How's that 80%faster spreading than idk 100's of k's of case's in the previous strain .

Tier 4 is bollocks just like the last lockdown. The last lockdown didn't work, because unlike the first lockdown kids were in school, students were going to college and uni, and people were not working from home where they could and businesses were still open. The roads were just as busy as normal in the last lockdown.

And too many people did not follow them.

If you choose to accept that 1000 cases compared to hundreds of thousands across 3 months is not a vehicle for deflection of resisting an October blockdown or Williamson's insistence ,then well.

New strains happen all the time, there's already multiple strains of Covid-19 so try not to get too down about it. This sort of thing is expected and the vaccines shouldn't be impacted.

If you look back the strain that came out of Wuhan originally has pretty much gone now, think there was 8 major strains back in the summer so this is just one more on the list. Think they're over playing this as its a get out for not putting the right restrictions in place for Christmas.

Presumably yes as there's a website you can go on where all the data has been compiled and you can watch various strains become dominant and then fade away.

There's also been research where they have traced back which country peoples infections originate from. That's why we've had news reports that the majority of infections this winter trace back to people who went abroad in the summer.

Only 25 million people are expected to get the vaccine next year, so I wouldn't get too excited just yet.

Rapid testing, masks and therapeutic treatments are the key to controlling this, and always have been. But we've all become so fixated with the vaccine that we've been lulled into thinking the pandemic is almost over.

Not sure I understand the question sorry, Wingy? If the new strain arises in the last few months and is more infectious it will still take time to blow up into a large number of cases.
