But do we have one with them now?

It is used against us leaving the EU. But there are problems within the EU food chain presently. This gets ignored.

So why does the EU want a trade deal with the USA?

Name the present problems?

Were you at one in your youth? You are obviously one of the old codgers moaning about the youth of today and trying to control the uncontrollable. Make your insults and go down the pub and complain about the teachers and social workers misleading the youth of today. Grumpy old man.

The youth that voted for the serial liar Nick Clegg? All over the promise of no student loans. That went well - it’s only due to the youth that Cameron was elected and we ended up having a referendum as they then turned to the most anti EU leader since Michael Foot as guess what he promised s deal on student loans.

What principals they all have

Never said they would end in March. I think it is more likely to be a fudge to enable the transition period to be extended. This kicking the disaster down the road.

It gives time to get facts on the table before the inevitable people’s vote, or election on the subject. I hope we have an opposition party prepared to oppose Brexit by that time. Corbyn is not the opposition in this case. He is what was called a „Mitläufer“ because he won’t stop Brexit.

Do you not realise the extension arrangement is to complete transitional arrangements after we’ve left

We leave in March

I doubt whether student loans was the issue on Saturday

I’m going to ignore you now because you’re clearly trolling.
Fantastic. Anyone can see that you are just chatting shite. Your posts this morning shows you for what you are.

Maybe the rest of us can now start to have a proper debate.

Haha. Now take a look at Farage‘s statement about millions.

Take a look at the people in the hall at his leave means leave rally. Virtually all of them ageing. The men had greying, grey or receeding hair. No, or very few, young people ( or youngsters as Farage likes to say ). These people want us to leave at all costs, thus damaging the future of younger people.

I know whose side I am on. Not the older generation of pensioners , but the future of Britain.

It looked like an OAP outing.
Damaging the future of whose 'Young people'............those with travel ambitions in Bulgaria, Romania, Poland etc. This will sort itself out fairly soon and the result should be reduced mass migration to the UK of unskilled workers, a tightening of border policies and entry qualifications, eventually less UK spend on EU infrastructure projects, less interference by EU laws and a freedom to make trade agreements to benefit the UK and not the Germans and French. All of these by fine margins I agree as ultimately not that much will change and the country will neither particularly flourish or decline.

No it won't sort itself out. Things don't do that. What makes you think that disaster capitalists like Rees Mogg are going to do away with mass immigration? His words were that there woud be a brief reduction in immigration because of the vote, but immigration will be necessary for the economy. In the absence of EU workers, he has said that Asian families living here should invite their relations from our ex empire to fill the vacancies. A large portion of whom are muslims. What EU laws are interfering with you? Bananas? Crisp flavourings? Lorry tailgates? Are you saying that EU trade deals only favour France and Germany? How come we export all over the world and are a major G7 economy ( or were )? Good to know we won't be better off for all this, and amazed to know that you know that we, as a distressed trading partner, won't be taken advantage of and ultimately be worse off.

„Italy will not leave the European Union or abandon the euro, prime minister Giuseppe Conte (pictured) said amid a standoff with Brussels over the populist government's big-spending budget.

"Read my lips: for Italy there is no chance of Italexit, to get out of Europe or the eurozone," he said in Rome after the European Commission voiced serious concern over the government's proposed budget aimed at stimulating growth.“

That’s strange, I thought they were next... ;-)

I'm not a fan of May at all, but some of the language used about members of her own party is shocking, especially after the murder of Jo Cox - MPs condemn 'vile' abuse of Theresa May

"The moment is coming when the knife gets heated, stuck in her front and twisted. She'll be dead soon."
The PM was also told to "bring her own noose" to a meeting later this week.

You really have got a vested interest in this, you must be personally worried with this constant crusade also you're repeating yourself now. Rees Mogg won't be having an awful lot to do with anything, so it doesn't matter what he says does it. Why do we need the EU to make a trade deal for us, our economy continues to dwarf many others. Do you really think when push comes to shove Spain, Greece and Portugal won't pull out all the stops to allow unrestricted movement for Brits for their own tourist industry interests, That the Austrians and Swiss will ban us from the ski slopes and the Germans will refuse to sell cars and engineering products to us. Money will ultimately talk it always does. The industrialists will lean on your middle men bureaucrats to sort it out.
95% done now........you sound panicked, why ? Please don't pretend you give a shit what is happening all the way over the North Sea to the UK !

I am worried. I think it is a disgusting right wing project which will result in chaos, people losing their jobs, a decline in U.K. and EU GDP, and it has split the country down the middle. You seem particularly unconcerned about that. We need trade deals. We have them through the EU. We have the bargaining power of the EU on our side. Do you really think we need to leave the EU to do trade deals? Any we do will be from a position of weakness. How will that be better than what we have now? Of course we will be able to go on holiday. There may be tailbacks, and it won’t be as easy as it is now though. Freedom of movement is not about holidays, it is about living and working where you want to. Rees Mogg and co are involved in financial projects or own shares in hedge funds. He has his own interests which may or may not be the same as the interests of the U.K.. I do give a shit, and I wouldn’t mind betting that I am more interested in the normal British guy‘s fate, than Rees Mogg is. I don’t have shares in a multi billion pound hedge fund to worry about which let’s me think about what’s happening to people in my home country. You talk about me having a vested interest...

Brexit isn’t it? Do remainers use this violent language? I accept that some remainers think leavers are think and are a bit patronising, but the threats and violent language seem to come more from leavers. This referendum has split the country and allowed this talk to become common place. Farage promised it with his no more Mr Nice Guy promise and others on the leave side are taking up the call to fight.

Italy will have to leave at the next financial crash. The position of all the Med countries is not sustainable once that happens

There's no way those countries are going to offer unrestricted access to their countries for British citizens if it's not reciprocated.

Much in the same way we were told the EU was about to die and France, Austria and Holland were about to follow the UK out of the EU.

Whilst it is tasteless it is nothing new, the term 'the knives are out' has been in use for years for example.

Not according to the guy running Italy. We don’t know what will happen. Where are they going to go? Look at our mess. We are leaving at a time of low unemployment, economy was going great and the world economy was and is growing - yet still we cannot leave without screwing ourselves. What if there were a world recession going on now? Or a financial crash? They would be dependent on help from others which would stop them trying to go it alone. But, we cannot be sure either way.

It seems to struggle from one crisis to another but the knock on effect of it going under would be catastrophic for the whole of Europe, the UK included

It will be for holidays and business people and for those required to fulfill our employment needs. Common sense and hard cash and trade will win in the end. The middle men in Brussels will be the main losers, no doubt they already have one eye on their burgeoning pension debt and having to ask the rest of the club for extra money.
