This is the point. You can say all that, then someone in Labour might ask if you’re ok with terminally ill cancer patients being told they’re ‘fit to work’ and therefore having their benefits cut; and then they might ask you if you’re ok with people dying at a weight of about 6 stone because their universal credit was sanctioned as they were deemed not ill enough to not work.
Then you might get asked if you’re ok with the U.K. being the only western country to have shown a decline in life expectancy in the last few years, during which time your party has been in sole power. And it might be pointed out that whereas this Labour idiot said something nasty, your party has actually done things to kill its own people.
You’re looking for a pissing contest, and when the object of the competition is who can place less value on human life, I think you can tell what kind of society we are turning into.
Now are you still gonna give it the moral indignance all one way, or are you gonna concede that it’s not just the Labour people that have something of a chequered track record?
