You keep ignoring the 12 billion Johnson and Cummings have siphoned off to their mates - doesn't it make you angry?

How many people suffered and perhaps died due to austerity for the money to end up with their cronies?
Is there any actual evidence to show that or just bullshit lefty talk?

Id have another word TBH. Very rare that they demand GCSEs for mature students in my experience. Especially if you can prove competence with experience.

They basically said they have far too many people applying so only want the best, they wanted 7 GCSE's A-C, with English, Maths & Science at B minimum, working in the field that I do, I have to interpret engineering drawings, with extreme precision, have to do far more then what you're taught at GCSE level, but they just weren't interested.

Couldn't you just get the maths qualification?
I wouldn't think it would take too long.

I think Japan is far more interesting

I've never been to Japan but can't see it working here.
I know people who've worked there and told me about their health and safety culture- if you put up a sign saying do not touch something people don't touch it.
Do it here and people are licking it and rubbing their dick on it so you have to build a cage round it.

That's the plan, I went to do it this previous year but I went to Australia and they weren't happy with me taking 6 weeks off. Then this year they have ran their courses in normal day time hours and I work 7am-3pm, so there was nothing suitable to fit in my life. I'll try again next year though.

That’s mental. I went in as a mature student with no issues (didn’t do A levels so don’t have Maths A Level which was required) Sorry to hear it. What about a higher level apprenticeship?

I'm 53 and still no idea what to do with my life career wise but with hindsight I think Physio would be a cracking job.

Had several reasons to visit them in recent years and always found their knowledge of my injuries fascinating.

I think it'll be a rewarding job, helping people through the low points of their life and changing it for the better.

I am simply. Saying no other person in government would of been handle the virus any different from any party that's just a fact, as for China if they hadn't shot up there whistle lowers maybe we would of been more prepared by a few mo ths of the seriousness of the virus.
It’s not a fact but it is possible. Regardless, it’s irrelevant. There seems to be this idea going round that you accept the governments handling of it as great or you would rather Corbyn was in charge. It’s a false choice. It’s not an argument of who could have done better. It’s a discussion over where this government have performed poorly and how they could improve. That’s a perfectly reasonable discussion to have. Saying “who could ha e done a better job?” is just a distraction.

I've always liked the idea of a Deity that has buried fossils to look millions of years old just to confuse the hell out of Palentologists or such like.

But if he planted them for a laugh who's to say he didn't plant the Ten Commandments for the same reason?

Haven't read much of the thread, but I wish the government would shut everything down for 4 weeks, give all adults (18plus) £2-3k each to cover that period, so that people can pay bills, eat etc. Businesses don't have to pay staff for this period and hopefully we disrupt/break the threat of this virus. Feels like it wouldn't cost any more than the piecemeal measures. Probably laughably naive solution, otherwise they would have implemented something similar, but tweaking aside, it would protect most people and most businesses.

Indeed, I think worshipping would be too strong of a word but might be worth having a beverage with by the beer volcano before going into the stripper factory.

Looks like London is geting ready to buckle down. Population density and all that, should make it very interesting in a machiavellian way to see how quickly the virus spreads there.

I got 4 As at A-Level, including English Lang and Lit and a 2:1 from Sussex uni, which has an excellent reputation for Eng Lit...considered a PGCE as an English teacher and got turned down because I didn’t have a Maths GCSE...I took the exam about 6 times and just couldn’t pass it.

wow! The same China who created the virus. everyone at the start saying how well Germany were doing. not hearing that argument now. end of the day. dealing with this ‘virus’ is impossible.for me it’s the same as normal flu. Life has changed for good. Every winter now will never be the same again. virus every year changes to different strains
When has the flu ever caused us to build emergency overflow hospitals? What would you do then?

Coming from the guy who says China ‘made’ the virus and that we’re only top of the death league because we’re better at recording than everyone else

It was a Institute for Public Policy Research study as well. Facts and Keiran are in a long distance relationship

Best mate taken into hospital this morning. Not too good. Steroids antibiotics and oxygen. He’s pretty overweight and has a high powered stressful job. Quite upbeat but it does bring it home to you.

Another overweight friend with diabetes in Sheffield spent about 10 days in hospital. Came out last week. He feels if he’d gone in in the peak he wouldn’t have come out. Once people have had a friend or member of their family affected they stop talking shit
