I might have been wrong in saying that it was 7% at the point we left but I was going from memory and it was a long time ago.
Fact is it wasn’t at 15% when we “plunged” in and it did fall down to 7% within 2 years of membership and as your article tells you the reason they climbed again was politically motivated. So I guess the real question is are you going to stand by your statement? I’m big enough to say I got something wrong let’s see if you are.

They’ve reported what industry has said and they’ve explained why. Maybe it’s Toyota or JLR or Airbus or Mini etc etc that are pandering to the leavers. Or maybe just maybe they understand the effects of Brexit better than you. I’m going with the latter.

The EU refuse to negotiate. It is always come back with something better. That isn't negotiating. If we continue to bend over we will get badly shafted.
Now is the time to say enough is enough. You want to cherry pick our fishing rights. We want a free trade deal. That isn't us cherry picking. IIRC only 3 EU countries buy more off us than we buy off them. And one of them is Ireland. We want something that will benefit the vast majority. What is wrong with that?
I can see there being a price to pay. Something like a few billion a year into the EU.
Open borders still? Waste of time leaving if that is the case.

The EU are negotiating in the background on trade, but the main problem is that the UK wants the benefits of membership without being a member. The EU is not leaving, we are. We are leaving because we don’t like one or more of the 4 freedoms guaranteed by the EU, and now we expect the EU to drop their own rules for us. Trade is negotiable, but not the 4 freedoms.
You say open borders with the EU are the problem. Different to your normal Selmayr Juncker and fish story. You just don’t like foreigners coming in from the EU.

The first post by Dutchman was to show 'liberal' people in a bad light. Why post it otherwise? It has nothing to do with the EU or Brexit. My post has to do with someone who is mates with Farage, Banks and Wigmore...( all of whom were pictured with him in golden settings in Trump Tower ) who has openly praised Brexit and claims he could negotiate better with the EU than Theresa May. He is, like many Brexiters, dishonest scum and I posted it to show the hypocrisy of people jumping on someone who helps refugees whilst ignoring the far greater crimes of a known tax dodger.

Not true as usual. I never said you were wrong about it being a sham - apart from that there were 2 investigations, both strongly condemning the appointment, but neither saying that it was illegal and must be reversed. I have used the words, annoyed, scam and sham. The rules have to be changed to avoid this happening again ( both investigations said that and I agree with them ). Now back to the benefits of Brexit....
