When we joined the EU it was the positive thinkers suggesting so. Less chance of war, greater competition through open markets resulting in bigger improvements, cooperation in science leading to advancements and in policing reducing crime. The 'moaning neg-heads' were those telling us to stay out because it'd be terrible for us.

When we joined the EEC - we signed up for something very different to what we are leaving.

You even frame it negatively. Maybe the positive thinkers framed it more like "we can return to become fully sovereign again, we can improve (whatever)"

The reason many remainers are pissed off is because they are scared of changes that will become necessary. Part of the natural process of change. I don't criticise them for that, but cannot just accept the doom & gloom.

Even if Brexit doesn't happen still - I will be happy with that to a degree. Just very wary of future tactics to keep or bring the UK acceptance of further political & social integration.

We have illegal immigrants already. The vast majority of normal law abiding citizens will simply follow the letter of law. Those that don't risk arrest & due process of the justice system.

That seems fair to me.

And actually, the NI border is not the main issue in all of this. The main issue is that everyone had the chance to vote & produce the result they preferred. Some did & some didn't. The choice was quite clear - & the result should be honoured.

If certain conditions are reached. A unification referendum can’t be called on a whim or because you want to leave the EU and break up the union to do it. A larger percentage of the Northern Ireland population considers themselves British than the percentage of the UK that voted leave. And people like you couldn’t give a fuck about them. Our elected governments have ratified those changes after winning elections with majorities, all having had a manifesto for growing ties to the EU. Parties led by people like Foot who wanted the opposite got trounced.

The leavers were all promising different visions from socialist utopia from the Lexiters to far right Singapore tax havens and everything in between. We will have a trade deal with Switzerland. Switzerland are not in the EU but have a trade deal with the EU. What kind of border is there around Switzerland? What will happen to the goods from the UK to Switzerland?

North Korea? I see you are struggling a bit now.

Switzerland has a hard border for goods but is in Schengen. What point are you trying to make?

To use your example above do you think that is how people invented the wheel? You actually have to think about problems and solve them to progress you know. Positive thinking isn’t involved.
