Apparently 25% of EFL players aren’t vaccinated , now I know the vaccine doesn’t stop you from catching/spreading it, but no wonder so many of them are actually poorly from it!

Yeah my mates just text me the same. Full breakdown:

41% of players in EFL still not fully vaccinated, league reveals.

*25% “do not intend to get vaccine”

*16% are “set to get the jab”

*59% are double vaccinated

*?% booster

It's their choice , be nice if they had it , but ultimately , it's their choice

Seems dumb for a player to deliberately make it more likely they won't be in peak condition and could miss out on thousands in appearance bonuses. No more sympathy for a player not taking the vaccine than I would for a player who's caning it on the booze in between games. Plenty of players have knackered their own careers that way.

That seems very high. The NHL (ice hockey) has its fair share of redneck players who you might guess are anti-vax but started the season with only 4 players unvaccinated and 3 of them have since changed their mind and had the jab.

Why would the percentage be so high for footballers?

Yeah but playing with numbers.

41% currently unvaxxed vs 25% of the general population is a disparity of c,60%.

That's pretty significant, statistically speaking.

Odd, to say the least.

Age profile?
I'm taking your and CCFCSteve's data at face value.

According to you - 25% of that age profile unvaxxed.

According to CCFCSteve - 41% of EFL players unvaxxed.

That is a big difference, and well outside of any statistical margin of error.

Severity of illness vaccinated v unvaccinated (even allowing for age) should be enough of a reason, but regardless, you'd think that helping keep the night life and venues open that a lot seem to frequent, would be a motivator. Frustrated by some of the mindsets. but hey ho, live and let......

There’s no evidence of this 75% are according to the OP

Think it’s an important question as to why many aren’t. I could understand more in the premier league as more nationalities , cultures etc. But Efl ......I know footballers often aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed, but smacks of the louder influenicentak teams mates probably putting out fake news in WhatsApp groups putting players off

Well I prefer red over brown myself.

But in all seriousness , I’m sure I saw it on the bbc football page???
You fucking freak!

You better not be phase 1 elite, or I've lost all faith in the CCFC season ticket allocation process!

I wonder if our players have it, after a certain incident.

Updated my original post. It should’ve read 41% not fully vaccinated (which would tie in with 59% confirmed as double jabbed). I’d cut and paste mates text earlier

I wonder whether those on the fringes of the team are more likely to be jabbed as their opportunities for first team football may then increase?

I think it comes down to the lack of transparency of the (potential) long term health effects of taking these vaccines, particularly the mRNA based ones. If you‘re over a certain age with a health condition it’s a no brainer, not so much if you‘re fit and healthy and in your 20s.

Ah thanks. Was it Oxford or Cambridge for you when you were reading Medicine?
