the trade deal that everyone is supposed to want there won't be a problem.
4, Dream on.
Lol...listen to his brother Astute, listen to his brother. I am surprised you still have patience to respond to himUnder state aid rules help isn't allowed. But help was given to Turkey to take on the production of Trannies from the UK. Would you like to deny it?
I doubt the average man in the street does...but MEPs will listen & consider & probably be influenced towards acceptance of his wishes. So you are now saying that nobody in the EU gives a shit about what the person with the top job in the EU says?

That is because at the time the EU was trying to encompass Turkey & welcome them to the fold - but it appears to have been a failed planYou’re trying to pretend that it was state aid, it wasn’t. Yes Tony...call it what you like...they gave them the money. They may get it back or write it off...or even the Turks may yet write it off. Had they given the money to the UK...maybe the transit would still be made here? But no, the appeal of an even wider EU was irresistableYes. Loan, not state aid. Like I said.

I have searched and found nothing. Nothing but contempt for us in the UK.Don’t know the details, but read somewhere that had been debunked.
So is it anything to do with Brexit? Because you and Tony disagree it seems.Bollocks. Two different things. You said yourself Ford have been reducing in the UK for years.
We are a beneficiary. But we also have to put billions in. And even after leaving the EU we still have to put more in and wait decades to get our money back.Plus we have had far more loans coming in than most countries. We are a beneficiary.
Bollocks. Selmayr has the top job. Or are you now calling the EU liars yourself. He hasn’t got the top job. You say yourself that Juncker has the top job.. or Tusk, or Vanderhof ... he is a general secretary of the civil service, but doesn’t have legislative powers.
1, Explain yourself and do something unusual for yourself. Give proof.1. you still quote the Daily Farage.
2. UK ist the one talking of no deal.
3. correct. Just sort the Irish problem out, then we can move on.
4. Err .. there is only one party that voted to cut their nose off to spite their face.
I dislike liars and bullshitters. I also dislike people who give out false information. I will always point it out.Lol...listen to his brother Astute, listen to his brother. I am surprised you still have patience to respond to him

Yet you say we should stay in at any cost.
But meanwhile...the UK can demand thst certain trials are carried out under UK stipulations...otherwise they don't get licenced for use here. Now thst I would agree could be a double-edged sword! By that I mean EMA sympathies toward certain EU companies will become a thing of the past. However we (as patients) will still suffer from either missing out on good drugs for longer than necessary or, we suffer from sympathies shown to UK based Pharma firms.

2, Talking of no deal if the EU continues to take the piss. You seem to love the idea of us just bending over and getting shafted.
3, Yes as I have said all along a trade deal would sort out the vast majority of problems with the Irish situation.
4, Is that the Tories, Labour or anyone else?
The EU seems to be run in a way that makes countries dependent on staying in the EU. And all to benefit Germany. Selmayr is a German. Look how he got his position. Now they have several top jobs. That is because at the time the EU was trying to encompass Turkey & welcome them to the fold - but it appears to have been a failed plan
Come out with your list then. Why don’t you talk about EIB finance for UK companies? Far more than a loan for a Turkish factory. Far more jobs created than lost.
How much are we owed by the EIB?„EIB financing* in the United Kingdom came to a total of EUR 1.8 billion in 2017.

The total investment of the EIB Group (the European Investment Bank and the European Investment Fund) in the United Kingdom in 2017 was EUR 2.1 billion“
Turkey loan 80m in 2012.
Because of Brexit the investment of the EIB has dropped significantly in 2018. If you want to talk about job creation based on EIB loans, then leaving the EU is reducing job creation. 2,1 billion on projects in 2017 created more than those lost, only partly, because of the 80 million Turkey loan.
But it was the lying toad Farage who wanted to make capital of the Turkey loan. You gobble his BS up.
