How is it "when it suits"?

The only people it suits to push that SISU is the same thing as CCFC is people who want to kick the club and think it is really showing SISU.
Like I’ve said, whilst people blindly believe SISU will be affected by our closure - we’ve got no chance

The only people who will suffer in the saga is us the fans.

SISU aren't the club though are they?

What stunt exactly? The club saying that they are in a rock hard situation and have no choice? That's the reality of it.
Of course they are, they have the ownership, the purse strings, they are ultimately the mouthpiece, they have made all of the mistakes for 11 years that have led us to where we are now. Boddy and the day to day club officials are working for their paymasters out front whilst the real business intentions are being orchestrated well away from any turf.
Spiritually........ the history, supporters, colours, ex and current players and managers and badge are the club but all they can do is pull on heart strings which is what SISU is now hoping for in an attempt to put the blame at others doors if they can't get their way.
If CCFC did go out of existence I would be disgusted by the part Coventry Council have played and the failings of previous custodians pre 2007 and by the devious actions of a London Rugby club but ultimately I know who will have destroyed us !

Anyone just see this as a tactic to negotiate a lower rent. Eg. We all know we want to pay nothing.
Wasps are looking at say £1,000000 so let’s play the “ you will be responsible for destroying the club card”
Drive a wedge between council and wasps, get councillors to say wasps should do a deal short term at much lower rent because they don’t want to be the councillors who oversaw the demise of the City’s club.
Wasps then are under pressure to do deal at say £100000 over 2 years SISU are laughing all the way to the bank

That's why people won't ever be united.

If everybody came out and backed CCFC (not SISU) then there would be more togetherness. People go on about SISU dividing fans with their actions (which I don't doubt in the slightest), there have been others who have intentionally tried to split the fans for their own reasons.

That still doesn't say they are the same thing though does it?

What I don't get is why people would be so eager to make out that SISU is the same thing as CCFC?

Of course I agree that the core and soul of CCFC is the fans, the culture and it's history. But there is no way I could say SISU have nothing to do with CCFC, even the chairman of the football club supports their actions in court.

Joint statement from Cllr George Duggins, Leader of Coventry City Council and Cllr Gary Ridley, Leader of the Opposition Conservative Party, Coventry City Council: “Back in 2014, Coventry City Council was very clear that the existing tenancy the football club had to play at the Ricoh Arena must be honoured as part of any sale to Wasps.

“This tenancy had four years to run and the length was negotiated by the football club as its intention was to then move to a new stadium. As a result, this 2014 pledge was fulfilled by both Coventry City Council and Wasps.

“The fact that the football club is now struggling to have a confirmed ground to play in from next season cannot be the responsibility of Coventry City Council, particularly when this is a direct consequence of the football club’s owners decision to continue with their litigation. Whilst we can respect their right to pursue legal proceedings, we cannot be held responsible for the implications of them doing so.

Council have no commitment to ensure we are secure anymore!!
That’s shocking. So my council are happy to have no professional football club in the city. Bunch of muppets

This is the thing, it's CCFC that pay the rent.

Having something to do with isn't the same as being the same thing.

They are the owners with significant control, see the car analogy.

Do not rule out the EFL agreeing to the club playing at another ground to complete its fixtures.

They can't really say no can they.

Meanwhile I do not think there will be an agreement of any sort till the last moment.
It’s against their own rules and they’ve bent them once and let’s face it they won’t struggle to replace us

Yeah but that was due to a dispute as to who could be regarded “Wimbledon” as they technically never folded - if Coventry City go bust and close the history dies with it.

EDIT: no AFC Wimbledon are not officially the FA cup winners - they stated “its what they believe”

Thanks - I wasn't entirely sure. Just remember reading something along the lines of them being recognised as the winners a few months back.

People won't unite when people want to push that SISU is the same thing as CCFC and don't want to realise it really isnt.

While people think CCFC is SISU, they are happy for it to go to shit to show SISU.

People need to realise they can get behind CCFC and it doesn't mean they are supporting SISU for starters.
I really don't give a shit where the blame lies anymore, I am just bored with all this he said, she said and it's over for me.
I will part with my money not giving a flying fuck who is getting it as long as I see a team playing with my Clubs badge and are called Coventry City.
I would like them to play at the Ricoh but I will follow them wherever in a total about turn from my attitude about Sixfields and I don't give a toss about Wasps or the council and I no longer am interested in how we got here.

They have flexible rules when it is expedient.

Why are we perpetually being shafted by all sides and constantly going round in circles? Our fanbase is divided but it's a credit to us that we still have a fanbase at all after these years of misery - every single season there is something.

The council, SISU, W*sps, the EFL, ACL and the club themselves (including previous regimes) are all culpable in some way to this mess, but it's us the fans who suffer every time and I hate that nobody seems to care. What are the EFL doing to help? The media try but they don't understand and assume we're just like Charlton, Blackpool etc but none of those have our situation and are in danger of becoming non-existent. Bad owners move on, ours appear hell-bent on taking us down with them if they're ever to go and nobody, nobody at all seems to care. :(

See What do people want the FA / EFL to do?

Yeah I did see the car analogy, it wasn't a very good one though. But the club is still connected to SISU, our chairman supports the court action.

CCFC...
If SISU close the club, then it’s not a case of transferring it to a new entity - CCFC won’t exist

FULL FOOTBALL LEAGUE STATEMENT:

Following the failure of Coventry City FC Limited’s Company Voluntary Arrangement earlier today, the Board of The Football League has considered an application by the Administrator’s preferred bidder, the Otium Entertainment Group, for a transfer of the club’s share in The Football League under the ‘exceptional circumstances’ provision of The League’s Insolvency Policy.

The Board has agreed to transfer the Club’s share on the basis that it accepts a 10 point deduction for the 2013/14 season. This decision will enable Coventry City to continue its membership of The Football League, despite the failure of its CVA, and participate in the 2013/14 Sky Bet League 1 season.

So the share relates to Coventry City but was awarded to Otium. They are therefore inextricably linked.

Legally, SISU and CCFC are not the same. In practice, all CCFC decisions are made to meet with the desires and wishes of those in charge at SISU.

What's your point? Everybody knows that.

Otium isn't SISU. The same as Newcastle United Ltd isn't Mash Holdings Ltd.

But Otium isn’t SISU - it’s an investment vehicle holding the assets - namely the name “Coventry City FC” Otium just replaces CCFC Ltd

Isn’t Otium owned by Sky Blue Spirts and Leisure? Which in turn is owned by SISU

Remember nobody has said SISU and CCFC/Otium aren’t linked - were saying they’re not the same.

If Otium/CCFC go bust... SISU don’t. It’s more than likely just part of a portfolio of companies, so the disappearance of CCFC won’t be felt

No, SISU are OEG's shareholder and controller. They are not necessarily the same thing. Shareholders in companies are not the company as such.

People will see that if the club goes to shit and SISU stroll off into the sunset. They won't be the ones to go bust.

Then if they own the club do they not make decisions of how the club is run? Right now the statements being made distance SISU from the football club when in the past this wasn't so much the case.

The statement from the football club says they have absolutely no control over the legals. That's what people need to understand when they shout at the club to drop them.

This is the pattern that keeps happening.

"SISU and CCFC are the same thing"
"Otium"
"Otium isn't SISU either"
"Yeah but they are linked"
"Of course, SISU own Otium"
"See, I told you"

Don't think so. Wasps would just come out and say we have an offer on the table for CCFC to take or leave. What they're actually saying is they won't even talk to us.
