Yet despite all of this the majority of fans still support him.
There must be a pretty damn good reason for this!
Rubbish. The majority are apathetic and would just shrug their shoulders if he was sacked tomorrow.

Did you know that Ice Cream sales in the UK decline as the sale of umbrellas increase? Why is that do you think? One may make an assumption it is to do with the seasonal impact on both products. In other words the two facts are not related.
You put together a list of facts as to why the club is struggling - namely financial adversity. These neither make Thorn a good manager or a bad one. I think he's a bad manager and the surrounding circumstance prop him up.
Do you honestly think a new investor would really keep him as manager. Name me a new owner of any football club with sizeable investment that keeps a manager (unless its Wenger or Ferguson). Get real.
I can handle it, laddie...what were the **** representing?
Yes, you are right, though, going to the games is very much tripe and doesn't count...
As for your 'even if I don't go to the games, my opinion is just as important'....if you have that opinion, then I can understand you accepting the 'tripe' served by Teflon...as you don't pay to endure it.....:thinking about:
We were odds on to go down before we even kicked a ball this season.
That to me shows that outsiders could see quite clearly that our squad wasn't good enough for our league.
But lets get real, it's all Thorns fault, he wanted to sell our top scorer in January didn't he, it was his master plan all along to cut the playing squad back that much that it would hide the fact he is a poor manager who is just after a pay packet.
After all he just worships the Sisu dollar doesn't he.
If you place so much stock on what the bookies say...they have us as fourth favourites for this league.
So by your misguided view if Teflon guides us to lower than 4th he has failed...is that what you are saying????
Or is the point where you realise the considerable flaws in your argument.....
What was our run of results over the last 15 games before he took over over for the last ten?
Jeez...that comment proves that you haven't been to a game under Teflon's tenure if you think that his failure to motivate and organise has '...not been proved...'.
Try this to help you, sonny....

If your next post is 'what does that prove'....I deplore you not to post it as it really will embarrass you and show a total lack of understanding of one of the key fundamentals of the game...WINNING FOOTBALL MATCHES....

4th favourites this season to be promoted?:thinking about::thinking about:
Why choose just those games? Let's look at the first 10 games of the season...15 points, one more than the great man himself, and where every game counted, not when half of our opponents had nothing to play for or were trying to avoid injuries,.....
Ah right... My opinion being different from yours proves I don't go to the games.
Well done.
Because it was those games that had us plummenting down the table heading for relegation.
Because when he joined us Colchester fans said he will have a good first half of a season with you. Then the teams who have played you once will work out the long ball tactic and block it. Then you will have a crap second half of the season. He will have no other plan.
The seemed to be right.

As opposed to AT who gave us a shite season throughout.
As for AB, I think Northampton are a knocking bet for promotion next year.
It's so obvious that changing the manager helps you improve.
I mean Ccfc are a great example of this.
Just checked, he took them up and then he left them when they were bottom of the table in January to manager Preston. Peterborough were relegated and then he took them back up again from league 1.Are you sure?:thinking about:
Based on that premise, he should do well this season....the point here is that to use that as an excuse is flawed.
Are you having some cake and eating it, gaz?
:jerkit::jerkit:
All manager debates are meaningless unless you can suggest someone better who we can attract, afford and willing to work with the current board an owners.
ahhh thats not nice, what a shame
I really hope he succeeds, but what have you REALLY seen as evidence that this is likely to happen????:thinking about:
To be fair I meant the facepalm symbol - sorry about that.
But by your logic, we should finish in the top 3 or 4 as that is what the bookies say?
Isn't that what you posted, based on the season just gone...'we did shite, but that was expected as the bookies said so, so that proves that we can't have a go at Teflon'?
Then your strange 'prayer' post, hopefully not sinister, just tried to deflect from your pointless argument.....
Face it, sonny, Teflon has to carry some of the blame...to do otherwise is just avoiding the harsh reality of his significant failures....
Nope.
And If I wanted to swear then I would have.
Hope this helps
Well how can I have seen any evidence, as you have already "proved" that I havn't gone to any games .... Remember.
Or was you just being being silly then ?
What I posted was that the bookies had us down for relegation before the season had started.
Clearly this was based on the squad we had.
For this season coming we are one of the favourites to go up.
Now as long as the squad is good enough to compete for promotion in league one, then I fully expect us to make the play offs.
If we don't then that would be a fail.
Big question is if the squad will be good enough to compete for promotion though.
Not sure how this view of mine is flawed as you say but hey keep talking about teachers if that in someways helps you.....
I read it that you, gaz, used the bookies as an argument to defend Thorn's 'efforts' last season.
I believe that LBB, based on YOUR example, has stated that as we are 4th favourites Thorny should get this team to fourth place or higher.
It was your example being used, gaz. It seems that you wanted to use it to support Thorn's poor showing last season, possibly to hide behind/as an excuse, but when it is used to show how he should be performing in this season coming, you don't want to use it.
According to your barometer - the bookies - Thorn should have us in 4th place......:thinking about:
As an aside, I agree with you and think Thorny has been between a rock and a hard place, but I must admit that I did wondier about his tactics and motivational ability after watching every home game and some away games last season. Hopefully, now that he has his badges, we'll see a Plan B on the pitch, and a better trained squad of players?
