The bloody public, putting London into Tier 2 and not restricting travel. Ignoring SAGE advice etc

The public are stupid the government don’t understand this and make wishy washy policies so it’s the government for me

To be honest even those that aren't stupid can get confused by some of it, often thanks to ministers saying totally contrasting things and Johnson's general wiff-waffing presentation style.

Also having policies that leave massive holes in the defences play a major part. Like wearing a condom but snipping the end off it first.

Although the way the government has handled the whole situation has been an absolute shitshow from start to finish, there has to be some kind of personal responsibility and common sense from the public too.

You have people in shops, etc who just don't seem to care in the absolute slightest and it's all too easy to just shift all the blame on to the government or Bob next door.

This is why having a libertarian PM in charge of a pandemic response is atrocious

Libertarian politician is such an oxymoron. Like anarchist cop or free market social worker. Your entire ideology is that you’re shit at your job and shouldn’t be doing it.

Shouldn't shops have already been turning people away without masks or exemptions? I thought that was the idea rather than it being a pretty please suggestion with sugar on top.

Be nice if it's actually enforced, also force people to cover their noses while they're at it.

I thought so as well, a lot of households take the piss and bring all their kids along but I'm not allowed in with my missus because we're adults.

derbyshire plod told to wind necks in

And rightly so. Fair play them both for the dignity shown in accepting the apology.

The problem remains that there isn't really a good definition of 'travel in your area'.

leaving home to exercise should be done locally wherever possible but you can travel a short distance within your area to do so if necessary.

Nowhere near as quiet as first lockdown. I remember going out for a run first time around and being the only person on a busy street with no cars going around at all, same run today and I'm going round people milling about and loads on the road. The message isn't getting through.

will have to get a lot worse for people to change or,crazy thought, some black and white rules

When Cummings took the piss completely and got away with it I think that gave a green light for others to do comparatively less and hope to get away with it as well.

There were no roses in that garden in which he held his press conference, like some grandee politician, that could cover up the stench of those grubby lies coming from his epsilon 5 thin lips.

I fucking detest the guy.

Yeah same as, you could cross roads without looking, run along the roads. It's nothing like a lockdown. We had 7 weeks of actual lockdown from 23 March to 12 May, they lifted restrictions from then and gradually you'd argue that its been restriction (only of any activity people may enjoy) since then.

I mean it's all relative isn't it and he is clearly talking about lax compared what what it was previously in this country. You are then changing the benchmark to be other countries - and your post is a bit aggressive
Aggressive? Show me where.

My point all the way through this is how lax we have been. At our strictest we have been lax. We even got half our bill paid if we went out to eat at one stage.

The rules put in place might well have worked if they were kept to. But we have idiots trying to make out this virus doesn't exist. We have others that think as they wouldn't get it bad can carry on as usual.

Much better to do it when it’s out of hours and not peak time, hardly any point having social distance instructions when the staff ignore it is there
So when items are sold from the shelves they shouldn't get restocked during the day so you don't have to wait to go along an aisle?
