Again no one has said because of her comments please keep up

So do why do you and people like your mate 'the excellent' Dan Hodges keep mentioning her if it's nothing to do with her? It's the angle you went with at first because you jumped to conclusions before it was announced as an Islamic terror attack.

But if the house they're searching in Kentish Town is his residence why did he travel to Southend?
There are Tory constituencies closer to him than there.
Amess's voting record isn't particularly controversial, as far as middle Eastern policy I'd say its pretty much aligned with most tory mps.

I would guess just a case of opportunism.

Reasonable profile, but not top drawer so security less?

More accessible than many?

As not London, less nearby security?

Early in the alphabet to pick?!?

Hodges is a hypocritical scum bag - and yes that description is totally deserved because he’s deliberately choosing this language and behaviour.

Did wonder if maybe his surgery was less security conscious than the London consituencies.
And if that is the reason then a lot of planning and research went into this murder.

Yep and the editors should be pulled up on putting a big picture of Rayner under the headline. So obvious what they are doing.

Or perhaps because this MP was openly Catholic and spoke more about his faith and that gave some extra motive for the killer.

Possibly. Of course my take is based on the assumption the residence in Kentish Town is his which it may not be.
Though if it isn't that opens up a load more questions.

Agree that it’s just hypocritical when he’s used similar language in the past however looking at the article he makes some valid points, as did Matthew syed in a Sunday times article a few weeks back. The language used around MPs/politicians/politics is unhealthy. I personally think there is plenty of incompetence (in all parties) however I don’t agree when words such as ‘evil’ are tossed around. I find the hated towards people who ultimately have relatively slightly different views just a bit weird really

....although I can understand it when talking about people on the extremes like BNP etc

Probably difficult to pin down the full motives behind it other than he’s probably just a sad, terrorist nutter

By all accounts Amess appears a decent guy/politician

Absolutely, but when it was put to the the PM he described it as 'humbug'.

His voting record was questionable on gay rights. Not for an islamic fundamentalist, mind...!

He’d backed and was passionate about bringing unaccompanied children out of refuge camps, he also seemed to have a good relationship with the local Muslim community who turned out yesterday to pay their respects in numbers.

Brass eye?
I did post it up as soon as news filtered through, but it seemed slightly disrespectful in hindsight, so took it down.

Mind you, compared to some of this thread, it was pretty low on the disrespectful scale...!

Didn't realise He was involved in that, I'd imagine he had to give permission for it to be used so fair play.

I don't know if he did, tbh, although any permission would be to use the interview on TV for a programme called Brass Eye anyway, not what type of programme it turned out to be.

I do know he tabled a question for PMQs on the dangers of cake!

Pretty much:
No one on this thread has ever used the words of Conservative politicians against them then? God forbid some are forced to look a bit closer to home.

Kentish Town is in Holborn and St. Pancras which is Starmer so he has no chance of getting near the LOTO

The difference is the vast majority are perfectly able and happy to criticise Tories and Labour.

Tory fan boys exclusively criticise Labour and are completely incapable of criticising the Tories, and they won't have a bad word said about them.

If a Labour MP fucks up, people on the left will call it. If a Tory MP fucks up, the default response is 'but but Labour!'.

See the bizarre Jack Straw retort the other day as a prime example.

There is also a world of difference between saying someone is Tory Scum and stabbing an MP. anyone who links the 2 is a sick c**t end of story

Hmmm I not going to get into another shit slinging contest tbh, but in this thread I'm not sure that's the case.

This is the only example I'm going to put on here, but a Tory MP joked about sending a bomb to a Labour MP only two weeks ago and I don't think it's been mentioned, the hypocrisy is off the scale.

You either say tone down the rhetoric and apply it to all sides or you don't.

I think its time it was toned down. I could point out several examples of hypocrisy by posters on this thread, they could probably do the same to me but I'm not going to because it just descends into more tit for tat bollocks and a mans murder becomes weaponised.

Not talking about this thread particularly, discourse as a whole is shit and picking up on one comment to the exclusion of the wider problem, especially when all signs point to Islamic terror and no a U.K. party political point feels off TBH.

The press barely covered it and I don’t think he was even reprimanded, his party did reprimanded a couple of weeks later though for suggesting that two Asian members of the cabinet look the same.

You're all saying Tories give it the but but Labour but that's all everyone has been doing in this thread the other way around. It's all over the shop isn't it.. that joke was made in a private WhatsApp group in fairness, whereas I could point to comments made in public by the laughable David Lammy and possibly the most hate filled man in British politics, John McDonnell. Its back and forth and no one gains anything... I personally have been trying to look a little closer to home at some things, I really don't think the same can be said for a few on this forum.

I can point out loads of examples of like for like comments about violence and sexuial violence that have been hilighted in.one case but ignored in another.
There was a study which said the most abused MP is Dianne Abbot but how many people have criticised the threats made to her?

Like I said,I'm sure I'm not whiter than whiteon this issue.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it has any influence on actual events but maybe it's just about behaving decently.

You told me to give it a rest when I countered what Angela Radnor said with what Tories including the PM had said. You ain’t looking that close.

No, you're still petty point scoring.
People either call out the comments by Rayner and Johnson or you call out neither.
People either call out the threats and made to Abbott and to Patel or you call out nether.

But if you do call out one and not the other then you're just weaponising it for your own agenda.
