May I say without wishing to sound rude. Where was Kings' professionalism when HE phoned AT, and said he was going to sign again for the City?:eek::eek:
Yea and without knowing all the facts we can not pass fair judgement on that surely, King said they offered him a different contract to the one verbally agreed. Both sides are just as bad as each other so who to believe.

Thornton could have the skill of Lionel Messi and no club in the top few leagues would go near him because of his attitude.

King is a poor excuse of a human being but most of the time his career and personal life were well separated where as Thornton would carry his attitude in personal life to his attitude in his career.

I agree with you about Thornton, but King(If telling the truth) shows what a bunch of wankahs SISU really are!
Now, although I don't think Andy Thorn could manage a "Piss up in a Brewery" I believe him to be an honourable and decent man.
Therefore I'm inclined to think King is ..................Lying through his arsehole!

SISU deal with the contracts, not AT. AT says who he wants. SISU seem to do their best not to get who he wants. And you believe SISU?

Funny isn't it!....King said he WANTED Coventry?....I'm confused again?!?!

If SISU don't hand over a contract to be signed then it can't be signed whatever they say.

So he should cancel his holiday because SISU stalled on giving him a contract to sign?

Disagree totally, If King rang AT, and said I'm re-signing, and will sign when I come back off holiday I would take his word as a gentleman(Pfffftt) How can that Make (I hate saying this) SISU stalling on the contract???...and YES..I believe AT felt secure in the knowledge King would keep his word.... The first thing King did on landing at Brum airport was go to dinner in Solihull with the then manager McLeish and sign there and then......The rest is history!

We don't know the facts, King agreed to verbally to sign a 3 year deal and the only deal that was on the table to him was a 2 year deal according to him and then Birmingham offered the 3 year contract so he signed it.

We don't know the truth and I don't trust either side to tell it. Ken Duluei was the most incompetent person I have ever seen, I wouldn't trust him to make a cup of tea never mind sort out a multi thousand pounds contract.

The Coventry City manager Andy Thorn says he feels "betrayed, staggered and dismayed" after the striker Marlon King signed for their rivals Birmingham City.
Coventry handed King a route back into football last year after his release from prison, and believed they had agreed terms on a new three-year contract last week.
The club announced that the deal had been confirmed, with City's chairman Ken Dulieu telling the club's website: "We had always hoped we could convince Marlon to stay and have worked tirelessly with Andy Thorn to make this happen. We are delighted that he has verbally accepted."
However, the 31-year-old King subsequently changed his mind, claiming that the club delayed sending him a written offer, and has now signed a three-year deal at Birmingham instead.

I don't know about trusting "Deluded" but I trust Thorns word implicitly.:claping hands::claping hands::claping hands:

The truth is king was only ever a coventry player because of boothroyd as he saw him as a friend and mentor. All the clueless thorn did by blubbering to the press was to play into king and his agents hands. It public alerted to interested parties that a deal was to be done and the anti had to be upped. Even the most die hard of thorn fans has to accept his incredible limitations intellectually. Local radio interviews have become an embarrassment. Foster had to answer the questions before asking them.

Thorn wouldn't directly be involved in contract negotiations, he would just have been fed the same crap by Duleiu as the fans were as to whose fault it was.

So:claping hands:

Deluded is an impressionist then??? because I'm fooking sure as anyone can be it was King on the phone to Thorn. As much as I detest SISU I hate the liar(Proven in court) Woman beater(Proven in court) and the thirteen other times, he's been found guilty in court, KING.....You telling me you'll take his word against Thorn? If so, it's(Pardon the pun) you who is deluded.

Odd as it was thorn who gleefully announced to the press "marlon told me he has some bad news, he will be staying for another year". Are you saying king said that with no knowledge of the contract details or are you saying thorn never had the conversation in the first place?

For King to say anything to Thorn regarding staying at Coventry, be it a year or two, or three makes no difference.
If it was ONE year....he agreed to sign, if it was TWO years...he agreed to sign, if it was THREE years... he agreed to sign.
See where I'm coming from?
It's a good job this wasn't in Scotland, a verbal contract is binding. You want proof.......

