I'm always amazed at the far flung corners of the country our support comes from.
Fair play to you all, can't be easy supporting such a shambles of a club.

Cheers Clint, I only moved up to Chester in Jan and I’ve been coming back to cov (home) every few weeks, so it doesn’t feel like I’ve completely left for good!

I’ve managed to get back for a couple of home and away games too - worked out I did over a 500 mile round trip to get to Brighton! Was well worth it though.

It surprises you, at MK away, in our group of 9 there was three cov ex-pats in the group, myself, one from Yorkshire and the other from Liverpool, that’s a lot of miles between us for a quick trip to MK.

Really looking forward to coming back for the weekend for legends day and a few pints!! Pusb

As a Grimsby lad, I have to say that this thread is piss funny! The sparring between Oucho and Astute is quality. The guy with his head in the books vs the guy with his ear to the ground. All I can say to Oucho is, approach any Grimsby fan on the 24th of March, preferably one who's had a couple, and tell him he's not a northerner. I'd put my money on you changing your view pretty sharpish! Haha
Anyway, looking forward to the game. Never been to Cov and will probably stay a night or two.

Always bump into a lot of Grimsby on England Away, not bad at all, especially the lads with the three fish, three lions flag....which brings me nicely onto the point that unfortunately your game fell on the same weekend as Holland Away, so myself and many others won’t be there! Couldn’t turn down a trip to Amsterdam.

Enjoy your trip to the Ricoh, beer inside the ground is rubbish so don’t rush to get there, casino is always decent for a few pints and the late kick off afterwards. If you’re staying for a nightout, Craven Street and Scholars would be my shouts. Avoid the skydome unless you want to be surrounded by voi pumps and jogger jeans!

Assuming a few of us are going to try and make the Crewe game? Especially those of us in the north west. Only half hour on the train for me and not done Gresty Road before

Is anyone considering driving back to Costa Del Cov for the match on Tuesday night? I’m based in a Chester and considering driving back at about 3-4pm. Still 50:50 due to costs so thought I’d see if anyone fancied a car share. Pusb

Its a big problem when you move away from the Coventry area that you no longer have fellow Skyblues around you. I was born and brought up in the Banbury area that has loads of Cov fans back in the pre 2000 when I lived there but as soon as you move away you lose touch with those groups, which is natural.
A lot of them were oldish then so lots have passed away, plus the Northampton fiasco most left now don't go.
Went to live in France and now back in Norfolk where every fucker either supports Norwich or Ipswich, which is great as you should support your local side.but very few desperate masochist's who support Cov
Someone should come up with a footballing app where you go on and say id like to go to this particular game but have no one to go with who supports Cov for example, each club having there own site sort of thing, so others could see who might be in the same boat who live near to you, so you could hook up and go together or in groups.
With the big clubs their fans are everywhere, but for clubs like Cov the few get more spread out as we age as people move away from their birthplaces so is a problem.
It is great to go to a game with someone who is equally mad enough to support Cov, you can help each other through the mental anguish
I live in Mansfield and go to away games anybody near get in touch

Make sure you leave early.

You can be sure as shit every radio station between Chester and Coventry will be full of fake traffic news which the good old Leon will gobble up.

You're welcome. :D

Finally recovered from my hangover after last night. Was good to see a few Sky Blues out and about in Manchester last night, anyone from here in The Courtyard to watch the game?

Where's that? I went the match last night. Don't recognise that pub name apart from the one in Cov (formerly)

It's on Chester Street just south of Oxford Road station, about a 5 minute walk away. There were a few City fans watching in the beer garden and had a chat with another one inside, was just curious to see if any were forum folk

I completely agree. Lived near Scunny (ironically for a few months in Goxhill @Astute) and worked at the hospital for a fair number of years before moving even further north (just past Hull now) and if you went to anyone in Scunthorpe and told them they weren't Northern, they'd probably try to lamp you. The ambulances might say 'east midlands' but that's where it ends, they eat pie and mushy peas with gravy (and I've had this at the football ground for a Christmas party).

I seem to recall from an old thread there's a few of us exiled around Driffield.

I have heard of grindr but thankfully being married never had to use it. Wouldn't have thought you needed grindr in Cov to tell you the truth, bit like Banbury back in the days, you knew some places, bars/discos, that you were guaranteed to get laid, just don't open your eyes in the morning because it was absolutely certain she's not going to look nothing like the beauty you thought she was after your tenth pint last night

what about my app idea, brilliant eh

You’ve got Grindr confused with Tinder hahaha. You can tell you’re married!

Anyone on here watching the game on Sky in Manchester this weekend? Heard a few Sky Blues fans watch games in Tib Street tavern in the Northern Quarter.

I’m meeting my mate and a few members of the North West CCFC Supporters Branch in Liverpool City Centre on Sunday. Not sure which pub yet... or if there is a North West CCFC Supporters Club...

Am in Lincoln if anyone counts that as North. Also have fam in Cheshire and Lancaster so find it easy to get accomodation for nearby northwest games.

Mate of mine lives in Beduff. Is that classed as "oop North"?

I've noticed there's a few of you northern based Cov fans on here, so was wondering if any of you's would be up for tagging along to away matches based up here (not many this season)?? and even away games further afield if up for it.

Let me know cheers

North America. And you want me to ‘tag along’ ? wtf m8
