Warwick Hospital lockdown? My mum is on a recovery unit. No visitors for 2weeks minimum. could be due to staff absences.
Think that might be the same everywhere and not down to an outbreak or staff absences. UHCW and Rugby had an exception for Christmas Day and Boxing Day but it was very limited.

What's going on with the testing? Social media full of posts from people saying they have symptoms but can't get a test.

There's also suppliers of tests taking to social media saying they have tests ready and waiting that could be delivered but can get no response from anyone in government. There's companies literarily putting their contact details on twitter asking anyone in government to call them so they can supply the tests.

Meanwhile Johnson is on TV with his weird 'I haven't been on holiday again, honest' ramble telling everyone to get tested.

That's the thing, now people with a headache and feel tired feel like they have to test over and over and over.

They are still not official symptoms on the NHS website so in theory should not need to get tested

It was funny at school being told casually that there were some norovirus outbreaks but to be really alert to having to isolate as a Covid close contact. I’d rather catch Covid than flipping norovirus

Second negative test this morning so thats me back outside.

Honestly, I've had worse hangovers, if it was omicron i had, and i assume it was, its fuck all. Genuinely felt worse start of November when I had an ear infection.

Omicron may just be natures vaccine and the way out of this....

Some figures for the favourite 'with covid or from covid' question.

Really interesting and useful comparison and obviously a bit concerning. However, maybe I’m just being sensitive to how data is portrayed/shared these days, but I didn’t see any mention of londons appalling vaccine/booster rates maybe having an impact on hospital numbers are therefore questioning whether similar hospitalisation rates would be reflected across the country ?!

I appreciate this doesn’t help londons situation but he should bring this into the equation. I hope the government/SAGE aren’t just focussing on London as whist they’re a good earlier indicator I’d hope the rest of the country might fair a little better

Can't find you a nice little graphic but these are the latest figures from NHS England for week ending 23rd December.
Screenshot 2021-12-30 at 13.01.21.png
NHS England said:
The majority of inpatients with Covid-19 are admitted as a result of the infection. A subset of those who contract Covid in the community and are asymptomatic, or exhibited relatively mild symptoms that on their own are unlikely to warrant admission to hospital, will then be admitted to hospital to be treated for something else and be identified through routine testing.

However these patients still require their treatment in areas that are segregated from patients without Covid, and the presence of Covid can be a significant co-morbidity in many cases.

Equally, while the admission may be due to another primary condition, in many instances this may have been as a result of contracting Covid in the community. For example research has shown that people with Covid are more likely to have a stroke in these cases people would be admitted for the stroke, classified as ‘with’ Covid despite having had a stroke as a result of having Covid.

Yeah, also the London spike precedes the booster acceleration in any case

No idea who is as I've not heard of him but the first thing that came up when I googled was 'Dr John Campbell - A Danger to All' followed by 'Dr. John Campbell is not a medical doctor' so maybe need to take what he says with a pinch of salt.

or as he would recommend, a pinch of ivermectin!

FYI I have had confirmation of the player whose mother in-law to be had a severe illness following the jab via pm. So fair play to @Marty for that. I don't feel I should post the players name on the forum.

Obviously the medical side of it is still unclear to me. However you can see it putting some of the players off unfortunately.

If it's true of course, I mean I'd be shocked if an anti vaxer made stuff up to try and strengthen their opinion (as they obviously don't have medical facts to do that)

I assume as well that there is definitive proof that if this illness did happen then it was 100% caused by a reaction to the vaccine and couldn't possibly have been caused by anything else ;)
