Read an article in the Guardian that speculated that she may already have tried to cut a deal and the prosecutors are not interested as they do not want to deal with her. Maybe she was the 'big fish' they were after so why should they do deals to reduce her sentence to prosecute other 'smaller fish'? I don't think we have heard the last of it yet, am sure other things will follow.

Thought it was breathtakingly arrogant of her not to take the stand as she felt the prosecution "had not proven their case". That must have influenced the jurors.
I'm obviously wrong but always thought you cut the deal with the DA at the time of charging to go to court facing a lesser charge, not a deal on the sentence afterwards. Must have been watching too many American cop shows!

Not to be hugely cynical, but I’m guessing there’s political pressure for it to end with her.

Jan Moir (the ghoul who said gayness killed Stephen Gateley and somehow remained employed) waited until deep into injury time to try and claim the crown of worst take of 2021

The youngest victim in the Epstein/Maxwell scandal was 14, and most were in their mid to late teens. Which makes me wonder, at what age does someone move from child-victim status into a person who is responsible for their own actions?

When she was 15, Greta Thunberg began the school strikes and public speeches, which made her an internationally recognised climate activist

You may very well be right and I could have totally misinterpreted what was said, have just tried to find the article and cannot.

Pure speculation here, but wonder how much affect the ongoing accusations against Andrew influenced Harry and Megan's decision to leave the family and move abroad. Pretty sure Magan would not have put herself in his company .

What did he do?

Got away with an incredibly lenient deal for being a paedo and those that facilitated got handsomely rewarded with promotions.
Would need to look up again which administrations were in charge, think it spanned more than one.

Found the article, unable to post a link but it was by Edward Helmore in New York. Was in the Guardian on 30/12/21.

From memory all but one charge was dropped as part of the deal.

The remaining one (soliciting an underage girl for sex) that he accepted was by far the most minor hence the serious ones around rape etc. disappeared.

And to ice the cake, the bit of time he did spend inside he was released everyday to work out of his office, transported to and from via limousine, and had girls delivered to him at his place of work. A farcical disgrace.

And iirc the DA or lawyer who brokered the deal ended up in Trump’s cabinet or at least well up the political food chain.

I can’t believe on appeal it won’t be changed though grendel
There's no way her convictions are going to be overturned on appeal, he was fully complicit and active in the facilitating and trafficking these girls for Epstein. She would have eventually been charged and found guilty of these crimes even if Epstien hasn't killed himself.

If Starmer had any sense he’d jettison Mandelson ASAP.

I do in all seriousness wonder if Ms maxwell was say Jacob Rees Moggs daughter if this would become more political

This will definitely ruin Blair’s chances at the next general election.

I do find it cute how the Corbynites and the Tories are singing from the same hymn sheet now :p

Oh it’s just funny. Former labour MP donated millions to the socialist cause, employed Campbell and Mandleson…

Mr Campbell and Mr Blair are very entwined with the Maxwell family

They certainly are.
Like I said, you're the one trying to make it political.
Plenty on both sides should be worried. But I think Mandleson is the New Labour figure with most to hide.

Do you know of any 'Corbynites' who were in Epsteins black book or private jet passenger logs?

I've not seen any but if I've missed them I'll gladly ask questions of them as well.

You can be sure that if we get to election time and Mandelson is still in the Labour fold that it’s going to become quite the talking point.

To be fair calling out elites who think they are above justice goes beyond political affiliation.
