Their employers have by not taking action to protect them
They could have reacted much better and much more quickly . Put up clear protective screens between the drivers and passengers. Minimal contact. It's all pretty much pay with no change given anyway isn't it.

It's tragic that so many drivers have lost their lives.

I've said something similar about my wife and her job. She works at a shop.

I said to her, instead of letting customers just wander around the store, they should have set up temporary barriers and gone back to the old corner shop way of shopping, where customers come in, say what they want at a distance and the assistant goes and gets the stuff for them. I have been saying it for weeks now.

I think we could have reduced contact with people in many, many professions.

Friends of mine who work in shops are still getting climbed over as they are filling up by nob heads who won't wait a minute for people to finish what they are doing. You are right, the process needs to change because some people won't. Everybody deserves protection

There are screens in the cabs but they aren't air tight.

The best action would be to look the front doors and make people get on via the middle doors (london buses have multiple enterences/exits) and to block off the seats near the driver. This is what their unions want.

the good old days.

About 25 years ago I went to the local newsagents. They had a good customer service ethos. By then of course , shops were self-selection... But John decided he’d have his 85 year old mother in (used to own the shop). I go to the display and reach for a mars bar. She pulls a rolled up newspaper out and biffs me with it..

“Sorry Sir.”
“Mother, you can’t do that.”
“Oh,yes I can.” John ushered her away with a sheepish look on his face.

Wasn't the mayor of London pushing the narrative for weeks that you can't contract it on public transport.

I don't know. Did he? Very stupid and naïve if he did.

He said it after consulting public health England.
Not really a fan of his and don't think he's been pro active enough in finding solutions to the transport issues down there but that comment came after consulting with the experts.

Hopefully some better news figures wise today, yesterday was a fucking disaster for every country
No it wasn’t, you are going to see more positive cases due to more testing being done and the death rate doesn’t reflect the current impact of lockdowns

Johnson improving and a lockdown summit on the way which will probably see lockdown extended in this morning's news
Good news on Johnson but he needs to concentrate on recovering now.
Lockdown extension inevitable really.

Exactly it is a shame people don't read articles passed the headline

That was before the outbreak started. He was right. When there were 39 cases total there was no risk of catching it.

Tell me, what is it about the Muslim Sadiq Khan that upsets you so much?

That's quite a leap questioning his poor decision making to bring up his religion, sound like you have a chip on your shoulder there fletch.
