When have I ever said any differently? If you actually ever read what I say you will see that I have a massive dislike of Maggie and Bliar. But yet I get questioned on here how I can dislike Bliar if I am a Labour voter

No you don’t.

I will blame who is to blame for each event. And not keep quiet about Bliar, Maggie or the EU as they are all to blame in ways.

That’s exactly what BSB has just done. How come when you do it you’re being balanced and when someone else does it they’re defending the EU?

For the future it is a good move. Short term not. Everything is becoming automated. Jobs are being taken over by machines. Where I work we even have FLT's without drivers. We have robots doing intricate jobs. Most people taken on now are either electrical/mechanical to keep them going. Manufacturing jobs are going at a quick rate. But production isn't going down.

If someone else had posted that you would have accused them of defending the EU.

Said elsewhere that Germany wasn't tantamount to the Eurozone but are they in better shape as a country, no question. The result of decades of a prudent common sense approach to governance. Industry talks to education to fill skills gaps. People are paid to recycle. The trains run on time and they profit even from our privatised system.

There is not the obsessive desire to hang onto former glories or to resist innovation. They wouldn't spunk £20 billion on a single high speed rail line either. We can either learn from their example or stick two fingers up and pretend we know best.

Trains don’t run on time. The Bundesbahn is under fire for that. They want to privatise the Bahn, but it needs a lot of investment. I have traveled by Flixbus recently. It takes more time, but it is comfortable and much cheaper.

I believe the first studies were done in 2013 and they agreed it was a problem but couldn't decide how to solve it. I do find it funny that you are so concerned about the estimated 60 people to have died from extra NOx emissions but have little for climate change rendering regions of the planet uninhabitable in my lifetime.

Burning petrol instead of diesel makes no odds in the grand scheme of our climate fuckery.
You say how intelligent you are yet post wrong information. Is it to try and make look wrong for some reason?

Volkswagen scandal: Europe warned four years ago that car makers were rigging emissions

Evidence found in 2011 of defeat mechanisms found in VW cars. Couldn't do anything? This shows either your lack of knowledge on the subject or that you are happy to back the EU in whatever they do. Which one is it?

Burning petrol is as bad as burning diesel? Ask Greenpeace. Ask the rest of the world. 70% of diesel engines were sold in the EU. The bigger the vehicle the better a diesel engine is for it.

60 deaths? Which city in the EU has had 60 deaths because of the scandal? Or are you trying to say 60 deaths for all the cars with the defeat mechanisms that the EU allowed Germany to continue to build until America found out? The number was put at 38,000 a YEAR, mainly in the EU because of dieselgate and China and India because of their lorries. Or would you like to show evidence of your quote of 60 deaths?

38,000 people a year die early because of diesel emissions testing failures

Then comes the piss take. The EU knew about it. They let it happen. Now they are fining countries for having polluting vehicles on their roads. The same cars they should have stopped from being built.

Dieselgate: EC begins legal action against UK and other EU nations

Me happy to let polluting go by? It isn't me making excuses for the EU and German car makers. I have stated other ways our world is getting badly polluted on here. Yet the same culprits had a go at me for stating the facts then as well. For instance the catastrophic pollution caused by making batteries for electric cars or wind generating turbines.

Nickel mining: the hidden environmental cost of electric cars

And on top of this a lot more energy goes into building lightweight vehicles. It takes many years to get any benefit if there is any at all. Yet you say this is me against electric vehicles. Not at all. It is putting the point over to people that think diesel engines have only killed 60 people.

And I await this post to be pulled apart. Some will see it as an anti EU rant as they only notice the EU bit and will ignore the rest.

As the EU says in your link:

“The commission has bared its teeth and told member states it’s time to act against the dishonest carmakers that have been manipulating tests and poisoning the air by turning off exhaust treatment systems,” said Greg Archer, the clean vehicles director of the green campaign group, Transport and Environment.“Dirty diesels must now be recalled and fixed and national regulators must stop protecting their friends and clients in the automotive industry.”

You say the EU. The EU says national states are ignoring the law. These laws that are imposed by unelected old men in Brussels. Either we need laws from Brussels it we don’t. Brexiters cannot have it both ways. Now that we are leaving we don’t need to follow these rules from Brussels. Happy?

What a surprise you are defending the EU.

How about what happened up to them baring their teeth? As in when they did nothing. They were the ones who allowed the major pollution to happen. They could have stopped it years before the USA found out. So why didn't the EU stop the German automakers cheating the rules the EU had set out?

Then they start handing out massive fines for the countries affected by the massive pollution they allowed to happen.

Details and truth Mart. Details and truth.

A lot of people don’t care about experts or their opinions in this current political climate across most of the Western world.

In fact, on this thread someone dismissed my opinion because I went to university, as if it made me this ultra-leftist. It’s astounding.

1st class masters degree and you put 38,000 deaths a year down to 60? OK you are correct. Is that what you want me to say?

As I said there will be some that try and say the truth is incorrect. Thanks for proving my point?

Germany the evil puppeteer? Is this a joke?

