Astute must have ruffled a few feathers in the past, theres quite clearly 'sides' in this thread as much as people say they don't want there to be, but he seems to get it from all angles. Must have missed something.

Very easy. Have a go at both sides to a debate and both sides disagree with you. On a lot of subjects you are supposed to be one side or the other. But frequently both sides are shite.

Corbyn and Boris for one. But try saying Labour had no chance with Corbyn because of too many skeletons in the closet. That becomes to mean you are destroying his character. But the truth is you can see that the Tories would walk it even if they put an idiot against him.....

So Boris comes along. There is your idiot. And we all know what happened next.

I was a prick for saying Starmer would have a better chance. Now hardly any complaints now it has happened.

All in a day of SBT.

Sounds like a plan. Everyone needs to give someone else on here 5 of their contacts, then when we all have a list we neck a few cans and dial away. Good luck whoever gets to give The Lurker their contacts .
The lurker can't take part was he's not allowed to walk down to the local payphone

Updated the new positives, misheard the number, 3951 but testing being increased.

Today the press conference was unusually short so they didn’t go into detail but it does seem to be moving in the right direction still.
Seen that they are fully extending lockdown possibly till May 3rd?

It’s because you look like Ant or Dec. Can’t remember which one.

why don’t the supermarkets just block off the ‘non essential’ aisles? And who’s making these decisions on what’s essential and what isn’t?
Not been into a supermarket since the lockdown but was in boots yesterday getting some hay fever treatment and they had. Food, medicines and stuff like shampoo, deodorants, family planning only. All the isles with electrical goods, designer perfumes and gifts all cordoned off.

I like Hancock, comes across well, but weren't he talking about PPE weeks ago?

I know at work we have a turn around of about 2 days from a delivery to using a product, which would explain the lag with the sudden urge, but surely they could have got supply lines in place for the additional by now.

More bluster from Hancock.

Constant talk of ramping up testing and increased PPE yet nothing to show for it.

Talking about how much capacity we've got to make more PPE. Great, we might finally have enough just in time for when this virus hit six weeks ago.
Yeah but would you rather live in Italy.

That's their choice for staffing reasons

Unfortunately we make fuck all in this country now and Trump won’t let 3M distribute their medical grade face masks outside the US. So much for being at the front of the queue.

Neither can I. Is supposed to be the pissed driver one. We do have similar colour hair. But I suppose a complement as he is younger than me.

Why can't we make these masks ourselves? It's surely just layers of different material stitched together.

Depends which type you need. They are rated for their usage. We use them at work all the time. It is strange that we can get a supply but the government has a problem. OK we don't use as many as the NHS needs. But we have a constant supply.

Been.in the vicinity of several people who've had to isolate or had the virus, has hopped from his Westminster abode to his second home (not his family home) and then to his vulnerable parents.

It is his family home

I use FFP3 masks myself on a daily basis. They're a bit of material with a valve and a couple of straps, as long as you get the materials you could easily churn out a decent amount.

Don't know what the NHS would need though.

Quick Google has a N95 masks as an equivalent FFP2 with a surgical masks rated below that (I'm guessing that's because they don't seal around the face).

There will clearly be an Abdul, Leroy, Mohammed and a Mr. Wong. The 5th contact will be a bloke called Knuckles.

Yeah these ones apparently. I thought she meant the tablets at first when she said keep out of direct sunlight and joked “haha me or the tablets” and she looked dead serious and went “you, your skin will burn”.

Quite an intense pharmacist TBF.

I was told that as well after an infected insect bite. Middle of bloody summer too!
