Times like this it would be better with proportional representation.
Actually atm probably not the answer. a minority govt being held to ransom by a small party has not gone well.

Tend to agree. I'd take the upper chamber being elected by PR, mind you.

Anyway, all the votes rather close atm. Scary to think such a big subject can be decided by who happens to die at any time during this.

It makes no sense in a "modern democracy" to have a wholly unelected 2nd chamber. Only one apart from Canada I think.
However I would only have a fixed % of the Lords elected in as much as it shouldn't become a rubber stamp for the Govt of the day,
I'd retain a % of crossbenchers to provide a balance. Always loathe to throw away experience because people are deemed too old.
Also completely wrong that Govt ministers can be appointed from the Lords as aren't then answerable to MPs

Haha you really do tie yourself in knots with your puerile attempts at point scoring don’t you.

You’re going to have to quantify that for me because pointing out that the leave campaign repeatedly campaigned on the premise that the EU is a protectionist organisation and that’s why we must leave and then when we vote to leave what was said in the campaign is forgotten so they can play the victim is hardly tying anything in knots. Is a accurate and factual observation.

TBH if an actual leave MP was put in charge, they would of probably done a better job in getting us a better deal to leave

They didn’t want it. Much better to let someone else deliver the reality of leave not the fantasy then claim that they could have done better after the event. Which of course they couldn’t.
If someone actually was in charge that wanted brexit, im sure they would of just got on with in during the last 2 years instead of pissing about and getting us a shit deal

Right now we would probably have a good deal and would of left however due to the direction in which TM has negotiated the deal, its given the remoaners a platform to moan and whinge about

Brexit has overtaken politics for three years now at the expense of neglecting everything else. I think you’re quite naive to suggest that they should have got on with it when it’s all politics has been about for three years.

Teresa May set out the red lines the leavers wanted within her party (well, it depends on what way the wind is blowing for Boris) it’s leavers that set the agenda and that’s why they all stepped aside and let her walk into the enigma that is a leavers Brexit. I now refer you back to my previous post.

You trust Corbyn, McDonnell, Abbott and Thornberry with running the country. That automatically disqualifies you from calling anyone an idiot.

Fair enough only one of the best manifestos in decades but yes let's keep voting for cuts nobody wants because Jerry's a trot

Id put my mortgage on you being under 40 and don't remember the 70's with labour in power and Corbyns support for the Ira in the 80's you have a lot to learn

Britain in the 70s was the result of decades of failure to innovate and move on from awkward pretensions to world power. Do you remember what it was like before there was a health service? Free education for all? No, but since being alive before then is a qualifier to having any say I guess you can't criticise.

3 Corbyn policies you disagree with and why

Says the fucking moron who claimed to support the UDA because they were on the ‘right side’ of terrorist atrocities in Northern Ireland. How decent of you.

'Yeah well YOU support people with BRAINS so you can't call anyone a MORON'

You said something like 'they were on the right side' and 'what's wrong with being a British loyalist'. Do you want 'traitor' Corbyn shot?
