Absolute waste of space. Don’t give a shit about political ideology any more, I’d take Thatcher back at this rate. Anyone competent over this lot.
Hate much of what Thatcher was about, hate what she did to this country, hate the division, the marginalisation, the denying of voices.

But my God, she'd have managed this astutely, we'd have had no worries about her planning and her being prepared to take leadership and make decisions, for good or for bad, and her public statements would have been clear, concise, and the message would have been understood by everybody.

Alan Sugar - moron

What an idiot.

Is Dom actually Alan Sugar?

"
‘Who’s dead? I’m not. I’m still alive. My wife, thank God, is still alive. So’s everybody else I know. No one else has caught anything.’

The businessman continued: ‘So, I suppose it is a bit of a clue there that says that maybe we have reached a peak. And maybe it’s time for us to follow the example of America, or indeed France that have opened up or indeed Spain.

Good grief.

So much for world beating.

So much time and money wasted, and lives lost, because of sheer incompetence and arrogance.

Still, at least Cummings' mates have received a load of cash for their attempts at building this app. I'm sure that has absolutely nothing to do with why we tried to do it ourselves, no siree.

this track and trace is an absolute fucking scandal.
Cronyism, missed deadlines, more missed deadlines, scrapped.
And scrapped for one that was available all along.

All joking aside I'll be downloading the google/apple one. Wasn't planning on touching the Governments one (not calling it the NHS one) with a bargepole.
Yeah, it's more reassuring.

Slightly worrying when I'm more reasured by global corporations than government, but there you go.

Nobody will, of course, but this is a serious issue and someone should be resigning/sacked over this.

This has just put us another month behind the rest of the world in what is an important aspect of living with this virus and we were already 2-3 months behind most of the western world anyway. This level of incompetence demonstrates perfectly why we have the worst death rate and one of the highest death tolls in the world.

There's been a rugby club training in the memorial park for weeks with no social distancing. Bet that doesn't get a mention in the Telegraph. Those military boot camp classes, or similar, have been running for weeks as well.

So after months of pissing around and god knows how many millions pocketed by Cummings mates we're going with the solution everyone was saying we should use from day one.

Know I'm repeating myself but it amazes me how easy dismissed this level of incompetence is. If I made that sort of cock up at work I'd be lucky to keep my job yet there's things coming out about the government on virtually a daily basis and nothing happens.

Be interesting to see the financial cost directly caused to the country through inaction and delay around lockdown and a working contact tracing system. Of course the loss of life will always be the most important thing, but they have fucked things up on an incredible scale on almost every level.

1218 infections 135 deaths

doggedly staying in 4 figures but still dropping in spite of break of lockdown.

It's a bit of a random thing to go to the press about and then to publish it.
