This is a weird one. Seattle are getting an NHL team and this week they have announced the name, they will be Seattle Kraken.

Predictably it wasn't long before their fans were being referred to as Krak Heads and the arena as the Krak Den. However this seems to have caused outrage in some quarters as apparently that's racist. What am I missing?

In pirate quarters?

This fella has twatted somebody over the head with a baton, arguably much worse than kneeling on the side of a head.

Again, man causes a high speed police chase and grapples with this guys colleague and potentially could have driven off and over the police. He said he thought he would have been run over if he didn't get the guy out of a car and aimed to hit him on the shoulder but caught him on the head.

Was it race motivated? No, the guy who got hit was clearly a c**t and shouldn't have tried to get away and fight with police officers. For all we know he prevented another PC Andrew Harper situation.

I'd quite like that. I'd be reclaiming it already.

Just don't start a female team and call them the Seattle Heroines! Although they could then start a mixed team called the Seattle Speedballs.

Looks like Wiley has been having some sort of episode on Twitter against Jewish people.

His management should have got his Twitter blocked.

I dare say because the lad was white, and a football supporter, it won't get much air time on the nationals. However, if the copper had his knee on his neck, it should , in keeping with the London incident, where a violent scumbag also resisted arrest but which also promoted hysterics because of his colour.

It was in the nationals bu
Absolute nob. Compared Jews to the kkk. Way to generalise. I despair.

Just touching on the Akinfenwa issue again.
Zootropolis is on bbc1 right now. Animation.
The chief of police is a big fat water buffalo. Voice appears to be Idris Elba or at least that of a black actor.
Anyone offended by that ?
Idris Elba or the actor doing the voice clearly wasn't .

You’re really concerning yourself with who does the voice of a talking water buffalo, I’ll just say that again, a talking water buffalo in a cartoon, I’ll say that again, a cartoon? I’ve seen some desperate attempts at trolling before but the use of a talking animal in a cartoon has to take 1st prize #desperate

Trolling who ?
As for this hashtag desparate crap, grow up.
If you look back to the 1930's a certain group in central Europe used cartoon posters as propaganda. So just for the record, cartoons are actually relevant. And don't try the old trick of saying I'm comparing this animated film to the Nazi propoganda machine because I'm not. It's just that you're talking out of you're arse.
Personally I couldn't care less about the voice of black actor over a water buffalo. The vast majority of people probably couldn't care less. However, some might. Young kids watch these films and is it right to put a black voice over a large black buffalo ? Young kids might just associate large black buffalo with large black people. These kids shouldn't have that seed planted in their minds in the first place .
I might be playing devil's advocate but for me having a black voice over a large buffalo doesn't fit the current climate. There should be an outrage about this surely ?
Do yourself a favour and look up Nazi propoganda posters. It didn't matter because they're just cartoons.

So you’re suggesting that Zootropolis contains subliminal far right messages then and they’ve tricked a black man into playing along with it. #superdesperate

Think he means that if a water buffalo was a racist term then somebody would have pointed out when they use it to picture a black character.

It's that thing again, people will decide themselves if they think something is racist or not.

The water buffalo in zootropolis represents only a water buffalo, nothing else.

Well he's in a police uniform for starters. He is also large and played by a man who is black.

Maybe a water buffalo for Akinfenwa just meant a water buffalo, like when he posted it himself?

Hang on Tony - putting aside the story about that footballer Akinfenwa being linked to a water buffalo and how racist it was, wasn't there also an outcry because they wanted black actors playing black people in cartoons (eg Simpsons?).
I think you need to write to Matt Groening, tell him it's OK and we want the bloke playing Apu not to hand his cards in.

I've said nothing of the sort. The usual labelling far right/ far left nonsense from you .
Its funny that the likes of you were up in arms on behalf of Akinfenwa when he was likened to a fat water buffalo but on this occasion it's okay .
As for tricking Idris Elba into doing the voice why would they and how would they ?
Idris Elba clearly didn't have an issue with it . He clearly doesn't think that a water buffalo is a race issue, though a while back many on here did.

So is the issue that a black English man of Sierra Leonean and Ghanaian parents is playing an animal that’s native home is Asia?

You brought up Nazis into a “discussion” about cartoons not me.
I didn’t actually pass comment either way on the comments about Akinfenwa.
Idris Elba wasn’t being compared to a water buffalo, he was voicing a fictional character in a cartoon of a talking buffalo. Akinfenwa is a real person who was compared to a water buffalo. You can see the difference I’m...

... no. Wait. I’ve just remembered who I’m talking to.

Who's compared Idris Elba to a water buffalo ?
You clearly didn't know that the Nazis used cartoons effectively as propoganda. I thought everyone knew that

You’re dismissing your own argument with your first line.
For some reason no, I’m not as educated as you in the far right. I’m comfortable with that.

Would you be offended if someone described you as a paedophile because Kevin Bacon played one in a film so if, as a white man, he's ok with it what right do you have to be offended?

I don't think 7 year old kids would watch Kevin Bacon as a paedophile do you ?
However, if they met him the next day having watched the film they might believe he was a paedophile.
Would you ?

What the hell has that got to do with it?

Your argument was Akinfenwa had no right to consider being called a water buffalo offensive because another black man was content enough to voice one in a film.

So I'm saying you'd have no right to consider being called a paedo offensive because another white man was content enough to play one in a film.

Isn't that missing the point that Akinfenwa himself compared himself to a Water Buffalo?
