I liken this to jobs I’ve had where I’ve been told to cut my hair, not dye my hair, remove piercings, etc.

I could have chosen to leave all those jobs and kept my personal choices or not. I decided for example teaching was more important to me than keeping my piercing.

No one forced me to remove my piercing. It’s a choice I made.
You didn´t decide anything, Society decided that you shouldn´t look like a girl and you felt you had to be a part of society.
It doesn´t mean you are weak. I think you should be yourself.

Do you know if there's thoughts of cancelling or do you just know that he was a no show?
Just don't know
Will depend on the reasons for his late arrival and whether they are genuine and serious enough to justify it
Could be genuine
We'll see
But as others have said all the other players from both sides arrived in good time

Spill the beans then

I think the implications are pretty clear.

We don’t have time to be pissing about pandering to people, and we could use the money, he should be gone if he just couldn’t be arsed to know what time he was supposed to be at work

I still say the fact he turned up at all suggests there’s a reason for being late might not be a good reason or acceptable to MR who might have known he was going to be late, let’s see what’s said about it.

Considering he was named on the bench I don’t think he knew

That’s what they said to Boosh and look how he ended up

originally he wasnt, the original announcement had COH both playing and on the bench
so is it Bright who is at fault - or was he not in the original line up and thought he didnt need to be there until maybe kick off time
Could be a club cock up ?

No, a player doesn’t rely on a club graphic on whether to turn up or not, I would hope not anyway. The squad will be known the day before

If I failed to show up at work and then blamed my boss for not mollycoddling me and making sure I knew when to be in I’d expect a bollocking.

Actually I wouldn’t as I’ve never done that, I have enough goodwill built up that I’d probably be laughed at as they’d know it was an honest mistake.

Bright’s problem is that he has a track record so everyone assumes he’s acting up, so hopefully it’s something genuine and innocuous and we move on.

lol- what do you mean one of “them?”

Surely this is about our players, whose ability to do their job is based on their health, the wider societal stuff is not for here tbh

Someone who likes to bully and shame people who don't have the same views or approach.

You have done one of the biggest back tracks yourself in fairness. Trying to appear a bit more on the fence now after originally joining in with the idea of fining players and accusing other posters of bringing up conspiracy theories (which you then couldn't back up).

No backtracking- it’s impossible to force people to have the jabs but if a player compromises his health based on crackpot “science” with zero evidence, putting the other players at risk in doing so then he should be fined the same way as if he turned up stinking of booze unable to play.

If any one of our players wasn’t able to play as he’d had 3 nights on the sauce there would be outcry and he’d be fined.

You are the biggest conspiracy theorist on here, but that’s not for here, on a football thread.

What conspiracy theories have I invented? Come on, don't pussy out and say it is for another thread when you have already made the accusation twice here.

Not everyone refusing the vaccine is because of 'crackpot science'. Young fit people are only generally getting it because they are being asked to, to help protect others. That was the original argument, and as it can't be used in this scenario, we have gone on to discussions about docking wages and contract terminations instead.

Bright's reputation precedes him so it's only natural we are all very skeptical about this.

Let's not forget though that our current club captain once missed a game by turning up late too. Let's see what the full story is before we get the pitchforks out.

Good team performance yesterday, some interesting trialists who could potentially sign, some individual performances worthy of discussion and the thread (the football bit at least), is dominated by a late show from that fucking idiot, bin him off

Looks as if some of the usual suspects have it in for Bright - without any idea of the circumstances.

Not sure why anyone on here would want any of our players to fail (always find that astonishing - think someone on here was even asking for Bright's contract to be ripped up); like most of our fans I hope this is a storm in a tea cup and look forward to Bright being a game changer this season. He's a talent and he's our player.

Let's support the lads vs. trying to look for negatives or demand a player's dismissal without any facts?

I have on several occasions expressed how much I enjoyed watching him in League One, more so than many a player for us and although understandably sceptical, I was excited about us signing him. I'm not about to start nailing into him like some have done without knowing the full picture, but it is hardly surprising that some people are expecting the worse. We have taken a risk signing him and seemingly he's fallen at the first hurdle. It *COULD* be a massive coincidence and he genuinely had a reason, but it doesn't exactly look good does it?

Couple of seasons ago Didn't Kelly miss a match. Because of traffic from his home in Milton Keynes.

Just saying it does happen.

Theres no excuse for missing a match for traffic. As you should be taking that into account. And like others point out the meet time time is at least 2 hours before the game even starts.
