Would it be logical to allow them to work in the 'hot' area of the hospital where people have already got COVID anyway? Not sure whether that would have an adverse impact on the already infected?
Something like that would surely make sense. It also has the potential to keep people without it away from those hot spots

Isolation isn’t seemingly stopping the spread so yes it has to come at some point if you are well enough go to work
This isn't advocacy but is an interesting point and does expose the tendency to ride through things that ultimately impact someone else somewhere along with the converse perspective.

Because you're a weirdo with a history of making up bullshit and posting it in this thread.

Doing a "baldy" is slang now for making up unbelievable shit and thinking people don't laugh at you for it you racist fuck.

Have you got proof that I’ve bullshitted? And I’m apparently racist too? You really are vermin - horrible horrible little man
You don’t even know me…what a vile individual

Can't see that happening.

If somebody doesn't get sick pay or are self employed, they aren't staying at home.

I saw you spouting vile shit like "kung flu" and that was enough.

Same for mine in local hospital but the ICU is getting increasingly overwhelmed with very ill non-vaccinated people. This then has a knock-on effect for treating others.

I'm sure you only had it about a week ago? Are you sure you aren't just testing positive from a trace?

Last January pre vaccinations/boosters etc, my partner and I both had covid and it hit us really really hard. Isolating with two kids who were 4 and 17 months at the time was ridiculously hard, I look back and genuinely wonder how we did it!

Roll on 12 months, two vaccinations and a booster later and I tested positive about an hour ago. Been feeling pretty rough since NYE morning but LFTS were negative (including this morning) until now. Partner is fine with negative LFTS, and kids too. The thought of having to all isolate again feeling like this is not a good one!

However, am I right that as long as my partner tests negative she doesn’t have to isolate. And kids are lower risk of catching it too?

I’ve got a PCR booked for tomorrow so you never know….

Shite timing though, as my new Boss starts at work next week, so I do not want to be off if I can help it (I can WFH) so praying it only lasts another day as it’s been three so far.

Just where you thought you would probably be safe!

Worth noting that there is a 100% vaccination rate there as it is a requirement for all staff, and the outbreak has still happened.

Worth noting that the 100% vaccination rate has meant all the cases are mild and the facility has been able to continue work as normal.

There's never going to be a 100% vaccination rate.

There's never going to be a 0 death or case rate.

Smallpox has been eradicated and TB virtually eradicated thanks to vacinnations, hopefully the same thing happens here.

The end goal is surely rather than eradicate it, weaken it to the point that it doesn't warrant press conferences and daily rates and just becomes something that makes you feel a bit shit in the winter

Yeah but what will the threshold for that be while people are having to test so much?

Not a clue what would actually be required to downgrade it, but if positive cases aren't correlating directly with hospital admissions and deaths as appears to be the case with omicron (touch wood) we've got to be well on the way

They are correlating but not to the same extent. I do feel like that this is the point where everybody be will have gained some immunity from infection and / or vaccine which means it'll be the last wave that has any major impact (hopefully).