Scots Law & Verbal Agreements

Written by Holly Cameron
Under Scots law, legal agreements do not, in most cases, have to be in writing. The law considers verbal agreements to be binding if the parties have a common purpose and they clearly intend to create a legal relationship. If these elements exist, the Scottish courts will enforce a verbal agreement. In certain limited circumstances, however, the law requires that agreements be in writing. These include wills and certain contracts to transfer property. Only adults over the age of 16 may enter into legal agreements in Scotland

Where I come from my word would be my bond. Don't give me Footballers careers are short so he can make as much money as he can.
He bragged to one of the girls he beat up....I'm a "multi millionaire"

Every post I've put up, you've been confrontational with. anything in black and white that I've presented, you've tried to put down.
Instead of leaving the donkey work to others do some to back up YOUR claims.
Anyone can say what you've said without any evidence, don't just be confrontational back it up or stfu.:slap:

So you think my car has 3 wheels? I have never seen a Robin that does 0-60 in 5.5 secs :D

SISU have rarely communicated with us, and when they have it has been bullsh!t. But you believe them this time. Do you remember when King first had contract talks. It took weeks before they gave him a contract to sign. But you still believe SISU

No! I believe Thorn. Read what I've written!!!
I enjoy a good debate, a few last night with stupot07. When I was wrong, I admitted it. likwise when I'm right I will back up my statements where ever possible.
What I don't like is someone with an opinion, who either cannot or will not even try to substantiate it...People such as yourself and kduffy.
Your friend in the "Unsubstantiated stakes" left an opinion which was untrue, and when I pointed this out, he argued the toss he was right!
Take a look at this.....
Yet Karl Oyston, discussing it while in transit on holiday, was emphatically not apologetic, as he explained the circumstances, which are not quite as straightforward as they appear. To clarify, the £11m was paid not to Owen Oyston personally, but out of Blackpool to a company Oyston Sr owns: Zabaxe. Karl Oyston says his father has not taken the money personally and will not be spending it on indulgences – "He does not lead an extravagant lifestyle."
The reason the money was paid out of the club, rather than sitting in its account as a huge cash surplus, was for tax planning, Karl Oyston said. "We have done all this on professional advice. We were advised that if we left the money in the football club it could attract a very large tax bill, which would fall on the football club.
There you go...I back up my debate..kduffy didn't.

Difference is huge - about as different as finishing 23rd or 24th in the championship - the outcome is the same.

SBKid you shouldn't be on this forum because you can't take anybody having a differing opinion to yourself!
I've just read this whole thread and witnessed you turning on Duffy for no apparent reason. You did the same with me calling me a c**t etc, you've got issues pal which maybe you should air somewhere else.

All the best

See what I mean?
Confrontational, and will not admit to being wrong...What an arsehole!!!

I remember last week. You were moaning about someone being confrontational. Last night you were being confrontational with a few on here. You are still calling people names. Nothing to do with you is it?

You said it was all King's fault. Nothing to do with SISU and you seem to know it as a fact, although it took weeks for them to hand him the cobtract he was promised 1st time. It took so long we were expecting him to go elsewhere. The so called contract you say he didn't sign....why was it left until he was going away? Any normal club would have had it sorted ASAP. Not ready when a player is not in a position to sign. You said he should have cancelled his holiday to sign it. If you go by how long it took them to print his previous one he could have had a few holidays whilst waiting. They were not offering him a contract as long as he wanted. Brum were. They offered him more money as well as playing in Europe and for a club with ambition, not a club getting rid of all of their players. Still all the fault of King. Nothing to do with SISU?

If anyone can see anything against a view of yours you call them an arsehole. Nobody says King was right. Most can see why he did it though. And for looking past the end of our noses you think you can insult people. You are either a young boy acting like a keyboard warrior or an old bloke that models themself on Victor Meldew with a chip on his shoulder that likes to blame the world for his problems. It is so easy to insult people from behind a keyboard. This don't make you a man.

If you act like an idiot then expect some abuse back. Maybe that is what you want. What a sad person you are if this is true.
