We can. But we’ll have to remain in the single market and the customs union. Which apparently we aren’t doing either because apparently that’s not what the people voted for. So that eliminates EEA membership by default.
The premise is that all our contracts through the EU will end with Brexit. Then we are not in EFTA and have to apply to rejoin EFTA. If we are only using EFTA as a stepping stone to third party status, they will not want us trying to renegotiate EFTA‘s agreements with the EU. Which means we must keep freedom of movement and accept EU SM regulations. Which we didn’t vote for apparently. Although no one can claim to know that as leaving the SM was not on the ballot slip. We will have to keep paying to the EU. Which we didn’t vote for apparently. EFTA members don’t have to accept us.

Is that right? Try looking at yourself.
You go on about how our food standards will fall when we leave the EU. But they are already better than most of the EU. You talk about the crap we will be eating when we leave. No evidence comes with it. You talk about how animals will suffer but they suffer because of EU rules and regulations. Just like the bird population has been decimated because of farming rules and regulations. Africa even suffers because we keep food prices artificially high then dump cheap food around the world.

Strange, I can't recall horsemeat ever being passed off as beef here before the UK joined the Common Market? Perhaps that was because the price of meat had not yet been hugely inflated in order to subsidise French and German farmers?

In that case there's likely problems with all food supply chains. It was illegal activity that was discovered by Europol.
Crime is committed everywhere, even in the UK.
The EU is going to have way more clout that the UK when negotiating with the USA, which is why the USA has said that the UK will need to align itself with the USA.

I am not going to have a go at anyone that doesn't have a deal that means a lowering of standards. Just like I didn't have a go at the EU when it was after a trade deal with the USA.
And yes I would be extremely vocal against any deal that would lower our food standards.

No, it doesn’t rule out reform. It maybe makes it hard to reform the SM and CU, but no one wants to do that. There are plenty of other things to reform.

Haha. Now take a look at Farage‘s statement about millions.
Take a look at the people in the hall at his leave means leave rally. Virtually all of them ageing. The men had greying, grey or receeding hair. Never said they would end in March. I think it is more likely to be a fudge to enable the transition period to be extended. This kicking the disaster down the road.
It gives time to get facts on the table before the inevitable people’s vote, or election on the subject. I hope we have an opposition party prepared to oppose Brexit by that time. Corbyn is not the opposition in this case. He is what was called a „Mitläufer“ because he won’t stop Brexit.

There is no chance of a people’s referendum - why is it called that? Didn’t people vote last time. Once the treaty period ends in March there’s no chance of a return,.

Crime happens everywhere. There are horsemeat and dog meat scandals in the UK. Dog meat turns up every few years in Chinese restaurants ( I recall it years ago in Coventry ).

But you only select crimes that occur in other parts of the EU. The biggest food chain scandal in an EU country that I recall, Dutchman won’t recall it because he suffers from selective amnesia, is BSE. A purely British fxxk up that destroyed the UK beef industry and cattle sperm industry for a period of years. It also reduced Irish meat exports because consumers assumed beef would be smuggled from NI to Southern Ireland.
Whatever, either way it has nothing whatsoever to do with leaving the EU or Brexit.
We can swap crimes and scandals all day, but why? What is your point?

People are seeing through the Brexit lies and Brexit won’t happen for another couple of years yet. No way will we go over the cliff in March.
We have an official opposition who are as divided as the government and the country.
The game is far from over and you will never get a pro Brexit March as big as Saturday‘s. The euphoria is gone. Now it is bitterness because everyone can see what a fxxk up Brexit is. Instead of admitting it they go on about crimes in the EU, George Soros paying 600000 people 20£ each or trying to down play down crowd size.
