Playing Giles at LW wouldn't be playing him out of position, it's his natural position and is being re-coached as a LWB.

Which is why Wolves insisted he went to a team who plays with Wing Backs, we're not going to change that without good reason.
Moreso, the attacking outlet he offers from wing back is absolutely key to the way we play & for me he's a better fit for that role than McCallum.

Giles has speed, energy and has had to get used to putting his foot in. Playing him on the left side of attacking midfield could be really smart as him closing down a team knocking the ball across the back could be really effective if we are trying to hit a team on the break. The way O'Hare harries players too could make this an effective first line of defence option. Not discounting Allen's role, or even Shippers, but it is great to have options over a compacted season.

To be fair I can actually see them being rotated quite often, it's a very demanding position, the most demanding on a pitch tbh... They will probably share the responsibility this season... Great business tbh... Be hard to get another dabo though, rumour has it dabo runs to and from matches, irrespective of location and then plays 90

Our change things up option is currently two up top. If we’re looking for wingers as a change option then we need to find a right winger too. It would also mean going 4 at the back which takes Dabo’s game away, means we lose one of the 3 at the back which Fadz for one never looked comfortable in and he’s the only leader we’ve got there and completely negates the whole point of having two LWBs that don’t look completely comfortable at LB.

Again, you’re not wrong. Last season, all of our wingers were injured so we didn’t have that option.

I’m sure Robins will be looking to give himself as many options as possible.

He's as much an attacking midfielder as Jones is and he was lined up to play there.

I'd be very surprised if we don't see Giles there at some point. Not necessarily as a starter or first choice, but he will get some game time there.

And its not like wanting Haynes on the wing as he only ever played LB, Giles has played most of his life as a left winger.

I just don’t get the mixed reviews on here, it’s great business from MR.

Wingbacks are integral to the way we play, and we need them to be incredibly fit to cover so much ground, as it stands if Giles or Dabo pick up an injury, we’re in trouble. Pask and Mason aren't natural wingbacks and although they are more than capable players, they are not like for like replacements. With games coming thick and fast we need to be able to rest and rotate players.

Bringing in Mcallum is a no brainer, he’s a great wingback and will provide cover and competition.

P.s. can we please stop all this nonsense about playing people out of position.

Jones was lined up to play there after 2 years of reevaluating what he can do, going through the training with him and teaching him how to play the position. Giles would just be chucked in there and he's on loan at us specifically as his parent club want him to play LWB.

Maybe if we switch late on whilst chasing a game, but there is no evidence to show that Giles has the brain to play attacking midfield just because he can run up and down a wing... We have players like bapaga to come in and play the role and develop

The formation stays the same as 3/4/3 and the forward 3 will be Godden with O'Hare and Giles behind. He'd offer more of an attacking threat than Allen
