So this year he’s missed 17/41 = 58% played
Last year 10/41 = 73% played
Year before 5/44 = 88% played.

You’re really not comparing that to Godden who’s played 50% of games last 2 years

Haalands team play probably 20 more games a season in other competitions, by his levels definition he's injury prone

I don't agree with you on godden tbh
I don't either, and as you said his goal record speaks for itself, but I am bored of the debate as he just says the same thing every time. Anyway back to Allen.

Yeah they do play more, hence why I’ve done it as a percentage of games played. I’d suggest if we played more games Godden would be injured even more

Well yes obviously he averages a goal a game, and this is his only really injury hit season

So basically you really aren't that arsed about injury records then .. in the league he's missing a massive percentage for them over the last 2 seasons .. you're moving goalposts .. so you're issue with godden is elsewhere

he really hasn’t, as I’ve just got the stats for you. You seriously cannot think paying 8k a week for a striker who plays 50% of games is good business

He's scored about 20% of our league goals in 22 games

12 goals over 46 would be a fair return

Don’t rate him, watching him try and challenge players twice the size of him in the middle of the park is cringeworthy at times. Makes lots of safe passes but is never going to split a defence or score goals. Fine to have around the squad to fill in a few places in midfield, but never a starter for me, bit of a nothing player and if it came to it I’d rather let him go and get a midfielder who can stand in in either the AM, playmaker or DM roles.
Utterly clueless

I think if you’ve watched the games this year you would agree Allen has been brilliant. His energy and work rate is very important to how we play.

It is the people that don’t attend games criticising him because he they don’t see him on the scoresheet. He will be an important player next year.

It’s a question for you, do you think it’s good business?

The fact you aren’t answering suggests you probably think it isnt

I think godden is a good striker , I'm happy for the club to pay him and his return is superb at this level .. what more do you want me to say

Godden scores goals, he’s had a couple of injuries for sure but he’s our second top scorer with a fantastic strike rate. Anyone slating him is pretty clueless
Couple of injuries? He’s missed around 40 games the last 2 seasons

He’s probably a reasonable earner.

He’s a squad player really. People have moaned about o hare and his goal contribution

Allen has 1 goal this season in 2,500 minutes and other than one season at burton his record is consistent

1 goal a season

1 assist as well

he’s hard working and can make easy passes but that’s it - worst of the midfield 4 for sure
Yes but he does all the other stuff which build up to goals and breaks down opposition attack/counter attacks

Matty is on more than 8k but I'd say even missing half a season he's still better value than Walker or Waghorn.

As for Allen, worthy of a squad place for sure, but to go up we need an upgrade. Decent to have, great effort, tremendous energy and we've seen how threadbare the squad is currently, but shouldn't be a regular starter in an ideal fully fit squad.

Allen is probably the best of a poor bunch of fringe players who get more playing time than they should only because we are so short of quality at Championship level.

Based on ability, he'd probably be a regular starter for no more than 50% of L1 teams.

I never really got the criticism of Allen last year tbh, and he's still exactly the same player this. He's busy, can do box to box, tidy although can underhit a pass (O'Hare does that too, do we play on shorter cut training pitches or something?). What he can't do is impose himself on a game like O'Hare or Hamer, he can be bullied out of a game at times so needs the players around him to help him out. This season, he's had more of that so looks better than last. We've also had players more able to pass him the ball!

Allen has gone from bomb squad, to decent squad player this season. He's definitely worth keeping, but he really needs to kick on and start to have a bigger influence on games,
he's a neat and tidy player, but I think there's more available from him, and Eccles could soon be ahead of him if he doesnt improve.

I had a pop at Allen during the first 25 mins but to be fair he kept popping up in good positions. He's not going to score or assist at this level but I think he does a role for the team.

Last week I played midfield in 6 aside against top of the league and we beat them 2-1. I hardly touched the ball but made sure I closed them down, pressed them and chased back. I guess I played the Jamie Allen role where I didn't do much obvious but I was part of the team that won.

That or I'm shite

Squad player is fine. But still think he would be one of he first players we could upgrade if we want to get better.

He's playing well and I like him. Just taking emotion out of it he isn't as good as hamer sheaf or o hare so would be first one on chopping block. After Shipley of course.

Bollocks. I’ve attended almost every home game and watched almost every away on iFollow. I’d wager Grendel is the same. This is just a lazy dismissal of people who disagree with you.

Yes pretty much and to say Allen is brilliant is laughable
