This is quite good

“The insult is like the mirror image of “snowflake,” a slight used by the political right to denote a hypersensitive generation of young people on the left who struggle to deal with dissenting viewpoints and therefore require “safe spaces” lest they get “triggered.”

It’s more ageist than racist I would say.
It is about their skin colour. Its not hard to grasp.

You've lost the argument . You've nowhere else to go. Looking for racism that doesn't exist. You are an absolute disgrace. You label people as racists / right wing scum etc but you've been found out for what you really are.

Out of interest who have I called a racist or right wing scum? I’ve argued that something is racist.

Only when they get angry, which is often and usually about something not worth getting angry about. It’s about attitude more than anything else.
Yeah so it's about skin colour. Racist then? Check out your back peddling.

How about "karen". Could also be racist.

Mr Dugdale,

I like you really (I apologise). Although you can be a bit baity, there's more to you than that and actually when you get down to it, we seem to have a similar world view on how to treat people face to face etc. That frightens me a bit, but it is what it is.

Tbh I don't even get what this argument's about, or why. Could I suggest you and Tony move on to the next pointless argument?

Remember, Black Skin, White Masks. It's very good.

I think anyone can be a Karen, it's just at the moment it's being hogged by American women in their 40s and older pretending to be in danger because a black man is on the same street. If normalcy ever prevails again we'll see Karens of all colours and creeds demanding to speak to managers and refusing vaccinations and whatnot

may I just point out that I am from the same demographic as most gammons though not as red due to the fact I don't really get angry about anything and everything.
If anyone finds my avatar offensive please DM me letting me know you are a raging middle aged bigot who benefited more than most from the sacrifices of the war generation and the social progression of the decades that followed without actually contributing to either and you now want to deny those hard won privileges that you've experienced to other and I will change it to save you further upset.

Isn't that stereotyping based on how somebody looks though? What happens if I was to make a collage of middle aged Muslim men and say if somebody is offended they like kids?

I'm confused about what is racist and what isn't now. Can we use skin colour or not?

Like I said I'm from the same demographic.
And that particular montage was taken from an episode of QT where all those fellas were raging because they didn't think Corbyn would drop a nuclear bomb. I think that needs ridiculing.

Every explanation (even in media outlets) is it it's stereotyping a white woman.

Is it racist?

Yeah but does being in the same demographic make it ok?

Don't get me wrong, I'd call them all a bunch of nonces but commenting on their skin colour.

Why is that ok? Is it racist for a non white person to say it?

it's not a comment on white people, it's a comment on a certain type of person, same as Karen.
It's not a trope that tarnishes the whole race, blacks are lazy, Jews control the banks etc.
Same as I wouldn't say roadman is racist as relates to a certain sort of person who is usually black but not everyone who is black.

Is there much difference between that and saying a man who is black has a massive dick?

As I say, at the moment it's just the same white women doing the same thing so it's been commandeered by these instances while all this is going on. It's not exclusive to white people though as anyone can be an entitled dickhead so I don't think it's racist. The real victims are women actually named Karen who must be wishing they picked a different name for it

It quite literally is comparing their skin to gammon.

but they're red because they're angry.
If you're going to call gammon racist then you'd have to same the same about snowflake, and in my opinion, whatever type of insult snowflake is it's not racist.

Nick

Skin which changes due to absurdly angry reactions. It’s nothing to do with race. I can’t understand how this needs explaining.

It's entirely to do with race, because it is white people turning read.

This is the thing, you can't have "everything is racist" in one direction and "it's nothing to do with race" when the coin is flipped.

Of course it is to do with race.

So snowflake is racist? I'm being racist to my own demographic? Get a grip Nick for fucks sake!

Yeah you can't call a white person a snowflake.

Don't get me wrong, I think the group of people you would call "gammons" are a joke.

I am just pointing out how it is free for all as long as the target is white. This is what needs addressing too, what's the limit?

NW thinks if the person thinks it is racist then it is. I am pointing out how there has to be a line, otherwise it would just get silly (by people who want to make it silly to take advantage, not the actual victims who have suffered) and do anything but improve things.

It isn't if you say it but if a non-white person says it then yeah, it is.

Again, I am just demonstrating how it would work if it was the other way round.

If a group of white people were having a joke about me being pale as fuck and I was laughing and then a non-white person said it and I called them racist. I'd look a bit silly wouldn't I?

come on Nick, its generally a right wing insult aimed at the left, gammon is vice versa.
We'll never end racism while people who haven't suffered it try to pretend they have. This is just the same as the middle class SJWs who like to think they suffered and struggled like the great campaigners of the past when in reality have they fuck.

snowflake is about attitude and political outlook, same as gammon.

It’s not white people, most just happen to be white and it’s not tarring all white people with the same characteristic, it’s referring to a specific subset who are that way by choice rather than genetics.

It is rude and childish. It is not racism by any definition.

And nobody is saying everything is racist. People are saying racist things are racist and “everything is racist now” etc is a right wing come back designed to make people panic and feel threatened so they take the side of the racists.

This is the point I am getting at.

Of course there are racist police officers, of course there are people in all institutions who are racist either consciously or not.

It doesn't need for every single interaction between somebody who isn't black and somebody who is to be racist.

Have a look at Tony, D'OD and NW's approach. (Although NW doesn't say things are racist, he says if the person thinks it is then it is).

Gammon still does refer to Skin Colour, would you see a Black African person being called a Gammon because they have gone red in anger?

Do you not realise that somebody blushing is not the same as race?

Just to confirm, I don't personally find Gammon or Snowflake offensive. I am just pointing out that how if you want to make something based on skin colour then it quite easily can be.

I grew up pale as fuck, I'd burn from opening the fridge. I can't really talk about any sort of skin.

Would a black African person go the same colour as Gammon when angry?

I don't find Gammon offensive, but if everybody wants to start taking everything as based on colour of skin all of the time by default then surely people should stop saying stuff like that?

Racism isn’t just about colour of skin. Some races just happen to have different skin tones.

I know it isn't JUST about it but I am just trying to point out where does it end.

If we were to let people decide what is racist or not and forcing apologies it is going to get silly with some people abusing it.

Meanwhile, the actual victims of racism and the actual perpetrators of racism or diluted down and hidden away in amongst somebody claiming their toast from Tesco was racist and shit like that.

Nah you’ve got completely the wrong end of the stick here.

Gammon a) doesn’t apply to all white people and b) is about a complexion you get from a lifestyle not a race you are born with.

It’s like calling Trump an umpa lumpa isn’t racist. Or my very pale mate Casper isn’t racist. Or calling someone “freckles” isn’t racist. They aren’t races.
