Portsmouth thread is going because they very much mirror what is and will be happening at Cov - admin/liquidation is becoming ever more likely for us and we can learn a lot from how their fans via the Pompey Trust are trying to rescue their club. They have had a string of foreign benefactors and look how its ended for them - do we really want one or would we be better being in control ourselves - see www.brsit.co.uk - can we make it happen here maybe?

So what you are saying in effect is, "Look how Pompey have f**ked up by cheating and spending. Let's watch what they do and see if we can do the same!" Sounds like that's what you're saying anyway. Well for a start, WE didn't lie and cheat to survive! Let's drop Portsmouth and get on with doing something for our OWN club!!

Which is also informative and reflects many aspects related to our situation whilst also exposing the inefectual stance from the league along with the disparity of sanctions employed for transgressions .

It started off about bleedin' Portsmouth. Who gives a f**k about them? Not me. I would rather see a thread headed "City - What on earth!" and carry on with what WE are doing in the future, not some scumbag cheating, lying shits of a team!

What is it that we can learn? They haven't rescued it. QPR have had a string of wealthy benefactors - didn't do them any harm. I'd rather have a good foreign benefactor than a group of fans thinking with the heart.

I know... you think I'm being a prick. But I still haven't worked out what you're trying to encourage everyone to 'save'. I can't fight for a cause that isn't realistic.

I can see HH taking "Red funnel" to Southampton in the future, and not Wheightlink to Portsmouth.:D;)

HMRC have rejected Rangers offer of CVA. Must be bad news for Portsmouth who are offering 2p in the pound which I believe is less than Rangers were offering.

Why? For a club that's never managed a top six place in 40 years why anyone would want a "fresh start" in the 5th tier of English football defeats me.

isnt the answer your question ?

with these guys in charge, its not impossible that we will be in the Blue Sq prem within 3 years anyway, but will still be owned by SISU.

If it was announced that SISU had gone, and we dropped to the Blue Sq Prem with new owners tomorrow, I would fly over and get a season ticket straight away

Portpin set to take over with creditors to be shafted once again.

As expected, Balram Chainrai's CVA was proposed to creditors yesterday, offering just two pence to the pound of what they were owed.

The CVA is to give every creditor owed less than £2,500 their money back in full, whilst charities will also be paid in full as will part-time staff. With unsecured creditors owed around £40.2 million, the unsecured debt would effectively be reduced to £804,000.

The CVA proposal also states that creditors will receive £500,000 cash up front but will only be passed if agreements with certain players agree to compromise their future contractual entitlements.

That last sentence is a big issue, especially as there is no sign that Tal Ben-Haim is willing to walk away from Portsmouth without taking a huge payment.

Aaron Mokoena: Is set to move to South African side Bidvest Wits, removing £15,000 p/w from the wage bill.

That should free up some wages for Appleton

I wonder if the 2p in the pound offer also applies to the money owed to Chanrai himself.

Well, they accepted 2p in the pound !!!

Balram Chainrai's proposal accepted by Portsmouth creditors



Portsmouth's creditors have voted in favour of Balram Chainrai's Company Voluntary Arrangement proposal at Monday's meeting at Fratton Park.

He now has 28 days to make good on the proposal, and start the process of bringing Pompey out of administration.

But the decision does not mean the end of the line for the Pompey Supporters' Trust, who had submitted a rival offer. If Chainrai takes Portsmouth over, the PST can do a deal with him directly to buy the club. Alternatively, if the PST put a better bid together within the 28 days, then administrator Trevor Birch can choose them to take the club forward, irrespective of the creditors' decision. However both bids are still subject to the players cooperating and reducing the wage bill and money owed - if they don't then both bids will be withdrawn and the club probably liquidated.

Couldn't happen here? Better believe it could - let what's happening at Pompey and Rangers be a warning and the reason the Sky Blue Trust is positioning itself to be ready if SISU do pull the plug. Want to know more come to the Godiva festival over the weekend as the Trust will have a stand there and will be happy to have a chat and explain what we are all about and why.

Rangers' situation is seeing them booted down the ladder and players refusing to transfer contracts over to the newco. The difference there is that the old Rangers has already been liquidated and the newco is already in place under the Green consortium; Pompey also have firm bids on the table whereas we have zero. That is what makes action from the SBT especially more important in relation to these 2 other clubs.

If a club the size of Rangers can go out of business and be relegated several divisions etc then why do people think that it won't happen here? Oh yeah Hoff will save us, no worries.

Not disagreeing with you BSB - I just wish more people would wake up and realise that this club is still way deep in the brown stuff and we could go the way of Rangers with one wave of Joy(less)'s pen.