You said about me dismissing worldwide pollution. I mentioned different forms of pollution. You say I am blaming Germany for everything. What a joke. The German car manufacturers are majorly at fault. Are you going to try and deny this? What I did point out that whichever way we go with car production there will be a lot of pollution caused. I also poi Ted out how the EU knew but did nothing. Then they fine countries for their people buying the highly polluting vehicles they allowed to be built. You tried to make out there was nothing they could do about it. Another lie.

Is it me dismissing pollution or is it yourself?

Masters degree? You should either know better or it didn't learn you a lot.

My post is not directed at you, it’s more of a observation in electorates over the last few years.

Since you’re not the poster who dismissed my point because I went to uni, the post doesn’t apply to you. It does apply to people who dismiss political points because of someone’s age or educational background.

I certainly haven’t said anyone’s view doesn’t count, nor that anyone is ‘thick’. My posts have, for the large part, respected other people’s viewpoints, despite disagreements I have.

Apologies. It was that you replied to a post that was a reply to mine. Someone brushing off lots of evidence showing that he was wrong in what he had said because he has a masters degree and I don't.

That is what gets me on here. I have a go at all sides. That is because not one side comes out with any sort of respectability.

Look at me saying about the pollution in various ways cars are built. The reply was all down to Germany if the person with the 1st class degree is to be believed. But if he had spent the time to read properly he would have understood what I had said.

I drive older cars. One of my cars is a diesel. It had the DPF filter when they were not needed by law. A lot of pollution is caused when they are built. Cars are a lot more reliable than they used to be. You don't need a new car for reliability.

I get people think I can't afford a newer car. I just don't want or need one. I could rent a new car like the vast majority of people who have a new car do if I wanted. I could buy one if I wanted. I have 3 cars. The pollution through use is nothing to them being built.

I used to love driving an Audi. But I have kept away from them as I would want a diesel. And when did the pollution cheating start?

I now want a VW Phaeton. But it would be a diesel. This is stopping me from getting one as I can't find out the details.

Ramsgate 'not ready' for Brexit ferries
Yes the UK isn't ready for Brexit. Are you surprised?

Nobody is ready for it. Is that a surprise?

It would help if we knew what was going to happen. But didn't the EU say not much would change for the first year at least? So if they are to be believed the UK government is wasting over 100m.

No surprise to me. But then I wasn’t defending the decision to award a multi million pound contract to a company with no ferries to work from a port that can’t take those ferries even should they exist.

The most interesting part of the article where the councillors said that they haven’t even been consulted about the port being used by the government. Doesn’t sound like any due diligence has been carried out by the government on this whatsoever.

Chatting shite again Tony I see. Do you have a 1st class masters degree in chatting shite?

We went through this a day or two ago where it was agreed by those whose arse you like to kiss that I had said about no evidence to an MP being on the take and I wasn't defending the process. But of course we should listen to your bullshit more than trying to have a debate.

No I don’t have a degree in anything. Unlike when you were at the age of higher education it wasn’t free for me and my parents couldn’t afford to support me through university.

Where have I said you were defending it? It’s you that seem surprised that someone who wasn’t defending the government contact would be surprised at their failure of due diligence.

I’ve told you before. Read fully twice, give yourself five minutes to digest what I’ve posted and then reply to me if you think it still warrants a reply. Instead of read the first line and then go of on one. Your reply might actually be coherent then to what you’re replying to and we’ll avoid another horses love horse racing type scenario.

You posted the link which pointed out that national governments were ignoring their own car manufacturers. The EU wants to do something about it. Rather late in the day. The EU is not a foreign body. We have over 70 MEPs, a European Commissioner and are part of the Council at government level. If they failed to react quickly, then our government is also part of the problem.

As usual it is because the EU has trouble controlling the sovereign governments, which is the opposite to what leavers complain about.

What would happen if Rees Mogg gets his way to open the floodgates to deregulated tariff free trade?

So we will ignore that the EU ignored the rules that it made and didn't stop car manufacturers in Germany from seriously polluting. OK Mart.

How many times does she plan on running a vote until she gets the outcome she likes?

There is no lack of irony in it that's for sure.

I don't think she is waiting for the vote until she thinks she will win it. More like she is waiting until it is too late to do anything but vote for it or take no deal. Maybe then it will be down to a no deal or another referendum. Who knows what she has planned.

Someone is being untruthful to us. Either May or the EU......Or both. EU says no better deal. May says it has improved. Take your pick.

I didn’t say that. You try and bring Germany into everything bad. In reality Germany has a significant Green Party which is growing, although you constantly prefer to talk about the AfD growth. Brexit has been championed as a way of reducing red tape, which includes pesky environmental rules.

Bollocks to that. Keep the environmental rules and keep frictionless trade through the SM and CU. Money wasted on extra ships because of delays caused by customs checks, extra customs officers, civil servants etc. would be better employed creating more environmentally friendly cars.

If we want the convenience of cheap ( relatively ) cars, then we have to accept there will be polution however we do it. Unless you have got a good idea of how to get round that, in which case you are wasted on here.
