If Brexit doesn't happen there will be riots on the streets of this country the likes of which haven't been seen for centuries and it won't have anything to do with Boris Johnson particularly, it will be a small matter of the democratic rights of the majority being denied.

There really, really won’t.

And if there was, I know which of these sides I’d back in a ruck:

You may well be right.

So to fix this nonsense, remainers need to accept that leave was the choice of the people and respect it. The leavers need to realise that their British Empire Waterloo moment is a load of pretentious bollocks, and that an exit may mean a rather orderly affair than some nonsense cliff-edge jump of no-deal.

The

So both sides broke electoral rules - are you saying one rule breach was worse?

I’m saying that once the rules are broken the notion of democracy is fragile.

To follow through with the referendum might be the easiest, less politically explosive choice but anyone claiming to do so is the best way to honour democracy is only kidding themselves.

Which surely means we need a general election where all parties have a manifesto and then the public choose. If there is a majority the will is delivered

It’s funny how you’re now for another kind of vote when you think it might go in your favour.

1) There will be a GE once/if no deal ruled out.

2) A GE will likely not return a majority for anything.

3) it surely doesn’t mean that anyway. It means the referendum has no validity.

You may well be right, but I don't understand the stereotypical nonsense that is that every leaver is somehow harping back to the days of the Empire.

Labour don’t want the Singapore style, fuck our responsibilities, cosy up with US, damage the economy on behalf of traders Brexit, no.

May and Boris have had a chance to reach out over Brexit and make a deal that brought over enough Labour support to nullify the ERG, they haven’t. Instead they wanted to be the Brexit party, because they were scared of The Brexit Party. That’s party politics.

The pure numbers mean that the likes of Nandy, Kinnock and others in heavy Leave voting seats would always have been looking for a deal. They even set up a group called Labour For A Deal and kept asking to be involved. They were ignored until the end then the compromise the negotiated was never put to Parliament.

That’s before you get to your Skinners, Hoeys and Fields who were Brexiters from the start.

Hell, Corbyn himself has been a Eurosceptic The Deal was there to make, but the Tories saw working class voters that would never go near them now on “their side” and thought they could break Labour strongholds by going full Brexit.

Even now, rather than get a deal through Johnson and co push for no deal, knowing no sane MP in a working class area will put it through and batter their constituents. Purely so he can play the line in an election.

Top to bottom, start to end, this is a Tory fuck up.

Agree that the Tories should’ve tried to have build consensus across the house.

There’s various things I don’t agree with though, talking about us trying to follow a Singapore model for one (no evidence). Also, we haven’t even got onto trade talks with the EU yet and there is no doubt that MPs will end up having a say on what’s agreed, so labour had a chance to influence this in future.

The rest of the WA is known to tick many of Labours boxes.

Ps I might be being naive but I also think Johnson does want a deal

Which is what you want it makes it void. Several parties have had immediate withdrawal from the Eu as an election pledge

I think a straight in out referendum will have the same result but no party is offering if

A general election could produce any outcome

Wrong they had a manifesto of policies

Ask yourself why Farage won’t narrow down specifics-it’s easier to draw everyone in. Still trying to wipe Trump’s spooge off his face

You said favourite policies - I challenge anyone without google to name any but one

Curious how you try to digress to the Lib Dems when a) I don’t vote for them or agree with the revoke policy and b) it doesn’t take away that the Brexit Party has just one policy and is a blatant personality cult.

Maybe I will. Watching Honest Nige’s circle jerk first. Highlight of the night so far

‘Boris isn’t a true Brexiteer’
I'm sure it was. It followed Corbyn and Swinson's Friday Night Wet Rag Special on Channel 5. .
